Chapter 205: Void Geno

Oni were known for their monstrous strength and sheer stubbornness. But what set them apart most was their ridiculous vitality.

Bai Luo already knew that.

What he didn’t expect was for Chiyo, even in her berserk, half-corrupted state, to know how to play dead.

He’d spent a lifeti ambushing others—beasts, bandits, even gods.

Now he was the one who got played.

It should have been over. He’d landed the Final Form of Starburst Stream cleanly. Chiyo had collapsed. The system should’ve declared the trial complete.

But nothing happened.

No victory ssage. No item rewards. No fanfare.

Just silence.

And that was enough of a warning.

His instincts scread. He snapped both swords up just in ti to block the incoming blow.

Clang!

The impact sent tremors down his arms. His boots skidded against the rocky ground.

She was alive.

Worse—she was on her deathbed.

What’s the most dangerous kind of beast? One that’s cornered and bleeding, with nothing left to lose.

That’s what Chiyo had beco.

Her body was cracked and torn. Her blood was black with corruption. Her aura was warped and toxic, pulsing like a cursed tide.

And now, all her buffs—passive and otherwise—were stacked to the maximum.

She moved faster than he could react.

One clean hit smashed into his chest and sent him flying. He hit the dirt hard. His back thudded against the ground, the breath knocked out of his lungs.

He barely had ti to groan before her shadow fell over him.

A blur of movent. A sharp scent of crushed sakura petals mixed with blood. Dark mist clung to her like a second skin.

She landed on top of him.

He couldn’t move.

Her weight pinned him down, claws pressing into the earth on either side of his head.

Then—her mouth opened.

She lunged for his throat.

Fourfold Slash had already worn off, which ant Bai Luo couldn’t teleport to any lingering sword images.

No spectral sword images left. No way to blink out.

All he could do was act on instinct.

He jerked his arms upward, wedging [Elucidator] between his neck and her jaws.

Her fangs hit steel.

SKREEEE—!

Sparks flew as her teeth scraped against the blade. The sound was like nails on glass.

"Lady Chiyo, please!" Bai Luo grunted, pushing back with everything he had. "You’re a married woman! Your son Michihiro is literally watching this from outside!"

No matter how corrupted Chiyo was, she’s still a top tier beauty.

Objectively, she was still beautiful.

But there were no strange thoughts in his mind.

Not because of Michihiro. Not even because of the age difference.

Rather, it’s because this beautiful woman was currently trying to murder him.

That tended to kill the mood.

Then—sothing strange happened.

The mont he said the na—

"Mi...chi...hiro..."

Chiyo’s eyes flickered.

A glimr of recognition.

The madness inside her hesitated.

For a breath, it seed like she might stop. But the pause only lasted a second. Maybe two.

Then she dove even deeper into her frenzy.

Stronger. Faster. More brutal than ever before.

Bai Luo did have other ways to escape.

He could’ve used his Heartfire of the Earth—but all active abilities granted by equipnt were disabled in the trial.

Heartfire of the Earth included.

"Wait— that thing!"

The reward from his second trial. A skill card.

Aimless Journey to the Abandoned Station.

He quickly opened the system interface in his mind.

It wasn’t listed under equipnt.

It was categorized as a consumable.

That ant—it could be used.

His arms were still pinned. No ti to free a hand.

So he used his mouth.

He bit down on the card’s icon.

Instantly, a golden rectangle shimred into reality—right between his teeth.

Then it burst into glowing dust.

A voice whispered in his ear.

"Hehe~"

It sounded like a girl. Soft. Gentle. Almost cheerful.

Reality tore open.

A jagged rift of dark energy split the air to his right. The edges shimred like shattered glass, humming with unstable power.

Inside—dozens of blood-red eyes blinked, one after the other. Watching. Studying. Breathing.

They pulsed in and out of sight like heartbeats.

Then—

CLANG! CLANG! CLANG!

A deafening alarm split the forest air.

Chiyo froze.

KDUNK... KDUNK...

The chanical rumble rolled through the trees like distant thunder.

In her blood-red eyes, a reflection ford.

It was huge.

It was tallic.

It was—

A train.

A steel behemoth. Black and rusted. Unlike anything this world had ever seen.

It wasn’t even that fast.

Chiyo could’ve dodged it.

But she didn’t understand what it was.

So it hit her full force.

BOOOOM—!

The train plowed through the trial space like a god of war.

It smashed into her with unstoppable montum, dragging her body across the battlefield. A trench a thousand ters long carved into the ground as it vanished into the far distance.

Gone. Just like that.

And Bai Luo?

He lay there, curled up in a shallow crater, hands on his ribs, his face pale.

