This mountain was seemingly a projection of Will, but it was a Will originating from a certain place, a place that didn't seem to actually be Earth.
But then Sylas thought of his journey to the center of the world.
Back then, he had ended up in a land with dinosaurs and powerful creatures as far as the eye could see. But then, it had suddenly beco an illusion and he instead found himself bound and bled.
He had barely survived that encounter and all this ti he thought that place was simply a projection of a dream, of expectations he thought might be reasonable, but never of sothing that was actually there.
Was he wrong?
The alignnt of the City of Gold and the Celestial Republic, the tectonic movent of Earth's plates, complex deductions he had made long ago shifted far more easily in Sylas' mind and then he abruptly vanished.
"NO."
The roars of Heaven and Fathomless fell on deaf ears. They didn't even know how Sylas had managed to disappear from their pressure in the first place. But by this point, it was already too late.
**
Sylas appeared in a world of lush volatility. It seed like an odd description, until you realized that the beauty of the forest was combined with carnivorous plants that should have long been extinct and violet UV rays from a sun that couldn't decide whether it wanted to be red or athyst.
If Sylas had stood here just months ago, he might have died imdiately. The rays alone were continuously eating away at his Will as though it wouldn't be satisfied until he was burnt to a crisp.
However, Sylas found the world to be all too familiar.
It was that very sa world he had thought to be an illusion.
But this ti...
He took a step and the healthy soil shifted beneath his feet.
... It was very much real.
And ahead, at the center of it all, was a mountain that stood as tall as a world, emitting a pressure that suppressed everything beneath it.
Sylas took another step and this ti, he was instantly at its foot.
A roar ca from the side and the snapping jaws of a T. Rex descended upon him.
Sylas frowned, ti slowing to a crawl and then completely stopping as he looked over at the creature. This wasn't actual ti stopping, but instead his perception speeding up so much that it might as well have his Progenitor Fla Ability.
Part of the reason it was so powerful now was because he was back on Earth, but a much larger part of the sudden change was because his mind was simply on another level now. He could withstand more of the reality bending by a great asure... Enough to see that this creature was far more powerful than it should be.
It wasn't Mortal. This was a Demi-God.
Sylas' body flashed and retreated.
BANG.
The T. Rex took a large chunk out of the earth, biting right through it before its large head whipped toward Sylas.
It took a step and in an instant, it was already upon Sylas.
There was a flicker in Sylas' gaze and Runes instantly appeared around him. His perception was moving so fast it was practically imdiate.
The T. Rex's jaws were surrounded by a complex magic circle of Runes.
When it tried to bite down, all of its powerful downward force reversed.
It was like a pair of mighty, god-like hands had descended and peeled its jaw apart, ripping its head in two.
The T. Rex didn't even know how it died. Even as it bled out, it couldn't understand what complex application of space it would have taken to turn its own power against it like that.
Sylas had only retreated a single ti. Even when the T. Rex appeared before him this ti, he hardly shifted.
So what if the T. Rex was a Demi-God? As far as he could tell, it was only a D-tier.
If there was Demi-God Aura here, then he could draw Demi-God Runes.
He was a Fathomless Rune Creator on the world he was the Progenitor of, using two Progenitor Fla Abilities.
What chance did it stand?
Sylas took a step forward and raised a palm. Large amounts of blood were pulled out from the T. Rex's body, forming a pool of Blood Essence pulsing with endless waves of density and might.
He sent it into the Hibernation Realm for Gogo.
Sylas could tell that the baby Basilisk King wasn't happy with him at all. Even after all the fun he had had the first ti Sylas let him out, Gogo didn't ask to be let out again like he usually did.
This would usually be the exact sort of ti that Gogo would ask to be let out the most. There were no larger Clans here, certainly no one that would want him for his bloodline. There was just wildlife and beasts.
But even now he showed no interest in coming out.
Gogo couldn't understand why Nosphaleen had to die. So what if there were two wives? If the first wife didn't like it, put her in her place and then take the second one.
It was that simple to the baby Basilisk King. And maybe even if Gogo grew and matured, that would still be his line of thinking. He was a beast, after all, who had chosen his future wife the mont he laid eyes on her.
These weren't things that Sylas could explain to Gogo. The latter could already see enough of his mind to understand, and Sylas wasn't a fan of explaining himself.
But that didn't an he wouldn't continue to treat his Contract properly.
This blood was a godsend right now. This was exactly the sort of thing that Gogo needed. Otherwise, given his Contract's current abilities, it would be extrely difficult to find things for him to eat.
Sylas sent the body into the Hibernation Realm soon afterward and then unhurriedly began to walk toward the mountain again.
Sothing told him that it would only continue to get more treacherous.
