Hey, Your Champion's Really Good (1)**
**3rd Set Preparation Ti.**
Wanggeom and the comntators used the break to look back on the 2nd set.
"Everyone, didn't I say this CrazySmurf was one for the ages? But co to think of it, I misspoke."
"Huh?"
"No way, wanggeom?"
The comntators, as well as the chat window, were filled with question marks. Wanggeom smiled brightly and continued.
"A historic tournant? No! Every single set of this finals is historic! Seriously, how can there be classic scenes in every set, not just in one ga?!"
"Oh, another build-up like that!"
"Whenever Wanggeom says anything now, I have to brace myself. But it's not wrong, you know?"
Since Wanggeom had set the stage, it was ti for the comntators to join in.
"Frankly, I thought just Purple going up against JD one-on-one and winning was crazy! Why is he called 'JD'? It stands for Jungle Dominator, the master of the jungle!"
"That's right. But Purple didn't stop there. 'What? This is supposed to be the jungle's ruler?' That's the vibe I got. So he went to find the real ruler of the jungle!"
The comntators were convinced. If the viewers, or anyone who would later watch highlights of this ga, had to pick a scene from Set 2, everyone would unanimously pick the sa play.
"Duke solo kill! Purple actually pulled it off!"
"Wow, I was shocked at the ti, but even now my heart's racing. Seeing Purple perform the miracle, the Para-crazy, with my own eyes is no joke!"
"This is honestly not just one for the CrazySmurf history books but a highlight of Mystic's whole history!"
As the three spoke with excitent, the chat reacted too.
- Seriously LOL No human could do that
- God works miracles, that's common sense, right?
- At this point, isn't Perfect-Common Sense correct? LOL
- Paradigm shift? No! It's a Para-digm!
- 5252, is the whole world turning purple!?
- Riot Gas needs to use this as Master Lee's intro video
- LMAO, that'd be false advertising!
- ???: But it works?
- Master Par and Master Lee are different champs ^^
Buoyed by the viewers' enthusiasm, wanggeom grew even more animated.
"I browsed the community during the break, you know? This clip is everywhere. Seriously, it's been posted everywhere!"
"Oh, who could resist? How could you not show such aweso plays?!"
"I peeked at the broadcast channel for a bit? My English isn't great, but you can feel the vibe, right? Overseas viewers are super hyped, too!"
"Oh! Right! This clip even went up on Reddit? Maybe that's why the broadcast channel just hit 70,000 viewers!"
The comntators, pleased, soon spoke more seriously.
"But reviewing that clip again, there was sothing I realized. At the ti, I was so shocked by how tightly it succeeded that I missed a detail."
"Ah, right. After so discussion, we realized we need to make a correction."
"Oh? Which part?"
The comntator played Duke's defeat, showing Lee Gyeongbok's screen right after.
"If you look, Purple barely pulled it off—his stamina was nearly gone."
"Exactly. That's what made it so shocking. I thought he was going to fail."
"We said things like 'he was really lucky,' 'Purple's good fortune saved him here.' But now, I don't think it was luck."
"What do you an?"
Wanggeom's eyes widened.
Most of the viewers felt the sa way; the chat filled with more question marks.
"If sothing lucky happens, how do people usually react? They're either thrilled or relieved, right?"
"Ah, right! But Purple's not reacting like that?"
"Exactly! Purple is just too calm! He survives by a sliver, and yet there's no dramatic reaction?!"
"That's only if it was really luck."
Wanggeom blinked rapidly at those words.
"Then it wasn't luck? Purple knew he'd pull it off, it was calculated?!"
"It's hard to believe, but the probability is high. Look at his ultimate timing, he even called out the buff timing for his teammates. It's hard to think that's all just luck!"
"If we're being honest, there's a lot Purple's done that's unbelievable if you just hear about it. Seeing it with your own eyes is what makes it believable!"
- Holy crap LOL After hearing the explanation, I think it's true
- Honestly, if I succeeded with that little stamina left, I'd be windmilling on the spot LOL
- He calculated everything already? Truly a scientific team answer!
