[Bonus thanks to SongfulSalt. Just full on, all-out, butt blasting for a plete 90 minutes. Plus extra time to stuff the prolapse back in your ass] Sylas only had a few days to work with. It wasn't enough time to do nearly enough.
The only good news was that with the Creation of Key, he could deposit himself anywhere in the Skai Heaven that he wanted. And so long as no one interfered, he should likewise be able to open up an entrance from anywhere in the Skai Heaven to the Creation Tower as well.
As such, he could instantly get to either one of these guilds whenever he wanted. Right now, even.
The problem was getting out.
Sylas had chosen to open his first Creation of Key portal on a neutral site for two reasons. The first was because he didn't want Earth to be easily traced. He didn't know the exact situation in the Creation World, so it was impossible for him to trust it.
But the second reason was because the Creation World wasn't a real world, it was an artificial one. Opening up a portal from a place with a World Spirit of its own was the equivalent of trying to pry open space for another world in the space of another.
Normally, when teleporting place to place the World Spirits of each location would be tethered down to their own cores and this wouldn't be a problem.
But the Creation World was very free flowing and amorphous.
To make a plicated matter quite simple, the Creation World was both everywhere and nowhere. And unless you had expressed permission from a World Spirit to open up a portal, or were in an enclosed environment specifically designed to withstand this, opening up said portal was basically impossible.
As such, you needed to either be in great control of a world, or strong enough, skilled enough, or wealthy enough—meaning having a treasure of strong enough capability—to make it happen.
Entering a den of powerful Rune Masters and then trying to do something like leaving unscathed…
Just the act of teleporting there would almost certainly get him found out.
They would also know his parents' names by now, so whether it was Isolde or Cedric, they would likely be under a lot more scrutiny as well.
It was a problem that was basically near impossible to fix, and he had so little time to ensure that no mistakes were made.
If his parents died, there was no going back no matter how close to succeeding he had been.
Maybe the worst part of all of this is that his parents simply wouldn't have enough time to benefit from the gifts the old man had given them. There was only a few days left, just how much could they possibly digest in that time?
Sylas stopped himself before he continued the spiral any further.
His gaze became frighteningly cold.
Sylas pulled his mind out of the Nexus, the motion of the surrounding chaos related to the Grimblades having little to nothing to do with him at all. He simply didn't care.
Not until what was important was handled.
Until then, nothing else mattered.
In the outside world, he hovered above the star that formed the core of the Creation Tower and his gaze flickered.
There was only one thing he could do in this situation…
His Classes.
The old man's calligraphy brush lay across Sylas' lap, his gaze a bit vacant. There were simply too many Wills, too many shifts and changes within the brush.
Sylas could pick out the ones he wanted… but that would actually require him knowing what he wanted to do.
And he had no idea.
The obvious answer had seemed to be his Runes, but that was a lot trickier now. He was still getting a fuller grasp of whatever this new path was and as currently constructed, building an entire Class on such a vague concept would be… hard.
Classes would be built on Runes, but his Void prehension wasn't built on Runes at all. It was built on nothingness.
What was interesting about this was the fact Sylas had actually seen Void Classes. The problem with that was that the concept of void used in it versus what he actually thought of as the void now were too vastly different.
The Void Class he received was what had allowed him to store two Aethers within his body at once and it had made the second Class he did eventually receive far more powerful and potent.
But the concepts simply weren't remotely the same.
It would make more sense for Sylas to incorporate aspects of the Void into all three of his Classes rather than trying to somehow make a Class specifically for the void.
Much the same way, he should be trying to incorporate aspects of Spacetime into all three of his Classes rather than trying to separate them out.
In fact, that was his original intention. He was just trying to cover all his bases with every Rune Creation type there was. But unfortunately, or maybe fortunately, that was entirely unnecessary now.
He had transcended beyond the need for them and his Rune Creation had gained a flexibility through the void that only a rare few if any had ever had before.
Then there was also the problem of his Demonic Path as well.
Ironically enough, after mastering the Void, even that dividing line felt meaningless to him. He felt like he could just as easily blur that line as well.
The problem was that he couldn't without bringing the fury of the entire Plane down on himself, now could he? What would happen if he built his strength based on a power he couldn't use freely?
The answer to all of this seemed obvious. Given how hard it was to sense things related to the Void, couldn't he just take advantage of his own abilities to do exactly that?
Unfortunately, there was a limit. The only reason the old man struggled so much to sense him was because he was projecting his Will so far into the future.
But Sylas wasn't sure he could even hide from a normal Demi-God A-tier until he at least reached C-tier Rune Creation. And if he ran into an S-tier… There was simply no chance.
Sylas' frown deepened as he stared into the wispy lines of the brush head.
