Sylas felt as though the Aether in his body was being pulled by a greater existence, almost like a God had reached down from the skies and pierced a hand through his chest, yanking at his heart.

His arteries and veins snapped, the valves of his most precious organ squeezing and bursting beneath the pressure.

it was nothing more than an illusion, and yet his heart constricted just the sa, his skin turning red under the strain so much so that the scales that coated him began to glow the very sa crimson through the cracks and crevices that separated them.

The forest all around them began to die in real ti, a strong lifeforce that once suffused it all pooling into the King Serpent's body as it grew stronger and larger.

It had already been kiloters in length, but it more than doubled in size in an instant, reaching over 50 kiloters in the blink of an eye.

Sylas couldn't even read its state anymore, but his Will remained just as sharp. He knew that in that mont, the King Serpent's Physical stats had blood to over seven digits, a shocking number that made space bend and whine beneath its might.

BANG.

A tail swept out and crashed against Sylas' body. It was fast to the point of feeling like a skill had been deployed, so shockingly swift that even Sylas' senses almost missed it despite the passive ti dilation abilities of his Progenitor Fla.

The entire front of his Scorpion Warlord Armor shattered, the back responding in kind in a vain attempt to spread out the damage.

Blood splattered out of his mouth more than it shot out, splintering between his teeth and lips in a spray that burnt away in a mist of violence.

Pain would have overwheld his senses first and foremost if not for the second attack that was coming no less swiftly.

The roar of the King Serpent peeled across the skies, bolts of black and grey descending into its open maw. Its blackened scales pulsed with life as though it had swallowed a silver sun, rays peeking out from the splits in its scales as its throat expanded.

The echoes of its enraged words still hung in the air, booming across the do of the skies akin to claps of thunder and rending the clouds into a churning ss of radiant power.

Die. Die. Die.

And then it breathed.

BADUM.

A gulp sank deep into its belly, descending down from its bulging throat and then shot out of its maw like a cannon.

The sound was so loud it couldn't be described, so loud it swallowed up everything in its wake and made one feel as though the universe had fallen into complete silence until the screeching remnants of one's eardrums pulsed with what life remained of it.

A concentrated ball of black and silver energy charged forth and swallowed Sylas even faster than the sound waves it produced did. Maybe he wouldn't have the chance to assess what his eardrums did their best to pass along to him at all as he was completely buried.

The King Serpent raised its head arrogantly into the skies, so tall the cyclone of clouds above practically beca its own crown.

The fury that colored its features was only barely satiated by Sylas' death and the feeling of lancholy it was awash with as it realized this death likewise ant the death of Gogo.

A child who certainly didn't deserve any of this at all.

The flas in its eyes dimd as it looked toward the lake it had called ho for so long. Shaking its head, it realized it was going to have to take so ti to reconstruct t.

But that was when all the sound of the world seed to rush back and the King Serpent's head snapped toward the direction of splintering ground.

A young man covered in charred and atrophying flesh slowly stood. His body looked as though it should have been experiencing the most excruciating pain a man could, and yet those eyes... So calm, so placid, so completely unbothered and most importantly, unhard.

It was like he had stared death in the face and returned like nothing at all had happened. The King Serpent was right to be shocked. Sylas should have died to that attack, and in maybe any other situation, he certainly would have died.

Unfortunately for the King Serpent, the abilities it used to grow so powerful were the last piece Sylas needed to comprehend the world he was in.

And because it was a Serpent using these abilities...

[Your understanding of has deepened]( has reached Bronze Mastery]

Chi.

A bolt of lightning fell from the skies and into Sylas' palm. It was as long as a pole connecting the heaven and earth in one mont, and yet fit into his palm in the next as though it had never been so grandiose.

Sylas took a step forward, what was left of his clothing dancing in the wind as it picked up beneath his rising aura.

And then he launched the javelin in his hand.

The King Serpent's eyes sharpened. It had yet to disperse the life force it had forcefully taken. Dealing with this would be child's play.

Or so it thought.

PCHU.

The concentrated bolt of erald lightning ripped right through the King Serpent. At first it was nothing more than a hole the equivalent of a paper cut to a human—or maybe even smaller than that. But in the next instant, the eyes of the World Serpent widened. Chi.

An enormous hole was blown through its body, looking as though a creature larger than even it had bitten right into the atiest, most vulnerable part of its body.

Sylas walked forward, a halo of gold appearing around him. He began to rapidly heal in real ti, and by the ti he took his third step, it was already as though the King Serpent had never hurt him in the first place.

"Kneel."