- Is this what they call divine providence?
- LOL Not the palm of Buddha's hand, but Perfect's hand!
- What's with this Para-celestial thing LOL
While the chat was ablaze with amazent, wanggeom checked the ti. It was almost ti to prepare for the third set.
"The more you know, the more incredible it gets! Currently, PerG-Day's team is leading 2-0! This could be the last set!"
"Exactly! If PerG-Day wins here, that's a clean sweep and a confird tournant victory!"
"For PerG-Day, it's the championship; for Money Damas, it's a coback chance. Both teams will go all out!"
As he changed the subject, the comntators chid in, keeping a professional eye on the ti.
"For Money Damas, they have to stop Purple sohow. But their options are limited with only three ban cards. Trying to force a Barzan pick is probably their best choice."
"Exactly. On PerG-Day's side, I don't expect much to change. The focus will likely be on shoring up their weaker bot and mid lanes."
"All right, looks like the third set prep is finished. What results await? Let's check it out!"
With Wanggeom's words, both teams began their champion picks—just as the comntators predicted.
"Ah, as expected, they left Barzan open."
"PerG-Day finished their picks smoothly as well."
"Which side do you think has the advantage?"
At Wanggeom's question, the comntator gave a serious answer.
"Currently, PerG-Day's got a strong montum, but this ti it's hard to predict."
"This is one of those tis when not having a wild card actually makes the match less predictable."
"No wild cards, but less predictable? Could you explain?"
"If we can predict what will happen, the teams can too. In other words, both know what the other is thinking. So it seems more standard, fewer variables."
"Right. Actually, sets 1 and 2 were completely different from the matches before the finals, right? Now, it's turning into the textbook kind of ga we're used to. And in that kind of match, money Damas has more experience."
"Oh, I see! Now that I think about it, maybe it's the more standard things that seem unusual in this finals. Let's see what plays co out—ti to check the champions!"
Wanggeom wrapped up his comntary quickly: champion selection ti had just ended.
At last, the champion picks were revealed.
Both the comntators and viewers were stunned once again.
"What? What!? What is going on!?"
"Why did the screen turn so grim?! What is this pick?!"
"I was wrong! It wasn't that there were no variables—PerG-Day themselves are the variable!"
Every single PerG-Day champion was shrouded in a dark aura.
"All the ban cards went to Purple? But the rest of the team all picked different champions!"
"Top is Kaiser Mode, mid is Dasakin, bot is Talliska and Thresh?"
"Purple is on Diego, diego!? Aside from Eclipse, it's the first ti for these champions!"
'Wraith Knight' Kaiser Mode, 'Wanderer' Dasakin, 'Vengeful Spirit' Talliska, 'Chain Keeper' Thresh.
And finally, the 'Usurper' Diego.
The comntators were thrown off by the unfamiliar picks, but the chat had a different reaction.
- LOL Isn't this a concept pick?!
- Did they go all undead champions as a Black Company thing?
- LOL Even in death, you have to work?!
- LOL Now I know why Ecl picked Kaiser as his sub-champ!
- Godple picked Diego, so the knight had to be Kaiser Mode LOL
- 5252, was this foreshadowing all along?!
- Godple's Soul Crown just looks too good on him LOL
Wanggeom noticed and explained quickly.
"Oh, there's word in the chat that this is a concept comp!"
"A concept? In what could be the last match of the finals?!"
"Wow, that's so serious confidence and composure! And actually, it's a strong strategic move, too!"
"That's right! Money Damas won't be able to help but be baffled right now! The composition has changed completely, they'll be at a loss!"
"It's innovation after innovation! They are strears, after all! It's like they only live for broadcasting!"
The chat burst into laughter, but the comntators were serious.
"To my knowledge, this is the first ti they've shown this comp. Which ans the team practiced it privately, but how well will it work in an actual match?"
"Even so, bringing this out now shows that they think it's good enough. Whether it's confidence or arrogance will soon be revealed!"
"That's right! The third and possibly final set of the finals begins now!"
