Sylas watched as one decoy after another snapped out of it. They gasped for air, horror on their faces.
The First Race could have never imagined that their Will Formation would be broken in this way, and by soone with clearly inferior Rune Creation to their own.
But that was precisely what made Sylas' talent so fearso.
All this ti, he was functioning with a constant lack of information. The world around him was little more than a foggy ss where every direction had sothing else he had never seen, sothing else he couldn't understand.
But Rune Creation was different for him now.
The world was still covered in fog, but he was gazing upon it from the highest peak there was. He could vaguely make out so of the peaks and crevices, he could feel out the path he needed to take ahead of ti before he ever took a single step.
The level of Will control was truly shocking, and the more he thought about it, the more impressive it was. Even coordinating two Wills at a ti was near impossible.
But it gave Sylas an idea.
That pair of husband and wife with their Twin Moon Class...
It probably had such secrets within it.
And as soone with Infinite Will, he was more than likely capable of creating such elaborate formations of Will by himself.
And if he could do that, just how much more powerful would his Will be? What Constructs could he force to form?
The First Race had needed a beacon, so they had created one so powerful it could send a signal across the universe. Not just any signal, but one Sylas was certain couldn't be detected by anyone but the First Race.
How controlled was such a thing? How difficult? Yet they managed it.
What if they had decided to make a weapon instead?
Forget a weapon, what of a defensive thod?
What fascinated Sylas the most about all of this was that this wasn't a higher form of Rune Mastery, it was just a more advanced application of Rune Creation than he knew.
From what he could tell, it was probably Heaven Rune Creation. But that didn't an so aspects of this couldn't be mimicked through another path.
Sylas definitely had ti to think about all of this so more. While he had danger bearing down from all sides, there was no imdiate pull to his attention, not until the Thryskai realized they had no other choice.
So, that was what he did.
Sylas spent the next several weeks seemingly not doing much of anything. His gaze seed unfocused a lot, and even when it was focused, it was mostly spent with his wife and family.
Well, most of his family, anyway. His sister spent a lot of ti tied up to the ceiling like a piñata.
Normally, his mother didn't use corporal punishnt. But it seed she had much less misgiving when it was a puppet involved. She was practically a prisoner at this point, and forgiveness wasn't coming anyti soon.
Surprisingly or not so much if you understood Sylas-he didn't ask his sister a single question about her situation.
If he knew too much, he might not be able to stop himself from going.
So long as she was complaining from her dangling spot above them, it ant she was still alive, and that was all he cared about.
He would have his dinner, spend ti with his wife, then go back to staring out into empty space as though he had forgotten about the existence of The Sanctum and the missions he needed to complete on it.
And then he finally did receive the call he was waiting for, but it didn't co from the Thryskai.
It ca from Fanelei.
Sylas stepped back into The Sanctum casually as though he had never forgotten about them. He looked down at the wreckage that was the Monkey King Mountain with indifference, and then up to find Fanelei standing in the skies.
There was a hint of nervousness on her face, the sort that definitely shouldn't have been there for a Legend. But it was like she didn't know how to ask Sylas what she wanted to.
"The Weaver Guild needs help?" Sylas questioned.
Fanelei's lips parted, but in the end she nodded.
"It doesn't seem like this is a unilateral decision." Sylas continued.
Fanelei shook her head.
"But you would like to go anyway."
Fanelei sighed and then nodded.
Honestly speaking, the Weaver Guild had a lot of right to be angry with Sylas. He had used their Karma as collateral for a wager where they could have lost everything. Then he only gave them back not only less than what they had already had before, but he took the rest to give to soone else that suited his own purposes.
The fact they hadn't co to hunt him down like the Seeing Eye Guild had was already a great service. But... it wasn't like they had all that great an opportunity to do so anyway.
They definitely had their hands full dealing with what was undoubtedly a counter-attack from the Seeing Eye Guild.
Right now, the Seeing Eye Guild should be the center of the coming war. If they were pressuring the Weaver Guild so much despite having lost all their Karma, it could only an that they had gained support from sowhere else... That sowhere else being the Cryst Heaven.
A light smile tugged at the corner of Sylas' lips.
He wasn't all that interested in the Cryst Heaven anymore. He already had Willborne Intelligence. It was his Willborne Wisdom that was still lacking sothing to reach a final breakthrough.
However, he had a feeling that the secrets of the Thryskai and what was happening with Nosphaleen might be wrapped up in why the Cryst Heaven was suddenly being allowed to encroach onto the Skai Heaven so much.
So he might as well let heads roll until soone told him where his Nosphaleen was.
"Let's go." Sylas said.
Fanelei observed his back, baffled. She was certainly sure she hadn't imagined it. Even staring right at his face, she could hardly see it.
But was that...
A smile?
Fanelei was suddenly very worried.
If normal people smiled, this was a great thing.
If Sylas was smiling while strolling into danger...
She felt like soone was about to suffer.
And the first people on the docket were definitely the ones who wanted to reject his help in the first place.
Fanelei rubbed her temples. She really hoped Sylas didn't wipe out any of the seven Clans that ford their Guild.
