"What?"

Fowler's gaze flashed with fury. The drones weren't his own personal creation, but their communication hubs were personally crafted by him.

His proprietary Rune sh allowed him to have semi-sentient chanisms work together, creating the illusion of a single mind from a hive. It was precisely the concept of a hive mind that he was trying to reflect in real life.

It could be said that this was his magnum opus, and it was also his secret to entering the B-tier, sothing he felt he was infinitely close to.

The less your talent was, the harder it was to complete a Foundation. And unless a Foundation reached a certain standard, it would never be good enough to reach the next stage.

Fowler had been stuck at Level 200 for a very long ti. For many, the bottleneck they would reach was one where the Aether of beasts they killed and devoured—or people, for that matter—would never be enough to allow them to move forward.

While it was the case that the more talented you were, the more Mature Aether you needed for every level, there was an inverted bell curve of sorts where the less talented you were, the more Mature Aether you needed likewise. In fact, the closer you were to your biological limits, the closer to infinity that requirent beca.

This limit was often decided by your Race. Though, it was possible to push beyond if you were near the limits of a Grade.

For example, Earth had produced so weak E-tiers despite the fact their ancestors were only F-Grade Humans. However, they were all stuck at Level 51and had no chance of reaching D-tier in their lifetis unless they upgraded their Races.

The lower the tier in question, the looser these requirents were. But as you went up, the harsher they beca.

For soone to reach the B-tier as a mber of a C-Grade Race like Fowler was, they had to be at least a mber of a C Race, and they needed a great breakthrough or opportunity.

That said, even if you were a mber of a B Race, the chances of ever reaching the A- tier were so minimal there might as well be no chance at all.

There was very good reason their Milky Way Sector didn't have a single B-tier to their na.

This was Fowler's obsession, and his swarms were the baby he had been nurturing for a very long ti. The idea that a single ship was wiping them out wasn't just ridiculous, it was a complete insult.

He would like to see if that would still happen if he personally took control of them. Standing violently to his feet, a wave of telekinetic strength spread out in all directions, carrying so much strength and power his attendant had his chest caved in, spurts of blood flying through the air.

Patriarch Dazeth had been a ticking ti bomb ever since the death of his son.

The Trakar weren't known for their loving side. But they valued their heirs maybe more than any other Race.

Patriarch Dazeth had lost count of the number of children he had sired. But Thalrik had been the very best... he would have surpassed him in the future, becoming the second C-tier of their family.

But he had died a miserable death before he could ascend, falling at the hands of a re F-Grade Human. Check latest chapters at novel⸺fire

The number of resources Patriarch Dazeth had poured into trying to find Sylas and his ho world in this ti was nothing short of astronomical. But no matter what he did, he hadn't been able to find Earth nor Sylas.

Earth was a Summoned World that had only recently completed its trials. It would be another two months before it could be found by bad actors.

As for Sylas... he had long left the galaxy to explore a scope of the world Patriarch Dazeth had simply never seen.

So how could he have succeeded in either? In fact, he had no idea the kind of storm he was trying to stir...

Until one day he was contacted.

He still had no idea who this person was, and much of what happened felt like little more than a blur and an incongruence of events. But the end result was him finding a connection with an unexpected person.

Fowler Leava.

It was a na that shattered waves in the Sector, and yet one that the four-ard Patriarch hadn't even heard of until just weeks prior. This sort of gap in fundantal understanding should have been enough for the Patriarch to understand just how far out of his depth he was... If he was ever given this information in the first place, that is. instead, he was under the impression that he was working partners with Fowler. Together, they were creating a bridge to the Milky Way Galaxy.

Patriarch Dazeth didn't really understand the ins and outs of it all, but according to what had been put to him in layman's terms, so long as Fowler completed his swarm by the ti their galaxy was opened to the world once more, he would be able to use the final wave of evolution to tinker with his swarm just enough that he wouldn't be hindered by the suppression of the Milky Way Galaxy.

Of course... this wasn't how it was explained to Dazeth, not completely.

Rather than speaking of suppression, Patriarch Dazeth was told that the swarm would be able to use this ingrained connection with the Milky Way Galaxy to complete a full scan of it in a matter of weeks, allowing it to find every planet connected to the System.

One didn't need to guess why Patriarch Dazeth was interested in this at this point... Having such a thing in his back pocket would an that he would be able to find Earth in a matter of days.

The thing the idiotic Patriarch had yet to grasp was how exactly he supposedly fit into this plan as anything other than a pawn.

“Patriarch. There's an unidentified object crossing the barrier into the galaxy. It's moving fast. We think it's a person!"
