Sylas’ body felt like it was floating on air for a mont, thoughts and feelings he couldn’t describe running through his body.

’What is this?’

It didn’t feel like he had just integrated a Gene at all. It felt more like he had added a new Layer to his body. No, more specifically, it was like his Scorpion Warlord Armor had been added to every one of his Layers.

’It didn’t just change my Genes, it’s changing every Layer beneath it...’

He could feel it in his Blood Essence, his Bone Essence, his Comprehension, his Soul Constructs, his Will Manifestation, his Will Core—even his Race Quintessence.

Down to his Potential itself, it was morphing and changing him into what was almost a completely different person.

The feeling made Sylas wonder...

Was it even possible for him to Extricate this Gene now? Would it even reverse all of this? Was this the real reason he had to be cautious when he—

BOOM!

A pillar of light shot out of Sylas, and the entire Scorpion Sanctum shook.

The image of a scorpion was painted across the skies, its erald carapace shimring like crystal. It looked beautiful in a way it shouldn’t have even been capable of.

The Scorpion was ant to be a grotesque creature, stabbing you in the back and burying itself beneath the sands of ti.

But now, it carried a majestic aura to it, snipping at the skies with its claws and swinging its stinger through the clouds.

...

Khan looked up from where he was about to seclude himself, feeling a bit speechless.

’He... still hadn’t absorbed it?’

...

Gralith stood in the sa spot high in the mountains, his hands clasped behind his back. There seed to be a hint of relief in the depths of his eyes.

It wasn’t relief caused by the phenona, but rather relief that Sylas had decided to take the Gene in.

At the very least... this ant that he could stop worrying about the worst-case scenario.

As for what would be triggered after all of this, he couldn’t say.

But for now, Sylas would still be a mber of this Sanctum. That was enough.

When it ca to this phenonon though...

"Master, master!" Gwenu hurried over. She should still be on bed rest, especially with a big battle still coming over the horizon, but clearly, she was too curious for all of that.

"Mm?"

"What is that? I’ve never seen it before!"

Half of her wanted to go and bug Sylas instead, but she still seed to have so propriety. Sylas had been sitting out in the open all this ti, but he was clearly focused on his training.

"That?" Gralith looked up. "It’s the Sanctum’s acknowledgent."

"What do you an?" Gwenu blinked.

"It happens when soone has ford a new viable path for the Sanctum."

"A new..." Gwenu was confused for a mont before her eyes widened. "He modified the Warlord Armor?!"

Gralith didn’t respond directly, still looking up into the skies.

"If you want to learn sothing, I would advise you find sowhere to ditate. The Will being distilled by your junior brother’s—"

"He’s my senior brother now!" Gwenu said proudly.

Gralith looked over toward Gwenu, who suddenly beca a bit sheepish, wanting to hide behind him.

"You are my third disciple, Gwenu. I have high hopes for you. Do not beco complacent."

Gwenu looked down to the ground, feeling a bit embarrassed.

"I know that you feel responsible for what’s been happening, but whether you acted or not, these things would move along as they are. And even if you were responsible, sotis there are certain matters that you cannot back down from even if it ans death.

"Here, you have a family. Whether they are your juniors or your seniors, they’ll take responsibility for you. You don’t need to belittle yourself.

"What too many disciples of the Sanctum don’t understand is that our Beast Warlord Sanctum isn’t a sect of Rune Mastery, it isn’t a sect of battle or war—it’s a sect of Will first and foremost. The mont you allow yours to wane, you will never reach your goals."

Gwenu blinked and then looked up to find that her master was looking at her with a focused gaze.

She clenched her fists and nodded strongly just a single ti.

"Good. Now go see what you can learn."

After saying this, Gralith, too, took a seat.

"Master, you..."

Gralith didn’t respond, but his actions were clear enough. There was no one too young to be a teacher.

Gwenu blinked and then plopped down as well.

...

Sylas stared into the skies, feeling the changes to his body. After a mont, he began to pay attention to every little detail.

He realized... that this change here was exactly what he needed to focus on.

If his goal in the future was to forge his own Beast Armor, then this feeling... this was the one that he wanted to grasp.

He sat there, basking in it, and the days shifted and moved around him.

When it all slowly ca to a close, he sohow felt like a completely different person. He even felt that if not for the fact the Scorpion wasn’t compatible with his Race, he might have actually beco a C-Grade Human Simioid.

But the irony was that now that he had absorbed it, he wouldn’t be able to use the Ape Gene to improve his Race now.

Even so, this didn’t disappoint Sylas. Instead... he felt like there was sothing he had gained that couldn’t be asured in just a few words or stats.

Sylas was unfocused for a mont, and his eyes dilated.

Bolts of lightning suddenly shot out from his pupils, razing the trees before him to the ground.
