He twirled the spear and threw it in a different direction. When the attack exploded, it destroyed everything in a five-ter radius.
"You…" Hu Fei was at a loss for words. "Why are you doing this…?"
"Cough!" Bai Chen crawled out from the rubble, covered in blood and dust. His bloodshot eyes looked at the boy as if he had killed his family. "I am… still not done!"
Hearing his words, the boy simply shook his head and looked down at his hands. "You wanted to know why I am here, right?"
Small wisps of smoke ca out of his hand, and his wounds started to heal little by little.
It was not just his body that was regenerating on its own. He was using his qi to speed up the process, which gave away his real cultivation base.
"Golden Core Realm… First level…" Hu Fei's eyes widened in shock. Bai Chen could not believe it as well. He took a step back in disbelief.
"He is in the sa realm as …." His mind went blank. Then he looked at Hu Fei, who was in the fourth level of the sa realm.
"Don't be so shocked, this is my real cultivation." Seeing his hand all healed up, Nuo Yan waved it in front of their faces. "I will stop pulling your legs, seeing how pale you two look and also that your purpose here is served."
"What are you talking about?" Hu Fei cald herself down as a face flashed through her mind.
"There was a reason I even bothered playing around with you two in the first place," he explained.
"I was stalling for ti. Now that everything is in place, I don't need to do that anymore."
"You have an accomplice!" A look of recognition appeared on Hu Fei's face when she exclaid out loud. "You are just keeping us distracted here while whoever is with you is making a ss on the other side of that protection array that's keeping you from leaving."
"Protection array? Pfft! Hahaha!!" Under their confused gaze, the boy suddenly started laughing loudly. "You have never seen the Royal Palace's protection array, have you?"
"That thing is not your protection array." His revelation caused them both to realize that they had been thinking about it the wrong way.
"That is my own–"
*Boom!*
The boy did not have ti to finish his words as a huge explosion sounded far away, catching their attention.
The explosion brought a smile to the faces of both captains.
*Crack!*
*Kachank…!*
Following the explosion, a huge crack appeared on the veil in the air. The cracks spread through the whole veil like a cobweb and broke the whole thing apart like glass.
"What do you have to say now!! I bet you did not believe that soone could break that array of yours!!" Bai Chen laughed at the top of his lungs, seeing the veil falling apart like a shower of sparkles throughout the estate.
"Why…" Hu Fei's mood was not as good as Bai Chen's. She was looking at the boy with wariness. "Why are you still smiling?!"
Her words caught Bai Chen's attention, causing him to almost cough up blood.
"Finally~" Nuo Yan exclaid as he sensed a huge aura rushing in his direction. "I was not keeping you here to help my 'accomplice'. I was just simply stalling till–"
"Till I get back here…" Hu Fei almost cried in happiness when she saw the person who suddenly appeared before her.
"We et again, lazy uncle," the boy waved his hand at the man. It was Captain Black Sword, the sa person he had co across before.
*Woosh!*
Nuo Yan tilted his body, barely dodging a blade flashing past his neck.
"Going straight for the kill, huh, old man?" Jumping back, he created distance between them.
"Why did you go roundabout if you simply wanted to fight ?" The middle-aged man adjusted his straw hat and asked lazily. "You just made work up on that array."
"Who said I am here to fight you? I was here for sothing else, but a certain lazy person lying in the garden caught my interest~"
"Oye! Are you saying that you simply killed these people because you wanted to play with the Head Captain!" Hu Fei's anger flared so much hearing those words that even Bai Chen was scared of her at that mont. Even without any qi, her expression made her look dangerous enough.
"Head Captain, huh? Well, it's no wonder that you are a Head Captain with your strength…" Nuo Yan complented the man with a smile.
"These people aren't dead…" The middle-aged man ignored the boy and looked at the guards lying on the ground. He could sense so life force in their bodies.
Even though it was barely there, it was still there, aning that all of them were alive.
"…and I am not fighting you." Shifting his focus back to the young man before him, Captain Black Sword lazily replied, "You will co with us to see the emperor for your punishnt since you haven't killed anyone. I am sure it won't be your life."
The smile on the young man's face vanished, replaced by a cold and solemn look. "Did you think I wasted my ti to warm you up with the array for nothing?"
*Snap!*
He took a step forward and snapped his fingers. The sound of his snap echoed in the silent area as the sparkles falling from the sky suddenly vanished.
In next to no ti, the whole estate was covered by another array. This ti it was a cubical array that just covered their fighting area.
*Clang!*
"I am not a battle maniac like a certain brain-dead monkey here, but I sure as hell don't like wasting my ti for nothing." The black sword reappeared once more, stopping a punch from landing on its user's face.
"I made a mistake coming back from the vacation…" The middle-aged man sighed, realizing that he would have to waste more energy on the boy.
