Now reading: Chapter 1295: Casteel and Wenrii (2) from Genetic Ascension, a Action novel by Awespec.

BANG!

Sylas vanished in a flicker of lightning, closing in on Wenrii so fast it seed as though he had teleported there.

In these three months, it would be foolish to think that Sylas hadn’t improved even more. His speed of ascent was far greater than most could fathom.

While he had struggled with Tiere before, the Sylas of right now wouldn’t let her last to a second exchange. These two might be far stronger than their deceased junior... but so was he.

Wenrii seed to be ready for Sylas, but he instantly parlayed [Glassvolt Shift] into [Primal Step]. For a straightforward bolt of lightning, his steps beca andering and hard to follow, drifting from side to side, almost dull in so ways, and then suddenly sharp.

A fist ripped through Wenrii’s armor, rotating Space Runes forming around Sylas’ wrist. It felt for a mont like his punch carried the weight and pull of a black hole, making Wenrii’s forr suction almost look like a joke.

He slapped out a palm toward the arm swinging her neck attack, and then slashed out a claw across her chest.

Streaks of black and silver followed it as though he was less so tearing through her body and more so tearing through space itself.

Then he suddenly flickered and vanished.

A stomping hoof of silver fell from above right where Sylas had just been as Wenrii coughed up mouthfuls of blood.

Casteel had successfully ford the Third Layer of his armor, and Sylas had been wrong for once. Every Layer was perfectly at the Flesh Mastery level.

It wasn’t just this, but there seed to be a technique—.

’No, not a technique. It’s the Unique Gene.’

That was when Sylas rembered. Gralith told him not to fuse with the Unique Gene until he felt that he had gotten everything he needed out of the Armor. What he didn’t account for was the fact that the Unique Gene and the Third Layer of the Armor had a synergistic effect, making the armor probably a magnitude more powerful than it would be for others.

That was to say that if Sylas absorbed the Scorpion F-Grade Unique Gene right now, the most powerful state of his armor would increase by 10x, if not more.

The power boost his armor gave him was already well into the six figures, almost at seven by now as he continued to push his Mastery closer and closer to 100%.

At 91%, he got 650,000. At 92%... there was a 100,000 for every percent at that height. By the ti he got to 100%, where there might be another massive leap, he would make the Leava Clan’s current number one on the Combat Matrix Leaderboard look completely insignificant.

But right now, he couldn’t absorb that Unique Gene. He had yet to perfect his Armor, and he had yet to unearth the secrets of the Armor either.

However, this Casteel was currently displaying a power boost close to that of his best Mastery due to this synergistic effect.

Suddenly, the battle had beco several tis more difficult because of his curiosity.

Sylas realized that with these synergistic effects, he had actually lost the chance to use his Runeweaver Profession completely. There was sothing about the Unique Gene that anchored the armor into reality. Unless he disrupted that connection first, he couldn’t force the armor to Unravel.

By the sa token, if the armor was injured, it would actually reform by absorbing Aether on its own as well. It had well and truly beco a part of the body with its own healing factor.

’Better than I thought.’

Another stomp ca from above, this one even more powerful than the last. It seed to be building up montum with every stomp.

Sylas flickered and vanished again, but this ti, it actually followed him. When he appeared once more, it was still above his head.

Taking a slow breath, Sylas exhaled.

Alright... it seed that he had played around enough. He had learned what he wanted to learn. There was indeed a lot more to learn in the Sanctum than he knew, which also ant that this trip was well worth it.

There would be more to this place than just learning the higher-tier versions of the Scorpion Warlord Armor.

Sylas exhaled another breath, this ti steam radiating out from his mouth as his hair rose into the air.

He pointed a finger to the skies.

Chi.

A hole, so tiny it was barely perceptible, was torn through the Rhino stomp descending from above.

Casteel scread, feeling as though a piece of his Will had been torn out of him.

A sharp aura erupted from Sylas as his Will seed to have sothing new added to it, a spatial blade forming with a warping erald and silver color to it.

Blade Aura.

Sylas had more than one thing that seed to be the bane of these geniuses of Sanctum. His Runeweaver Profession was certainly one. But everything in this organization seed built on Will. If yours was weak, or you t an opponent with a stronger one, it almost felt like...

You were bound to lose.

Building montum? Locking onto his presence? This was a Will Skill, one that Sylas had never seen, and yet intimately understood the mont he was targeted with it.

Rather than trying to learn from these two he pressed beneath his feet whenever he wanted... wouldn’t it be better to quickly deal with them and go learn on his own ti?

BANG!

He appeared before Wenrii, the spatial blade mixed of his Will and Casteel’s concentrating into a gauntlet on his fists. He punched through the hole he had ford before she could even react, a burst of blood and gore coming from her back.

Pulling back, he shook his wrist, cleaning his hand of the crimson liquid that coated it thoroughly before he looked toward Casteel who was already gearing up another attack.

Sylas’ gaze casually shifted to the weapon he was ready to swing. His Spatial Casting took hold of one of the core F-Grade Runes. And then... he violently shrunk it.

BOOM!

The treasure in Casteel’s hand exploded, taking his arm with it. He was probably quite proud of that E-Grade Treasure he wielded. Never did he expect it would end his chances at victory so unceremoniously.
