Vaelith looked at her screen maybe a little bit too calmly. It was hard to tell what she was thinking, but one would have thought by her lack of a reaction that this was exactly what she had expected to happen.
That couldn't have been further from the truth.
If anything, this was the last thing she expected to happen. She had expected to win, to stand tall and defeat Sylas, even if that meant having to overe herself and break through her own limits.
She could guess at why it was Sylas had been given this title, but even given what she knew about Creation of Keys, that alone shouldn't have been enough for this.
If Sylas had been crowned the Ancestor of Fathomless, she could accept it. But to be crowned the Ancestor of Creation was a different matter entirely.
And this…
Vaelith looked down at her feet as a crack that just so happened to run through the ground beneath her was silently sewn together.
'This will cause trouble.'
She didn't know where Sylas had e from, but she knew one truth about the world. Anyone who was powerful would always want what would make them more powerful.
Especially if that was something they couldn't get through normal means.
They would be ing.
It was hard to say how the Thryskai would react to this. The Vaelryn had suddenly been banished. So, their situation was a bit precarious.
It was risky to make an attempt to help other Heavens infiltrate their own. But would the Vaelryn have no choice but to go that far because of Sylas?
And even the other families that were already here. Would they be okay with this plete unknown suddenly taking over something they should have a monopoly over?
On the Mortal Plane, there was no doubt that the best Rune Masters in the universe came from the Skai Heaven. But as you moved up to the Demi-God Plane, things became more plicated.
Rune Mastery was simply too important to everyday life. Not having masters of the discipline was like moving through reality with your hands tied behind your back.
On the Mortal Plane, the existences were weak enough and lacking in understanding, so the gap could be bridged and suffocated by other means. This was why the Skai Heaven was still the weakest of the powers—atop the fact the impotent system didn't have a method of cultivating Will properly.
But on the Demi-God Plane, the Skai Heaven was still the weakest both because of these previously mentioned reasons, and because the other Heavens had surpassed them in Rune Mastery.
What the other Heavens lacked in Will, they made up for in various other ways.
Ultimately, the Skai Heaven was probably somewhere in the middle in terms of overall Rune Mastery, not the best, but not the weakest either.
The strongest Rune Masters came from the Cryst Heaven, the Mesmer Heaven, and the Sage Heaven. And they would most definitely not take too kindly to the Skai Heaven, a middle-ranked Rune Mastery Heaven, having what was functionally a near monopoly on the Creation Tower.
Even though they had their own towers, how could they pare to what was here?
With the tower fully restored, it would be able to bring out the more powerful legacies with greater ease, it would be able to repair cracks that existed in various hubs of prehension, it would be able to unlock rooms they hadn't been able to use in generations.
This was simply huge. It would change everything, and if things were left like this, the Skai Heaven might finally be able to bridge whatever gap remained.
In fact… if they were lucky, they just might be able to use the pleted tower to fill in the weaknesses that the impotent system could not.
It had to be remembered that the Creation Tower existed during the war. Sylas had received the Creation of Key from the Madness System, not the Heaven System. That was all to say that it might almost certainly have plete Will inheritances within it.
If the Skai Heaven got its hands on these legacies… even in a roundabout way…
They might be able to fix the one thing holding the Heavens back and suddenly, the Skai Heaven would no longer be the weakest.
This was why this matter was so plicated. Even the God Plane might start to show interest, and if they found a method of interfering… This was simply not something that could just be casually brushed under a rug.
Heaven Ancestor Oura was from the Cryst Heaven. Heaven Ancestor Tera was from the Sage Heaven. Heaven Ancestor Shah had been from the Mesmer Heaven.
One of them was dead, and the other two had been chased out.
Once they received these notifications, they would know exactly what happened.
Absolute chaos.
That was the only answer for what would unfold here. There was no other way to look at it.
The Cryst Heaven were the masters of Intelligence. Their Runes could emit a far greater damage output than the Rune Masters of the Skai Heaven could fathom. Their ability to spontaneously call on Aether to do their bidding was second to none. They could draw formations and stabilize energy on a larger scale than anyone else could, and their small-scale personal Rune Armor were practically war machines.
The Mesmer Heaven was the Heaven of Charisma. They had the largest population of Fathomless Rune Creators. Their flexibility in bat was unmatched pared to other Rune Masters, and their ability to manipulate and twist the world to their whims was likewise second to none.
They had illusionists that could make you question your life and even take it yourself. They could twist back time to view what had already happened, and warp your own Runes to work against you. On top of illusionists, they had a second unique Profession known as the Sealers, existences who could block even Rune Creators from using their abilities.
And then… there was the Sage Heaven.
