Genshin Impact: I’m The Envoy of Snezhnaya
Chapter 351: The Lawrence Clan
"Anemo Archon’s Drunken Dream..."
After hearing the na, Diluc showed a thoughtful expression.
Whether it could actually make the Anemo Archon drunk, Diluc didn’t know.
But from what he had seen so far, even soone like Kaeya, who had an exceptionally high alcohol tolerance, couldn’t withstand even half a cup of it.
However, judging from Kaeya’s description afterward, it was less that he had been drunk and more that he had been overwheld by the drink’s intense sourness.
"Settle this bard sowhere safe. When he wakes up, notify imdiately."
Diluc could tell that this bard was no ordinary person, but he didn’t connect him with the Anemo Archon at all.
The only reason he ordered his subordinates to take care of him was because he wanted to obtain so information about the Ausbilder from him.
"Yes, sir!"
After the young bard was carried away, Diluc did not leave the tavern.
Instead, he changed into his bartender uniform and stood behind the counter.
This wasn’t anything unusual in Mondstadt.
The chances of Master Diluc appearing behind the bar were actually quite high.
"Has there been any new information lately?"
While wiping a wine glass, Diluc casually asked Charles.
Because of the situation with the Ausbilder, he hadn’t been here for several days.
He wasn’t sure if anything noteworthy had happened in the tavern during that ti.
"Other than the bard who was just carried away, there’s only one other matter."
Charles took out his notes from a hidden compartnt beneath the counter and respectfully handed them to Diluc.
As the largest tavern in Mondstadt, Angel’s Share could truly be described as a place where all sorts of people gathered.
Precisely because of that, Charles often obtained valuable information from bards or adventurers.
Sotis it was about the movents of the Abyss Order, other tis it was rumors of sches by the Treasure Hoarders.
Recently, however, he had received a rather different kind of clue.
"Lawrence?"
Seeing that surna, Diluc frowned slightly.
The first person who ca to mind was the Spindrift Knight who had once wanted to cooperate with him to capture the Darknight Hero.
The reason he had agreed to work with her back then was actually to test whether this knight from the Lawrence family intended to do anything suspicious.
After interacting with her, he realized she was different from the rest of the Lawrences—she had her own ideals.
Her determination to break free from the shackles of her family was admirable.
Unfortunately... she had chosen to join the Knights of Favonius.
However, the intelligence in his hand was not about Eula, but about soone else.
"Schubert Lawrence?"
If Diluc rembered correctly, this man was a descendant of Mondstadt’s old aristocracy. Even now, he still dread of restoring the forr glory of the Lawrence Clan.
Many mbers of the Lawrence family were like that, but this one was the most vocal among them.
The reason Diluc rembered him so clearly was because of a banquet so ti ago.
That banquet had invited many people, even the mbers of the Knights of Favonius were present.
But the Lawrence family had not been included on the guest list.
That night, after drinking a bit too much, Schubert apparently felt resentful about it and stord into the banquet hall to cause a scene.
If mbers of the Knights hadn’t been present, Schubert would never have walked out of that banquet intact.
This was also one of the reasons Diluc disliked the Knights.
In so respects, they were simply too rigid and old-fashioned.
"A few days ago, that guy ca to the tavern to drink. After soone mocked him, he started throwing a drunken tantrum. Then he said so things while drunk. I thought... those drunken words sounded unusual, so I wrote them down."
As a bartender trained by Diluc to gather intelligence, Charles had his own unique thods of judging whether soone’s words were genuine or not.
"You lowborn peasants! Before long, we shall once again ascend the glorious heights that belong solely to the Lawrence family! And when that day cos, I will whip your dignity with a vine soaked in saltwater!"
Schubert Lawrence’s words caused an uproar of laughter throughout the tavern.
After all, this clown had said similar things more than once before.
Charles, however, keenly sensed that sothing about those words was off.
In the past, whenever Schubert said things like that, he always looked furious—just empty bluster spoken in anger.
But this ti...
What Charles saw in his eyes was not rage, but confidence.
In other words... sothing must have happened around him recently that made him believe the Lawrence family could truly return to its forr glory.
"Did you conduct any detailed investigation?"
Diluc had clearly noticed that sothing was unusual about Schubert as well.
Ever since that incident at the banquet where Schubert caused trouble, the two of them had been at odds.
Coming to drink at his tavern?
Don’t be ridiculous.
Given how much that man valued his so-called "dignity," let alone drinking here, Schubert would never touch even the wines that had business ties with the Ragnvindr family.
His intention was to boycott Diluc’s business by showing that "mbers of the Lawrence family refuse to drink the Ragnvindr family’s wine."
Unfortunately... this behavior only made the Ragnvindr family’s business even better.
Therefore, the fact that he ca to the tavern and loudly spouted nonsense was worth thinking about.
"Since we didn’t have your orders, we only conducted brief surveillance within the city. We didn’t carry out any deep investigation."
When Charles ntioned the surveillance, the expression on his face beca extrely complicated.
It looked as though... he had just swallowed sothing utterly disgusting.
Which made sense, following that guy ant constantly listening to his so-called aristocratic rhetoric.
To the people of modern Mondstadt, the Lawrence family’s noble talk was so absurd that it defied belief.
Charles couldn’t even imagine how people in Mondstadt had tolerated such behavior in the past.
"Mm, you did well. So, did you find any clues?"
Diluc approved of Charles not conducting a deeper investigation.
He had never encouraged his subordinates to take unnecessary risks.
In situations like this, he usually investigated personally.
Of course, he would do so under the identity of the Darknight Hero.
"During our surveillance, we discovered that this man seems to have so connection with the Fatui. More than once, he has left the city together with mbers of the Fatui."
In truth, Schubert wasn’t completely foolish. He knew that having ties with the Fatui would be disadvantageous to him.
So he always left the city at different tis from them to avoid suspicion.
But such little tricks couldn’t fool people like Charles.
One could only say... in matters like this, Schubert was still far too inexperienced.
"The Fatui, huh..."
Upon hearing that the organization connected to Schubert was the Fatui, Diluc wasn’t surprised at all.
After all, in the entire city of Mondstadt, the only group capable of giving him such misplaced confidence would be the Fatui.
Co to think of it...
Could the things that Ausbilder had been secretly stirring up recently also have sothing to do with the Lawrence family?
