Malikhi felt like he had just been shaking his head only monts ago. Trying to strain against the rulebook was ridiculous. An F-tier Will wouldn't even make it 5% of the way at that pace, and it seed that others were well aware of this.

Many took a glance out of curiosity, not only because an F-tier that old was a true oddity, but because anyone attempting to take on the rulebook was bound to give them an interesting show. Either the Ancestral Runes would light up and they could gain a quick bit of insight, or they would see soone make a fool of themselves.

Either way, it was great.

But after seeing the way Sylas started, it essentially felt to them like they were watching a child take their first steps. The difference was that this child was almost 30 years old, and he was stumbling through sothing a real child could have perford 10 tis better at.

At that point, they didn't even care to continue. There were only a few that were truly baffled by it all.

You weren't even able to step in here unless you were at least a Spark Master at F-tier. How had soone like Sylas even managed to make it here? Who passed his assessnt, exactly?

Swiftly, the crowd was split into two-one half that couldn't be bothered to waste their ti on such nonsense, and another much smaller portion that was trying to understand what nonsense they were experiencing.

And then Sylas suddenly moved.

He was still on the first set of pages when his palm slapped down. For a mont, they thought he was frustrated by sothing and wanted to give up.

At that point, even despite his father's discontent, Ulan couldn't help but sneer. He couldn't even hide it from his face at this point.

He had no idea why his father would have such a high opinion of a fool, but here it was. Maybe the old man would finally admit that there were tis when he was wrong too and finally release so of his reins.

Even Malikhi himself couldn't help but frown. It was just very odd, this didn't seem like sothing—

Sylas' palm landed. He raised it again and slamd it down again.

The pages lit up, and the glass encasent reacted in kind. Every ti a set of pages in the rulebook was completed, the so-called Ancestral Runes would react. These Ancestral Runes were ford by the Weaver Rune Language.

When Sylas first began his journey of Rune Mastery, he learned about the several languages there were. But he had long reached the point where they all blended into one another, and he used them all seamlessly.

Sotis he would see things from certain Rune Languages that caught his attention, and he would casually take on portions of them for himself.

So languages were simply better at certain things than others. Though, there was a subset of Rune Languages known as General Rune Languages. These General Rune Languages were attempts at consolidating the strengths of countless languages into one. Or, there were so that were very focused on a certain subset of abilities but were still wide enough in scope that they could be considered General.

The Sanctum's Rune Language fell into this latter category, but as a much more perfect language, the Weaver Rune Language fell into the forr category.

The problem was... Sylas felt no need to have a General Rune Language. Maybe at higher Tier levels, it would be necessary. In fact, maybe because he had never had such a high-level General Rune Language, it had taken him longer to reach Pure Spark Mastery than it should have.

But what he did know was that in the F-tier...

A language would only harm him.

Every one of them was attempting to be the void, but they could never encompass all that the void represented. Ultimately, each and every one of them failed.

At that mont, Sylas touched onto the faintest edges of sothing even greater... the corner of the fabric of what could create a system.

What else was a system if not an attempt to perfectly recreate the void and all it was?

He didn't need such a thing. In the F-tier, he was the system, he was the void.

The spectators watched as he slamd down his palm for a final ti.

The Ancestral Runes sang, a surge of light churning across the air. Currents of Aether concentrated themselves in such large tides they manifested in the air as though ocean waters crashing against the shores of their guild.

Sylas found himself frozen in place, the Ancestral Runes lighting up fiercer and fiercer. From the outside, it even looked like the glass was on the verge of shattering to pieces, each Rune being etched into the thick glass as though carved out by a guillotine.

BANG.

They fused into a golden beam that pierced Sylas' forehead.

A surge erupted through Sylas' body, his veins becoming painted in gold. But it wasn't a change that was taking place in his body itself. Or, rather, not his whole body. Instead, it was almost like his eyes were excavating more space, more potential, supplying themselves with more blood, Aether, and Will.

It was like his body was being remapped and rewired for his eyes, and with every pulsing change that took place, the future paths and doors that opened up before him grew wider, and wider, and wider still.

Sylas hadn't paid much attention to his new Profession yet, but at this point, it felt overwhelming to the point he couldn't ignore it even if he wanted to.

And right at that mont, he was certain of sothing else as well.

There wouldn't be a single bottleneck all the way up to the C-tier like this. His eyes were reaching a new level entirely.
