Genetic Ascension Chapter 1929: Explosion of Power

Sylas exhaled a breath.

It felt almost like an illusion. It was only his brain that had advanced to the Demi-God Realm, and he could feel that it was draining a significant portion of the energy of his body. Yet, that one change made it feel like everything else had entered a new plane as well.

His neurons fired faster, his muscles contracted with more deft accuracy and synergy, even the smooth muscles that he didn't consciously control began to work with increasing efficiency.

He didn't even need to check to know that the effectiveness of his stats had reached an entirely new level. Even without improving his body to the Demi-God Realm as well, it hardly mattered in the short term. It felt like his power had increased by at least 20% in terms of raw output alone.

Given the fact his stats were now in the tens of millions, this wasn't a small change by any asure.

And if one factored in just how much sharper Sylas' battle sense would be with the changes to his mind, the change wasn't as minor as a re 20%.

'This is just a portion of the strength Demi-Gods have.' Sylas thought to himself.

If there was this much change from his brain evolving alone, what were those born into Demi-Godhood like?

The largest change Sylas felt, though, was to his Will and Charisma. It was like his Will had finally begun to unfold and display its true percentage.

The way he felt was like if before he had been trying to use a perfectly spherical ball of water to moisten and wet things. But now, that sphere of water had flattened out into a stretch of water instead. Now, his efficiency with drenching things was several levels better.

His Will had infinite segnts, but it could only make use of so many at any one given ti.

It seed that the elevation of his mind was allowing him to use more of it.

But also, just like his Madness Key had said, his Charisma had also blood to an unimaginable level. He was quite literally forcing the world around him to display more information than it normally would.

On the one hand, this was overloading his senses and costing him larger and larger amounts of energy to sustain. But on the other, a single glance from Sylas seed capable of breaking down everything he saw into its component Runes, Foundations, and Strokes until there was nothing left about it that was much of a mystery at all.

Of course, the problem with that was that the world around him was made up of Runes that were extrely powerful, all the way up to the S-tier, even.

The Mortal Realm might not seem capable of producing S-tiers, but that didn't an there were small segnts of the tier here and there. And every ti Sylas ca against one-or any Rune beyond the C-tier for that matter-it felt like he was looking right into a flashbang.

'I need to filter this out. Otherwise I'll burn out in a few minutes.'

Sylas took a breath. Now that his mind wasn't constantly covered in that brain fog anymore, he had regained his original thinking speed. No, he was even faster than before. He felt sharper and he connected dots more easily.

Instantly, he felt that there were possibly three solutions to this problem.

The first possibility was just to use a variation of the glasses he had once worn back when he wasn't very good at controlling his Charisma. Back when he first gained Willborne Charisma, his eyes had been so potent he had no choice but to hide them.

Since then, his Will had proportionally grown much more powerful, and he was able to keep the reins on his Charisma with far greater ease.

These glasses, however, would have had to be exceptional in order to filter out sothing like the S-tier Runes of the world.

The second possibility was simpler, and that was just to stop using his eyes entirely for the ti being until his body caught up. Trying to find glasses powerful enough to restrain Runes like that would be a nightmare. But this was far easier.

However, Sylas didn't really want to have to restrain his sight either. Not to ntion the fact that sight was just one of his worries, he still had his other senses to consider.

While his sight was definitely the most pressing problem, mostly because of Runeweaver, it wasn't the only thing he had to consider.

That left the third possibility. He had to sohow suppress this information on his own until he actually needed it.

Sylas' eyes narrowed and his Will blood.

'As expected.'

"Hey! What do you think you're doing?"

Sylas didn't reply. It was like a small gate in the back of his mind had been opened up, filtering through his eyes. A small sliver of the Hydra's God Aura beca a film over his eyes, suppressing the world around him.

Or, more accurately, suppressing the information that the world around him could give him.

Sylas bet that right now, his own Will was at the Demi-God level. He could definitely cast Demi-God Runes now if he was in a Demi-God world.

That was to say that if Sylas wanted to, he could suppress the information Mortal Worlds were sending him with his own Demi-God Will. But he couldn't do this here because this fragnted world was partially speaking—a Demi- God level world. Sylas was pretty sure that was a large part of why the information was so hard for him to process and draining so much of his energy.

As such, he needed the Hydra's Will here. But a small bit of it was enough until he could learn to restrain his Charisma once again.

This was better than being accused of being a Charysm once more.

Everything dimd around him and the world seed to beco a shade or two darker. In reality, everything just went back to mostly normal.

And then Sylas detected his power explode again.