He hadn’t even been directly hit, but she’d pinned him down when the train passed overhead.

He wasn’t even hit, but he still felt like he got crushed.

So this... was what it felt like to lie across train tracks.

Bai Luo groaned softly, still on the ground. The scent of scorched earth, tal, and dust filled his lungs. Smoke curled up into the sky in thick plus, spreading in every direction. Heat radiated off the path carved by the steel juggernaut, warping the air.

And through the haze, he rembered that sound.

A girl’s laughter.

Soft. Mischievous. Like wind chis caught in a breeze.

It tickled at the back of his thoughts—not haunting, but definitely eerie.

He clicked his tongue and muttered, "Tch... probably just so ancient hag pretending young and acting cute... How shaless."

Whoosh!

Without warning, a spatial rift tore open behind him.

A small hand—pale, delicate, and distinctly childlike—reached out from the darkness.

SMACK!

A folded fan ca down hard across the back of his head.

"Ghk—!"

Bai Luo stumbled forward a step, nearly eating dirt. His mouth snapped shut imdiately. He didn’t say another word.

—Why was she able to hit him inside a sealed trial space?!

His thoughts were a storm of complaints, but he didn’t voice them.

Both hands remained steady, still gripping his swords. His eyes stayed locked on the far end of the ravaged chasm, where the train had vanished.

The smoke was thick. Visibility was low. But he wasn’t going to be caught off-guard a second ti.

Then, finally, a notification window blinked to life before his eyes:

[Congratulations. You have completed the final phase of the trial.]

[Initiating Class Draw...]

[You have obtained a new Class: Power of the Kings]

"Power of the Kings...?"

A violet book appeared in his hands. The cover glimred faintly, shimring with translucent crystal facets.

Bai Luo raised a brow.

"What is it? Nasuverse Gilgash? Ainz Ooal Gown? Wait—"

His eyes widened.

"Hissss—It’s Shu Ouma from Guilty Crown?!"

The system hadn’t booted him from the trial yet. The battlefield remained intact, flickering faintly in the mist.

Which ant—he still had ti to test this new class.

He opened the book.

Imdiately, dozens of glowing threads burst out from the pages and wrapped around his right arm like a cocoon. A layer of shimring crystal ford on his skin, creeping from elbow to fingertip.

[Fourth Class: Power of the Kings]successfully activated!

[Passive Skill Acquired: Savior]

[Skill Acquired: Void Geno]

[Elental Burst Acquired: Authority of the King]

[Passive Skill: Savior]

Continuously emits a field that grants both allies and enemies healing and damage absorption.

When the field ends, the caster enters a Crystallized state.

[Skill: Void Geno]

Active: Charge at a target and extract a "Void" from their soul. Gain one new ability.

Passive: Can store one special Void at a ti. Current Stored Void: Singer’s Sword. Can be implanted into an ally.

[Elental Burst: Authority of the King]

When activated, all visible Voids on the battlefield would manifest.

Voids are determined by the target’s elental affinity (based on Vision type).

Each elental affinity can only generate one fixed Void.

Exception cases are rare.

Note: If the target has no Vision, a random Void will be generated.

===

As expected, the system had modified everything again.

The class wasn’t exactly like Shu Ouma’s from the original ani. Nor did it behave quite like it would in the ga version.

The Void chanic was the biggest change.

In theory, every person’s Void should’ve been unique. A personal weapon drawn from their innermost self.

But in this world?

The system had reinterpreted them based on elental Vision alignnt.

Pyro users would always generate the sa Pyro Void. Electro, the sa Electro Void. It was a standardized chanic—efficient, but restrictive.

Still, the system had granted him one pre-stored Void from the start.

And not just any Void.

Bai Luo noticed a faint light pulsing from his chest.

He touched the glowing point with his crystallized right hand.

The crystal vibrated, resonating with his touch.

Then, with a single, smooth pull, he drew out a massive greatsword, easily the length of his entire body. Its surface shimred with layered crystal and subtle light. Elegant yet brutal in design.

He stared at it in silence.

"...Singer’s Sword?"

It was Inori’s Void—one of the most powerful from the original series.

Bai Luo didn’t say a word.

He simply gripped the sword tighter.

"...With this, I could probably beat the Shogun."

Note:

The Fourth Class is based on the main character of Guilty Crown, Shu Ouma.

The Singer’s Sword is the Void ability of Inori Yuzuriha:

sguiltycrown.fandom/wiki/Inori_Yuzuriha

From the Wiki: Inori’s Void was the Singer’s Sword, a massive broadsword at least twice as long as she is tall. Hers stands as one of the most powerful Voids shown in the series.
