Chapter 1208 Slaughterhouse

Sylas' eyes flashed continuously, a stream of thoughts coming to mind all at once. None of them managed to explain his situation, but he had seen through several things at once.

First, that net was forged out of material that was at least D-Grade. He couldn't afford to get caught by it in the slightest. Though there was a nice combination of F, E, and D-Grade Runes that made it up, this wasn't a situation where he could easily take advantage of the F-Grade Runes.

He could do that for low-level E-Grade Treasures. But when D-Grade Runes were involved, the gap was too large and would more than make up for the weaknesses. To take proper advantage, he would need ti, space, and

circumstance—like he had had in the Frostbane World's prison.

Given the situation, he wouldn't have ti to do much of anything.

But that also ant he had to be wary of other things. Could it be possible that there were D-Grade threats here?

He was immune to the suppression of those of the D-Grade, but battling them was an impossibility.

'There aren't. But why would a fish boat of E-Grades have a D-Grade Treasure to use?'

Sylas' eyes sharpened as a whirring sound reached his ears.

Not good.

Harpoons suddenly shot into the water as though bullets fired from a rifle. No, it was far worse than that—far faster, far sharper, far more lethal.

Sylas tucked in his wings, tapping into Insight to feel out Nosphaleen's experience with using them, only to find that she didn't have a lot of insight—ironically enough—in this regard at all.

He made a ntal note to let Nosphaleen out more. There wouldn't be experience to pull on if she had so little experience.

But he still had his own instincts. So he dug deeper.

Rather than touching on the fainter layer of Nosphaleen's experience, he pulled on more of his Will to touch on the experience of the sryx Lineage itself.

It took more focus, but Sylas was sporting an E-Grade Profession now. He could more than easily manage

sothing as simple as this.

There was a shimring that ca from Sylas' wings as \ [Madness Control] whirred to life as well.

He spun away just in ti, muscles in his back that he didn't even know he had twitching with life and vitality—and maybe that was because, without wings, he had quite literally not had them.

Holding tightly onto Jala and Alex, he reached an unprecedented state of focus, everything working like a perfectly oiled machine.

SII! SII! SII!

The harpoons whizzed by, moving fast, but Sylas danced in the water as though it was no different from air, and yet was completely in tune with it nonetheless.

He almost flowed rather than moved, the sharpness in his eyes only growing more intent.

'It's coming.'

Eight more harpoons fired all at once. They were slower by a hair this ti, and Sylas picked up on the difference in the shift in the currents instantly.

The harpoons were attached to sothing—another net.

They had attached the harpoons to the ends of the net and were using it to propel it forward. However, Sylas also imdiately realized sothing else.

This net was only ford of E-Grade material. It covered a much wider area, so it must be the case that they didn't have enough D-Grade materials to forge it.

This was good news for several reasons… one of which was the opportunity it gave him right this mont.

Sylas suddenly ca to an abrupt stop, his wings unfurling in a sparkling sh of rainbow, silvery light. Silver scales reflected on his forehead and along his cheeks, his heel slamming into the waters beneath him as though solid concrete.

BOOM!

The water exploded, a vacuum of air forming just below his foot in a ruckus.

Sylas shot forward so fast that Jala and Alex both passed out —the rapid changes in water pressure, and the speed and g-forces, being too much for them to handle. They could only hope the nitrogen in their bloodstream didn't shoot up too much.

But one problem at a ti. Sylas didn't have the mind to care for them right this mont. This was as much as he could do.

There was a blinding flash in Sylas' eyes, and he focused on a location of the oncoming net, his True Pride Seed pulling with a sharp nace.

The confidence in his heart soared. When he made a decision, he never hesitated. But right now, his decisions felt like they carried even more montum than usual, as though there wasn't a ti he could ever possibly be wrong.

The feeling was intoxicating.

And when the spot his eyes locked onto crumbled the E-Grade net to ash, he felt even more so.

Chi.

Sylas shot out of the water in an enormous curtain, his body hidden in a wave as the darkness of the night and storming rain above beca his backdrop.

Holding Jala and Alex each under an arm, his wings unfurled once again as his senses swept over the fish boat below.

The strongest on the fishing boat was imdiately pointed out by Sylas, and it didn't escape his notice that they all wore the sa symbol and uniforms. It was imdiately obvious to Sylas that the reason for their high-grade materials should co from the fishing crew they were a part of.

However, as he had said…

One problem at a ti.

He tossed Jala and Alex into the air, summoning the Hollow Wing. Sylas' Mount caught them out of the air and instantly flashed into the skies so high it beca little more than a pinprick as Sylas himself descended.

Everything happened too fast, and Sylas was well hidden within the waves, timing everything. They didn't even realize he had landed on the deck until the fish boat swayed so violently it seed it might capsize.

The boat was barely 12 ters from end to end, and tonight, it would beco Sylas' slaughterhouse.
