Chapter 1152: Little Brat
Jala still looked very much confused. He didn’t have any context for why this was so great or important. What he was more interested in was how his Hall Clan had been moved, and what the relation was with the Professors.
“Do you know about the Professors?”
Alex seed to recoil, but given his personality, this seed more exaggerated than anything else.
“Don’t ntion those sick freaks around . I read about so of the stuff they did and felt my dick escape into my body. I thought I’d have to find a way to make my balls drop again.”
Jala shuddered as well, rembering his encounter with one of them. They were truly people that would do anything.
“So you don’t know anything?”
“How many questions do you want to ask while floating around naked? The only man I’m gay for is Psycho Syl, even if he might try to take my head off the next ti he sees .”
Jala gave Alex a weird look. He really couldn’t figure this man out.
“Have you never been in a locker room before?”
“Oh? You call it a locker room on your world too? Of course I have been, but I was the chubby kid that changed in the bathroom stall. Forgive for not having enough at to swing around.”
Jala found himself sputtering with laughter. He really couldn’t take anything this man said seriously. For a second, he forgot that he was technically enslaved right now.
“Can you at least tell what you actually need for now?”
“I already told you. The Genes in you are special, and I need them. But I don’t actually have an easy thod of getting to them, so I can only use crude thods that, um… might require quite a bit of your blood, maybe, kinda.”
“You want to use a Blood Essence drain on ? Doesn’t that only work if you’re related?”
“Well, we are kind of related now.”
“Why would that require an enslavent contract, though? You spoke as though I would grow stronger.”
“Caution, for one. And you just might very well grow stronger. The thing with this is that none of us really know what will happen. But what I do know is that there are a lot of people who do not want this Race to appear again, and given how hard they’re trying—if I had to bet—I’d say that the odds of its suddenly reviving aren’t zero.
“Even Psycho Syl avoided this Race. That probably ans sothing.”
“You keep ntioning him. Are you two close?”
“Um… not exactly?”
“How much do you know about him?”
“Not enough.”
“Then why do you sound so scared of him?”
Alex’s head tilted to the side, looking at Jala with what must have been a very weird look. After a while, Jala realized why he was getting that look and blushed a bit.
“Listen, just because he killed , doesn’t an I have to be afraid of him.”
“Hoho, your skills aren’t bad, I almost believed you.”
“I am not scared of him!” Jala’s voice bood, but he seed to be more so trying to convince himself than anything else.
“Alright, alright. I believe you. Okay, I don’t believe you, but I’m also a terrible liar. What I do believe is that you’d fight him again if you had the chance, and that’s enough to save your ego a bit. I wouldn’t advise it though. That man doesn’t work based on common sense.”
Jala frowned. “Just what have you been through with him?”
“Nothing, really. I’ve just watched him from afar. You know, Legacy is a massive organization. Its information is unfathomably deep. Even its branches manage to find Summoned Worlds from ti to ti, sinking their claws in early, then manipulating things from the background.
“In this case, it wasn’t even just Legacy involved, but the Professors as well. Legacy as a whole usually takes a more hands-off approach, while the Professors are far more aggressive with the way they do things. It might be possible for a usual Summoned World to stave off the influence of Legacy a bit and take advantage of so of their pacifism, but not if the Professors are involved.
“In this case, while it seed like the Legacy of Earth was quite hands-off, they had their hands in all of the important pots. But the more I looked into it, the more I felt that they were actually being directed by a damn kid.”
“…What does that an?” Jala asked.
Alex shook his head. “It’s hard to break down everything I’ve consud into a short summary. You’ll just have to follow around until you see it too. But what I can say is that there’s a reason the Race the universe doesn’t want to appear is seen as so dangerous. Even facing off against the Professors, they not only managed to hold their own, but they left contingencies. They were a huge part of the reason the Professors couldn’t take Earth for themselves completely despite the massive disparity in experience.”
“But you said my Hall family is their descendants. Your words implied that Sylas wasn’t one of them, but of the Great Apes instead.”
“Ah, so you are a little smart after all.” Alex chuckled. “Yes, that’s right. As far as I know, the closest to that Race is your Hall Clan, which escaped, and the reason your Hall Clan was displaced like that was so that you could be more easily manipulated away from the influence of that Race that has been constantly trying to find ways of coming back. That movent cut off their chance to return, leaving much of the contingencies they left behind useless.”
“You an the backup plans they left couldn’t be used by others?”
“Yes. They set two difficulties to everything—one for those that shared their blood, and another for those that didn’t. The latter was so difficult even the Professors could only give up and move your Hall Clan elsewhere.
“Then a little brat ca around and solved their little puzzle at nine years old.”
