Seeing the pleading puppy dog look in his friend's eyes, Noah felt a little weirded out while a chill ran down his spine. He never thought that he would ever see a full-grown man act like that.
"Ahem!" Seeing the tension building up in the room as Xin Yan and Elysia glared at Wuhan, Noah coughed and changed the topic. "Looks like you put in a lot of effort for this event."
"Indeed! I cannot take the future of the empire lightly." Hearing Noah's words, Wuhan's eyes flashed a look of gratitude, and he proudly explained the changes he made for the event.
"This arena is not ordinary, right?"
"You can tell that?" Wuhan, surprised by Noah's evaluation, shook his head before revealing the origins of the arena. "The arena itself is an ancient artifact! It has been with us since the dawn of the empire."
Noah nodded with a light smile, hearing the explanation from Wuhan. He did not ask about the detailed functions of the arena as he was not curious about it.
Seeing his lack of interest, Wuhan also did not think much and changed the topic. "You really created a ss in the Luminous Dusk City."
Noah turned towards Wuhan and saw a knowing smirk on his face as he ntioned the topic of his bet with Long Xiang. He was not surprised to hear that, after all, Wuhan was the emperor and he had the ans to gather this kind of information. Besides, he caused a lot of chaos when they were in that city.
Xin Yan smiled, recalling the scene she had seen that day, while Elysia clicked her tongue in annoyance for not being there to have a date with Noah. She made a ntal note to ask Noah for a personal date when they got the ti.
Noah simply smiled without saying anything in return and turned his face to look back at the platform in the center of the arena. On the stone stage stood a single man, Noah imdiately recognized this man as Captain Black Sword!
Leaning in the middle of the ground with his eyes closed. Other people might think that he was taking this chance to cultivate, but Noah knew better than anyone. The man was sleeping while standing straight!
The cool breeze of the wide swayed his clothes and a pair of bells attached to his straw hat with strings.
"Where are the contestants?" Noah asked curiously, seeing that the people were starting to get settled but there were no signs of the participants.

"Yes, I am aware of this matter, just dispose of the body cleanly." Wuhan calmly gave the guard so instructions before placing the talisman back in the ring.
"Not a single ti has happened when you ca to this city without causing a scene." Wuhan sighed in annoyance. Even though he helped Noah cover up his tracks, he felt a little annoyed because of his actions. "So are you going to tell who you killed this ti?"
"He was a servant under Hong Ye."
"Hong Ye... Hong Ye... where have I heard this na?" Wuhan narrowed his eyes hearing a familiar na but could not rember where he had heard it instantly.
"Ah... is he that boy? The one we t in the brothel! We should go there again soti–" As if recalling sothing, Wuhan slamd his hands on the armrest. Just then, he felt a sharp gaze on his body that made him involuntarily freeze.
He realized that he had indeed made a mistake ntioning that place and not just ntioning even asking Noah to go there along with him.
What scared him so much was that he felt not one but two pairs of dark gazes on his body. Although puzzled, Wuhan imdiately changed the topic to save himself.
"Ah, you were asking about the participants, right? Hehe, they are going through a screening process before the real event. It should not take more than a while." Wuhan shifted in his seat uncomfortably, beads of sweat accumulating on his forehead.
"Screening process?" Fortunately, his words caught Noah's attention, saving him from the torture of two angry won.
"Yes, it's a process to remove the troublemakers and those who are trying to take advantage of this event to get the resources for free." As Noah listened to Wuhan's arrangents, he spread his soul sense, making it cover the whole arena in a matter of seconds.