* * *
Contrary to the comntators' worries, PerG-Day quickly took control of the third set.
But Lee Gyeongbok couldn't feel happy about it.
'Sothing feels off.'
The enemy team's actions gave him a strong sense of discomfort. At first, he thought it was a coincidence, but the feeling only grew as the ga went on.
'Again?'
He ganked the enemy midlaner, the 'Clockwork Man' Orion, teaming up with Geno for an easy kill opportunity.
[GENO house money]
They succeeded in taking him down.
"Nice! That was textbook!"
Geno rejoiced, but Gyeongbok looked away.
'He died on purpose.'
Before the finishing blow, the enemy even jumped in the way of Geno's projectile.
And it wasn't just this once.
The sa thing happened on other lanes during gank attempts.
'The enemy jungler offered no backup.'
Donkak's pathing was an open book. He seed to have no intention of helping his midlaner—he was just farming creeps.
As a result, none of his ganks failed, and overall their team was ahead.
'Still, their threat just keeps rising?'
Strangely, though Money Damas kept dying, their level of threat kept increasing as ti passed.
'They're not trying to win this ga.'
Suddenly, Lee Gyeongbok realized.
'Their goal is to shut down.'
Money Damas was going out of their way to block his gold gain—throwing themselves in during ganks and denying him jungle creeps, doing everything they could to stall his growth.
"Heh."
Gyeongbok let out a small laugh.
It was ridiculous, but he wasn't rattled.
'Even so, there's a surefire inco source they can't block.'
He imdiately moved to the bottom lane.
"Interns, chase down the opponents while I gank. And I'll take the Turret Blood."
No matter how much his inco was denied, they couldn't let him take down allied towers.
[〉You got it!]
[〉Take it easy, boss! We're swimming in money!]
Skullkim and Bakjapcho followed his lead without protest. Thanks to all their CS and champ kills, their coffers were full.
"And one more favor, please."
His next request surprised the two.
[〉Uh, understood!]
[〉Well...if it's you, boss, then it's fine.]
But they accepted right away.
* * *
The comntators' eyes widened.
"Huh...? What's going on right now?!"
"Purple? Isn't he supposed to take the tower and retreat?"
"Skullkim and Bakjapcho! They're going straight into the jungle? Purple is staying bot?!"
They'd thought he'd just push the lane, but were proven wrong.
"The bot duo is jungling! Purple is still getting CS!"
"Wait, it's not a position swap, it's a lane swap?!"
"To be fair, while rare, you do sotis have to shift things around depending on the ga situation?"
"Right! If a lane's empty, sotis the jungler fills in. But that's not what's happening here?!"
"Is this for show? I can't tell what they're thinking."
The comntators were baffled but soon impressed.
"But sohow, it doesn't feel out of place! Purple is taking CS like a machine!"
"He doesn't care he's being pressured—1v2 is nothing! That's the aura he's giving off!"
"If anything, donkak is the one struggling! Skullkim and Bakjapcho are relentless! This was a great decision!"
Unlike Gyeongbok, donkak couldn't handle a 1v2 easily, so he gave up jungling and headed to lane.
"Oh, the weed duo returned to lane! Purple chose to recall!"
"Ti to go shopping! Is Diego...? Wait, is that a movent speed build? No, it's a tank build—stamina and defense!"
Gyeongbok gathered enough money and bought up items. The comntators struggled to interpret his intentions.
"Normally, diego's kit ans he should build for damage."
"Right. Diego's passive skill, 'Soul Usurper,' gets stronger the more deaths there are—his own and his allies'. Killing a lot is important, but even teammates' and his own deaths count!"
"Exactly. For Diego, dying isn't really punishnt—it's all part of snowballing. Yet he's going tank? I can only think of one reason."
Wanggeom imdiately asked the question on everyone's mind.
"Why?! What's the reason?"
"The team's already got the advantage, right? Purple probably wants to secure a record. The biggest thing people look at is his perfect score from last ga, right?"
"Right! Even a single death would ruin that record! But if he wins this without dying, it'll be a record that'll never be topped!"
