"Is there a problem, gentlen?" Seeing how the man changed his tone, Song Liu's eyes beca confused and she looked at the woman beside her with a questioning gaze. Seeing the gaze, the veiled woman sighed before sending a thought transmission.
"I heard you were bothering our junior sister?" Yuan Ming ca forward with a serious look and his broadsword in his hand.
"How can I do that?" The man changed his attitude real quick and rubbed the back of his head with a confused expression.
"I was just asking for their nas; if I were bothering them, I would like to apologize." He smiled and made way for them before saying. "I would not hold you guys any longer."
Tian Heng exchanged a glance with Yuan Ming, both sensing sothing amiss with the man's sudden change in deanor. But they decided to let it go for now, especially since he was allowing them to leave without further trouble.
"Let's go, junior sister." Yuan Ming placed the sword back inside the makeshift sheath he was carrying on his back.
Song Liu nodded gratefully, relieved to see her senior brothers coming to her aid. As they started to walk away, she couldn't help but feel a lingering sense of unease about the encounter. The veiled woman beside her remained silent, her gaze still sharp and alert as they moved through the crowd.
Even though she warned Song Liu that the man was lying she did not tell her why, she did not want to taint the woman's innocence with the dirt of the world. She glanced at the young woman and her eyes flashed with determination.
"Gather the people, keep an eye on them, and tell if they et soone else before leaving this city." Seeing one of his n approaching, Laing Wei glanced at the crowd gathered around them coldly before giving him the instruction.
He wanted to see if they really had a strong backing with them or if they were just making so excuse because of how shabby Yuan Ming's sword looked. How could disciples of a sect carry sothing as shaful as that?
Once they were at a safe distance from the man, Yuan Ming turned to Song Liu with a concerned expression. "Are you alright, junior sister? Did that man say or do anything inappropriate?"
Song Liu just shook her head with a smile on her face indicating that she was fine.
"Where is even the new Elder? She is so irresponsible; she should be here with us and who knows where she is.." Tian Heng suddenly spoke up In a loud annoyed voice, trying to sound goofy to cheer his junior sister up. "How can you call yourself an elder and be so laid back."
The more he spoke, the colder the expression of the woman wearing the veil got. Song Liu looked at her senior brother go on about her guard like that with an innocent look on her face. She looked at the woman beside her before looking back at him.
Her action went unnoticed by the boy who should have seen it; instead, Yuan Ming saw it and realized what was happening. His expression suddenly paled as the realization dawned on him. He was about to stop his friend from going any farther but then a strong grip on his shoulder stopped him in the process.
There was no way he could have saved his friend after he saw the pair of icy cold eyes staring back at him after turning around. He silently prayed for Tian Heng as he continued to speak.
'It was good knowing you, my friend. I will take your secret hobby of reading those novels to my grave with .'
"The way she acts all haughty, there should be a limit to how much presumption you can have." Suddenly he turned around while speaking and looked at Song Liu's wrong expression and looked confused. His eyes instinctively went to the beauty beside her who was looking at him with a cold gaze.
"I almost forgot," he ignored the look on her face and introduced himself with a smile on his face. "I am Tian Heng, thanks for taking care of our junior sister… Miss…"
A smile appeared on her face behind the veil hearing Tian Heng's question.
"Oh ~ You can call Shisan" She replied in a polite tone but her eyes remained focused on the boy as if she was stalking a prey.
"Hmm… I think I have heard of this na before, but I cannot rember when." Tian Heng looked in thought as they continued to walk, "It should be impossible, I would rember eting such a beautiful woman such as yourself."
Shisan's lips twitched hearing her words as she thought. 'Like master, like disciple, both are perverted.'
"But enough about that; please tell more about this elder of yours." She suddenly smiled and changed the topic and asked again. "Is there anything else you want to let out about that elder?"
"Now that you ntion it… that elder is kind of a pain, always coming in my way of… Ahem!" While Speaking he suddenly coughed before glancing at his junior sister shortly.
"By the way, I even find your voice familiar." After he stopped talking about the elder, Tian Heng stopped to look at the woman, "First your na sounded familiar now even your voice too. It reminds offf…."
As he paused to think, a clear image appeared in his mind, which overlapped with the face of the veiled woman. He ignored her face and focused on her eyes, which made him realize where he had heard the na before.
'You can leave without your junior sister, she has another mission with Elder Shisan.' The voice of his master echoed in his mind while his feet staggered backward.
"What happened? Why are you acting like that? You were not finished yet." The more he walked back, the more Shisan walked forward. If he had any doubts before, he was fully convinced about the identity of the person before him.
"Run, Yuan Ming, it's the monster woman!" saying those words, he turned around and stumbled before running away like his life was in danger, which was not really wrong after the words he just said.
