She paused in the middle of her words as if sensing soone coming over. The mage also seed to have sensed the sa. He also wore the mask back on his face.
They both looked in the sa direction where they saw a little girl moving through the direction at an incredible pace without leaving any traces of her existence, had it not been for their powerful senses they would not have discovered her this easily.
It was the sa girl from the hero party who was also an assassin. During the ti they spent on the battlefield, he found her different from the hero and the healer who he, by the way, hated both.

Entering the garden, Lila was stunned to see the mage standing beside the most stunning woman she had ever seen in her life. Unconsciously she had started staring at the woman, which seed to have irked her a little.
"What do you want?" hearing the cold and irritated voice, Lila froze in her place in fear. Out of her habit as an assassin, she moved around the castle sneakily, and this was the first ti she was caught by soone.
But what got her scared was not the fact that she was spotted by soone, as she was not in enemy territory. What scared her was the gaze she was feeling on her body; she got a feeling that if she did not give a good explanation to the woman standing before her eyes.
The mage, on the other hand, was surprised to hear the cold voice coming from the woman beside him. He did not think that soone as calm and collected as her could ever speak in such a tone.
And he was even more surprised, realizing that he was not scared or irritated by her attitude; sohow, he felt a little giddy seeing the sharp look in her eyes. It was not that he hated the little girl.
She was the only one of the three people he could even bring himself to talk to.
"I…. I am sorry for the intrusion but… His majesty the king is calling for… sir mage." Gritting her teeth, the little girl willed herself to speak through what she wanted to say while looking deep into her eyes.
Evelyn was both surprised and impressed by the will of such a little girl. She never would have guessed her to have such a strong will. She turned to look at the mage beside her who was looking back at her and said.
"Go.. I will wait for you here." She said softly, surprising the little girl with her absolute change in attitude. Looking at the warm atmosphere between the two of them, she started to think.

She was not aware of the fact that so things in the world could give birth to consciousness and live as normal living beings of other races.
"I guess, I can wait for a couple of hours, as I have been waiting for it for a couple of months now." The mage agreed to Evelyn's thought with a bit of reluctance. He didn't need to be on the king's call all the ti, as he was just a temporary mber of the party, but he did not want to appear rude.
Just as he said, they have been in this place for a couple of months and have been dealing with the demons invading all around the kingdom along with the elves. They have been eting a lot during these months and got closer. At this ti, he also realized that he had feelings for the woman, but he could not tell how she felt about him.
They always talked like friends for hours, but he could not tell if she was up for more than just being friends. He could not gather the courage to confess his feelings just because of this fear of losing everything.
'I have all the ti to think about these things, let's not rush things.'
"Let's go." Shaking off the useless thoughts, he turned towards the little girl and spoke up, causing her to snap out of her daze. But before he could take a step forward, a hand grabbed his arm, stopping him in the process. He turned around only to see Evelyn smiling at him with a warm smile on her face.
"Umm, Why don't you go first, I have sothing to talk about with this little girl here." She suggested with the sa smile on her face, the mage nodded and left the area. It was not until she was sure that he could no longer sense them did the smile on her face vanished, and what replaced was a look of indifference.
She turned to look at the girl who stood in her place, scared of what might happen to her next.
"Now that he has left, tell what are you after, little girl?" Lila trembled like a little cat seeing the sharp gaze. She had never seen such a gaze from anyone.
'Even the people who made train to be the weapon of the kingdom from my birth did not have this kind of scary gaze.'
Seeing her scared like that, Evelyn did not show any change in emotions. "I found you awfully close to him, I wonder what you are trying to do here, little girl…"