The comntators interpreted his build as an attempt to maintain his perfect record, and the viewers agreed.
- Who wouldn't want that LOL
- Just looking at the kill-death difference, the championship is nearly sealed LOL
- A repeat of the last ga's perfect score? No way I'd miss that LOL
- If that was , I'd just camp in base
After shopping, Gyeongbok returned to bot, pushing with the minions to the second tower.
Skullkim and Bakjapcho left lane again, this ti to hunt buff creeps.
And then, things changed.
"Huh? Money Damas? Are they backing out of lane?!"
"Bobkak? Wait, is he not shopping? He's not returning to top!"
"Donkak went jungle and now is heading bot! All five are converging on Purple!"
Every Money Damas mber was heading to bot, where Gyeongbok was alone.
Their intentions were crystal clear.
"Ah! They want to take Purple out!"
"Backup needs to co, now! This could decide the match!"
"What's going on?! Isn't PerG-Day sending backup? There's no way they don't know?!"
The comntators watched the minimap, blinking in disbelief. No one was moving to help Gyeongbok.
"What?! They're split-pushing?! Are they using Purple as bait?!"
"Well... it's rational, but I wish they'd help! Even Purple will have a hard ti getting out! If he dies, the perfect score is lost!"
They honestly raised their voices, worried.
"But Purple is calling the shots—it ans he decided to be the bait!"
"So it wasn't just about chasing a record, after all."
"Winning matters more than a personal record. That must be what he's thinking."
Wanggeom smacked his lips, glancing at the other comntators.
"Ha... But since it's Purple, maybe he can survive anyway?"
"Normally, with Purple's skills, he could survive a 1v5. But this is Money Damas. Their synergy isn't a joke."
"In the first set, he survived a 3v1 ambush, but that was as Perfect Yami. And this is Diego's first appearance, and he can't even use his ultimate yet."
"Right. There have been a total of 26 deaths in this ga—Diego's ult needs 30, so four more. But if you survive 1v5 until you get to 1v1, you don't even need the ult."
As the comntary explained, the chat sighed.
- Bruh;;; why not just teamfight instead
- But if they push here, it's a guaranteed win
- The perfect score, what a waste!
- Is Godple choosing the path of 'Perfect-Team Leader'...
- Dummy! Only cares about the team!
- Huh? When did Godple beco captain?
- LOL Actually, Geno was captain
- It's so natural, no one noticed LOL
- Everyone already said Geno was a figurehead LOL
The viewers tried to see it in a good light, since there was nothing else they could do.
"Okay, money Damas is closing in."
"The fight's about to start!"
"Money Damas surrounding from all sides! But Purple's still not going down easily! I hope he gets out sohow!"
As the engagent began, the comntators narrated with escalating tension.
And then—
[Tower GENO]
[Tower Eclipse]
[Magma Elental Skullkim]
[Magma Elental Bakjapcho]
A string of death notifications filled the screen.
"What!?"
"What's this!?"
"PerG-Day... got wiped?!"
Geno and Eclipse didn't just push—they dove onto the second tower and got themselves killed.
Skullkim and Bakjapcho fought for red and blue buff, then hunted elentals until they died.
There was no rational reason to throw like this. The comntators soon realized why.
"Ah! With this—!"
"Four deaths! That takes the total to 30 exactly!"
"PerG-Day didn't abandon Purple!"
"It's a bet on Purple!"
"Exactly! Whoever dies first, revives first, right?!"
"And if Purple wins here, money Damas base is wide open!"
While Gyeongbok was fighting off everyone alone, his teammates would be respawning.
If he handled them all, a deserted enemy base would be easy to take.
Just monts earlier, it seed impossible.
- Crazy strategy, holy crap
- Diego ult angle, ready?!
- LOL Burning through employees for the ultimate!?
- Black Company never changes LOL
- Going all out on the concept for the big finale!
- This is the 'Perfect-Strear' style! LOL
- Uhwooper! Uhwooper! Uhwooper!
The mood shifted in an instant.
