The secret lay in the fact that was limiting Sylas again. It wasn't as simple as what was described here.
Basilisk's Crown not only elevated the Basilisk King's King Skills, but made them functionally Skills that were directly activated by its bloodline. Not only did this allow it to trigger these Skills near instantaneously, but it off-loaded much of the burden onto its Blood Essence.
As a result, the Aether requirents for the skills plumted off a cliff.
Gene Skills were well known for their steep costs. Sylas himself had seen this personally especially with his movent thods. If not for reaching Progenitor Mastery, he wouldn't even have the right to cast them.
But while was active, the Basilisk King could practically use these skills with impunity, and at an elevated level on top of that...

The difference was shocking, and the fact these Gene Skills could be cast near instantly and at almost no cost was shocking.
Sylas wasn't naive. He knew there were drawbacks.
Placing the burden of such powerful Gene Skills on the body ant that the Basilisk King would tire quite quickly. Plus, given that this Gene Lineage Form relied on Will, even if the Basilisk King ran itself dry, it would only last for 30 seconds.
It would be one thing if the Basilisk King had powerful attack Skills. But unfortunately, it didn't.
On top of that, even if it used these Gene Skills continuously and endlessly during that 30 seconds, the pressure on its body would be so great that it would be gasping for breath at the end if it made it that far at best, and at worst it might directly lose consciousness from fatigue.
Organ failure or a coma were very much in the cards if this was abused.
However...
Sylas had the Hibernation Realm.
There was certainly a degree of freedom here that just might allow Sylas to use this ability more than once in battle if he was really backed into a corner.
Especially if he upgraded them.

Sylas spent as much Experience as he could in one go, but he was still left with an embarrassingly large amount. He still had 214 164 850 remaining, and yet nothing to spend it on. It could only sit there, waiting for him to hit another jackpot.

been a surprise with the shocking boost of the Hibernation Realm.
With a recovery boost in the billions, the equivalent of 10 years passed in just under 19
seconds. Had Sylas been at this level from the start, the Glasirith would have hatched in just a
few minutes.
However, for now, Sylas chose not to Summon it. The environnt was too volatile for a
newborn. Bronze Beast or not, it was still a Level 0.
Instead, he looked through the changes.
'Hibernation Halo... I see, I can project the recovery effects of my Hibernation Realm now, but
it's significantly weakened. There's a drop off by a million, so there's only around a 1677% boost to recovery, because it appeared at Level 20, it's leveled up three tis, so it's over 13
000% now. 'Comprehension Share is interesting... odd, it seems I can't fuse with my contracts' Comprehensions, but I can gain insights on their Comprehensions. With the synergy between that and Insights, I can practically grasp it completely...
'As for this new sensory ability of Insight, it's the oddest. But it seems I won't have to lay eyes
on a treasure to know it'll be useful for my contracts' evolutions now, I can sense it from a distance, and even feel it through ti sowhat...'
The explanation was hard to explain, but Sylas had a natural understanding of it. The fact this
Legendary Path Talent actually allowed him a peek into the future was mind-breaking even
for Sylas.
And then there was the elephant in the room.
Extricating Comprehensions.
