The reading didn’t even look right. They were all Rune Masters, and their processing speeds left most in the dust. However, even they felt like their sight must have made so sort of mistake.
They cross-referenced with their mories, trying to see what must have gone wrong, what problems could have possibly been triggered. And yet, no matter what they did, they couldn’t find anything wrong.
Defeating the previous records was one thing. They were hardly related to Rune Mastery and were mostly a product of one’s Unique Genes. What thods one had of drawing Runes faster was usually a asure of auxiliary Rune Master abilities rather than one’s raw abilities.
But this... Breath Mastery was considered the lowest boundary of being accepted as a true Rune Master. It was the first level most actually cared about, while those beneath were usually just considered apprentices without much use.
That was to say that the gap in skill between those at the top and those at the bottom would only beco more obvious at this very point.
And Sylas...
He defeated the number two by a full nine minutes. And that was after purposely standing still for ten full seconds as though he wanted to do nothing more than prove a point.
He was telling the world that he wasn’t just speaking because he could, and he wasn’t soone who led by his tongue.
He spoke out only because the situation required it, because he needed the world to know who Sylas Grimblade was right now.
However, if one mistook his talk for bloviating, assuming it to be sothing he did to overcompensate for what he was incapable of doing...
They would be sorely mistaken.

"Holy shit..." Khan mumbled.
He could accomplish the sa thing, but... he was on the verge of becoming a C-Grade Rune Master, sothing he would likely accomplish in a few months’ ti at worst.
F-Grade Runes, at this point, were child’s play to him.
But to do this as an F-Grade Rune Master... it was a feat the likes of which he couldn’t explain.
Cassarae raised an eyebrow a bit, and then she scoffed. Half of her wanted Sylas to perform exactly this well, the other half of her wanted him to be knocked down a peg. She was certain he had done sothing behind her back the more she interacted with him, she just wasn’t sure what it was yet.
In the end, scoffing was her best option.
Beating the All-Ti Record by what looked like an infinite margin, all because the item spirit wasn’t even accurate enough to weed it down to milliseconds... that was the sort of gap that couldn’t be explained with words.
"This is the Leava Clan? Aren’t they supposed to be Rune Master powerhouses or sothing?" Cassarae asked.
Several gazes landed on her. The most intense were certainly those of the Leava Clan. But what could they say at this point?
To the side, Wei’s eyes were also opened wide.
It was just Breath Mastery. She kept trying to tell herself that. But they all had the reality of it all pinned to the backs of their minds already.
There was only one level of Mastery that could allow such a thing.
Spark Mastery.
Among them all, Magnus and a certain D-tier Thryskai were the most shaken. Words Sylas had spoken less than a month ago roared in their ears again and again.
"What is wrong?" Vaernon asked with a narrowed gaze.
Neither of them replied, so Vaernon had to ask again, this ti several tis more forcefully.
"He..." Magnus started slowly. "...Before his body with Urolius, he said he was a Spark Master. We just didn’t believe him."
Vaernon’s eyes shone bright when he heard this. However, after a long while, his gaze slowly dimd and relaxed.
Sylas’ performance was excellent. Far too excellent to ignore. However, this Breath Mastery performance wasn’t enough to guarantee that he was a Spark Master, though he was likely the strongest Vitality Master this Sector had ever seen at the very worst.
But the real reason Vaernon was calm had nothing to do with this. It was because... even if Sylas won the F-tier competition, it didn’t matter. They would win the E-tier, D-tier, and C-tier levels handily.
How strong Sylas grew wouldn’t really impact them. If he insisted on continuing to stand in their way, they could also just find a way to kill him.
The rest of it all wouldn’t matter.
Unfortunate for Vaernon, though, the dismissal of Breath Mastery as not a significant sign of Spark Mastery didn’t last very long. In fact, it didn’t even last until the next round.

The silence across the Sector was practically deafening. It felt like they were watching the resurrection of a legend right before their eyes.
Sylas had co out of nowhere, but his reputation had already beco akin to a beast roaring across all of their skies.
Furon had had a good reputation. But only as good as an F-tier could be. Ultimately, many expected him to get lost in the swarm of E-tiers once he progressed, where he would have to claw his way back up from the bottom.
He would certainly reach the top one again given his performance amongst the F-tiers, but he would probably have to rely on timing and aging out his competition as well.
But Sylas...
This was a man on a completely different level. This was a man who crushed the F-tier in the very palm of his hands, suffocating his competition such that they couldn’t even raise their heads.
He was here with five other geniuses, each one with excellent performances.
And yet, their faces had practically been erased from public mory.
