Chapter 1240 Battle in the Skies

'Let's go.'

Sylas flipped through the air, suddenly coming to an abrupt stop. The arrow whizzed by his feet. Having been fired with his falling trajectory in mind, it didn't expect him to suddenly start flying.

Reflective glass of green sparkled beneath Sylas' feet and his aura flared.

BANG!

This high in the skies, swimming amongst the clouds… this was his domain.

Their Will would be especially weak here, so far beyond the surface. As for his own? It was barely affected.

[Glassvolt Shift].

Sylas beca a streak of lightning, his body slipping out of the way of yet another arrow.

Whizzing lines and sparking bolts of erald coated the bolt, the poison seeping into it and tearing the Aether that powered it to shreds.

The mont the arrow lost its montum, Sylas took control of it with his telekinesis, sending it flying back toward the carriage it ca from.

The Sanguara archer was taken aback, not expecting such a thing. Sylas had already shown several abilities that he had never used against Ebison. Most couldn't even hope to use their telekinesis to carry their own body weight, let alone take control of an arrow flying so fast.

But there was no ti. If the arrow hit the carriage— BOOM!

The arrow suddenly exploded, Sylas' Spatial Casting taking root on the F-Grade Runes that layered its body and forcing it to implode.

The lines of various shaded greens in Sylas' irises weaved and danced as he activated his Unravelling Pupils. The structure of the carriage collapsed and the carriage exploded.

Suddenly, the rest of the Sanguara also found themselves falling through the air.

Things had happened so fast that only two arrows had a chance to fire before it felt like the situation changed. The other Demon carriages weren't even aware of what was happening yet.

Sylas hoped that they would all just fall from the skies, but he knew he likely wouldn't be so lucky. Instead, he had already slapped his palms together, his Aether churning inside of him in waves.

A raging lightning pulsed around him, soaring in strands so thick it looked as though his own Demonic Serpentes were dancing around him.

He unleashed a roar, his hair dancing through the air as it all clicked into place.

[Glassvolt Throne (FF-) (Growth Skill)] (Fragnted Mastery) [Stand in the skies and draw it into your command, increase the power of your Glassvolt Aether beyond the realms of what your body can handle… but its power will be

dependent on your understanding of the world you stand in] —

This world was capped at Level 100. Compared to any other world that Sylas had ever been in, it was by far the weakest and most susceptible to the effects of Glassvolt Throne.

After Sylas' Glassvolt Marquis Gene Class had beco Glassvolt Duke, Glassvolt Throne had upgraded once again, from an F- Growth Skill to an FF- one.

The results were imdiate.

Chi.

Sylas' Scorpion Warlord Armor snapped into place, his tail flickering as a dense, 100 Foundation Glassvolt Rune danced with intense power within it.

BOOM!

The carriage of the Blazara exploded, their red skin blazing like the sun as inky black, bat-like wings extended from their backs. As though the most loyal of servants, they dove forward to catch the Sanguara.

There were only five Sanguara total, but the Blazara were far more nurous, numbering in the dozens.

"Kill him!" the archer Sanguara roared, pointing at Sylas as he plumted from the skies.

Sylas' eyes flashed with streaks of lightning, erald bolts dancing out of their corners as he exhaled a breath.

He had to decide. What did he want to do here? Did he want to kill? Or did he want to escape?

His gaze flickered down toward where the Duke was falling, only to find that the latter still had his gaze firmly locked onto him. He was waiting for sothing, the right mont to—

The Duke's gaze suddenly flashed and he roared as though a restriction had finally been released. Sylas felt sothing batter against his Will, ramming against it like a heavy, octane drill, piercing through with a great deal of montum.

Sylas' mind rattled and he took a step back, his Will barely stabilizing itself a mont later.

The Duke's eyes opened wide while Sylas was disoriented for a mont, so much so that the latter almost didn't react to three Blazara surrounding him in a brief instant of ti, their black, leathery wings blotting out the sun, and their equally black pitchforks raking across space itself.

Sylas hadn't been able to grasp why they would use such unconventional weapons, but this was the second ti he was seeing them attack now and he felt like they had the odd ability to scrape across the sh of Reality itself.

As though shoveling piles of hay, it pulled on the net and hurled it all at once.

It was a great ability.

Unfortunately, it was the worst sort to use against Sylas.

They found their pitchforks suddenly stuck, the sh of Reality having solidified several tis over under the effects of the True Pride Seed.

Sylas raised a hand, twisting it in the air, and he seed to pass right through the danger, his other hand slashing down.

The motion seed to mimic the pitchforks and his palm beca heavier and heavier as it slamd down onto a Blazara's head.

He saw sothing and he copied it in an instant.

The result?

A splattering, shattered head, raining blood, gore, and brain matter as a headless corpse fell through the air.

Sylas sucked in a large breath and the Gluttony Seed pulsed.

The Blazara's blood was sucked into his body as a rain of fire fell from above.

Using the buff to his fire affinity for a brief instant, Sylas shot through it.

\[Glassvolt Prison Arts].

Glass Aether coalesced into a mighty lance, sparkling like crystalline erald and dancing with bolts of lightning.

Sylas' eyes flashed. For a mont, it seed he was going to aim at the Blazara, but he didn't.

His lips parted and he spoke the Duke's na once again.

In Ancient Ithkuil.

BANG!
