Sylas appeared in the ship to find that no one was there waiting for him. Well, there were still the sa three people on the ship, but when it ca to those that were actually present and waiting, that number was zero.

Brama was likely tinkering with his new projects, Alex was either bugging him or watching in hopes of picking up sothing from his legacy, while Jala was probably doing the sa thing he always did when Sylas and Alex weren't there to order him around.

Training.

As much of a mopey fool Jala seed to be, Sylas had noticed that the man did nothing but work when he had the chance.

Before he was under lockdown by Alex, and by extension Sylas, Jala couldn't go off and gather resources on his own, so he had taken a different approach to training.

Sylas waved a hand and a video feed was fed to him through his status screen. He found a room where Jala was beading with sweat, drilling the sa Skill over and over again.

This was about the sa he could expect from Jala. If nothing else, the young man who had had the determination to tell The Professors to go fuck themselves still had his heart—and his balls, for that matter.

The trouble was that that sa stubbornness that had allowed him to do that—and ironically benefit Sylas in the end—was the exact sa reason he was still so stubborn now.

There was nothing he wanted to do more than break free of Alex and get revenge. But things weren't so easy, and he wasn't nearly talented enough either.

Sotis, Sylas wondered what he would do if he was in Jala's position. But he didn't really need to think about it, because he had once been in a similar situation, and there was no telling if he wouldn't be in such a similar situation in the future once more.

Back when he first ended up in the Grimblade family compound, he didn't even consider himself a Grimblade. The only reason he embraced the na now was because he was the Grimblades. He was their Patriarch, their head, the core of what they were.

To him, it had never been about the Brown family na. He didn't care what his last na was. He just didn't want soone else to dictate who he was just because.

Even so, he also wasn't the sort to just lash out like Jala did.

When the ti wasn't right, and he was too weak, he followed the rules of the Grimblades and did as he was told.

In truth, the only reason he ever clashed with the Grimblades in the first place was because he had too little information. If not for the fact the Grimblades could see through his blind spots because he was too ignorant of the world around him, he could have played them to the very end without even having to shed a drop of blood.

By comparison, Jala should know far more now than Sylas ever knew back then, but he was unable to control his emotions and wore his heart too freely on his sleeve.

Sylas only had one word to evaluate him.

'Fool.'

It was harsh, especially for soone who had lost their entire family and Race the way Jala had, but Sylas also wasn't one to care about such things. He wasn't moved by sentintality in most instances, and he had very little room for affection and caring.

If not for the fact Jala was connected to that mysterious Race of Earth, Sylas would have already killed such a ticking ti bomb.

But… then there was Alex, who was far more dangerous than Jala could ever be.

Now this was a man who truly knew how to hide his emotions. He did it differently than Sylas did, wearing that smile on his face and grinning everywhere he went, but the function was much the sa.

His improvent was even faster than Jala's was. He soaked up everything he could from Brama like a sponge, and he happily used Sylas' resources when he got the chance.

Of course, his stats had still yet to even break triple digits, but his improvent was better than 50% in these last few months, while Jala, despite seemingly working far harder, was inferior in every sense of the word.

Until now, Sylas still hadn't quite decided what to do with them.

Tssssss.

A door opened to the lobby Sylas was standing in, Old Brama coming back with blinking eyes.

He looked at Sylas, and then toward the outside of the windows, and then back at Sylas.

Alex appeared behind him, not very far away. But he was just looking at Sylas the entire ti, his expression a bit weird and all the more difficult to read because of it.

The both of them were having the sa thought.

What the hell?

One would think that after seeing what Sylas had done in the Rune Master Secret Realms, there would be nothing that could shock them anymore. But this… Alex cleared his throat. "Say… Psycho Syl… what kind of reward do you get for that kind of placent?"

Sylas didn't answer. Instead, he asked a question.

"The group that quit before I went in, have they registered themselves again?"

Alex blinked, not really knowing why Sylas was asking this question at first. But then, seemingly thinking of sothing, his eyes narrowed.

Could it be?

Alex went to check the list, but imdiately shook his head.

"No. They haven't."

"What did they originally register their na as?"

Sylas would normally rember sothing like this, but he had never checked personally. It was these three that had told him that the queue changed.

"Just sothing random. They called themselves The Crown of Thorns Duo."

"Crown of Thorns?"

Sylas' eyes flickered and then narrowed.

Maybe?

He had learned about many Races thanks to Androda. A few he took special note of because of the existence of the Dogons.

Bone control and manipulation always stood out to him, though he couldn't pinpoint exactly why just yet.

But this Race stood out to him for that reason as well.

The Ossarans.
