"You almost went in, but it looks like you were fated for soone else than entering the temple." Noah stepped in front of Elysia with a blank look on his face. "I held back a lot from killing you the mont you laid your filthy eyes on her."
Snap!
He did not torture the guy; he did not give him the chance to scream in pain and just snapped his finger.
The sound was small. Unassuming. Yet it echoed like a death knell.
Xue Zhen barely had ti to register the sound before.
His body twitched violently. His veins blackened in an instant, bulging grotesquely across his skin as if sothing monstrous writhed beneath it.
His eyes rolled back, and then—
Pfft!
His body started to swell unnaturally. His eyes were the first part to burst, painting his face red. His face and body swelled so much that his neck was swallowed by the fat. Tears appeared on his robes before they were shredded apart and fell on the ground.
"N-no!" The terrified scream ca not from Xue Zhen; no, he was unable to let out even a whimper. The scream ca from the woman who was from the sa sect as him.
She looked at her young master with a face paler than the clouds in the sky. Her eyes were the window to her soul that showed how mortified she was.
Boom!
She had barely taken a step back in fear when Xue Zhen exploded.
A thick mist of blood exploded in a controlled manner. Instead of spreading in all directions, it splashed as if soone or sothing had slapped it away from everyone.
The woman beside her looked at the only drops of blood on the ground—the only thing left of her young master.
She did not even have the ti to process his death when she felt her limbs twist unnaturally.
"Please—" She tried to plead, reaching out with a trembling hand.
But it was too late.
Boom!
And just like that, she was gone in the sa way Xue Zhen was killed. Noah had not even looked in her direction from the start to the end and looked back at Elysia. There was no satisfaction or cruelty on his face, but only concern for the woman.
"You okay?" He whispered softly, reaching out to hold her in his arms.
Elysia had been staring at everything that had happened from the start without flinching. She calmly turned to look at Noah with a soft smile and clasped his outstretched hand.
"That was new." She chuckled, surprising Noah with her words. "Guess you picked up new things in the ti I was away."
Even though she tried to hide, Noah could sense the emotions she tried to hide from him. The bitterness of being away from him, even if it was for a mont.
They both knew it was necessary and could not be avoided, but they were too used to being obsessed with each other's company to think otherwise.
While the two of them were having a mont of their own, everyone else was staring at them with different expressions.
Xian i's eyes still did not move away from the chopped-off arm on the ground; the trembling of her hand showed that she had no experience in seeing such brutal deaths, not to ntion seeing it from up close.
Lei Yiran was different; he did not blankly stare at the ground, but instead he was looking at Noah with a serious, grave look on his face. It was not just him; even the monks were looking at the man without their usual smiles on their faces.
But they were not about to judge the man; Xu Tianhua knew what happened and understood why Noah did what he did. Instead, he only thought about how he killed the two demonic cultivators.
Truly, it was a fitting way for soone like them to go out.
Blown apart into a mist of blood.
It was too bloody for his taste, but the rciless Monk was not the Brainless Monk.
And as for the rogue cultivator, no one cared what he thought.
Even though everyone's thoughts differed, they all understood one thing.
Noah was more powerful than they made him out to be.
No one among them, not even Xu Tianhua, could have killed them so easily. He had made it seem as easy as snapping his fingers and didn't even sweat after doing it. This alone made him the most dangerous man present among them.
"No need to think about those Fiends." Xu Tianhua saw the pale Xian i and said softly near her head. "They would have died sooner or later. If not here, our sects would have killed them outside. They have committed too many sins to ask."
Xiang i rely raised her head and forced a smile hearing his comforting words. Xu Tianhua did not press further and walked away from her.
She might not have shown much reaction, but seeing him so close to her, Lei Yiran frowned for reasons he himself did not realize. He felt he should say sothing as well, and so he did…
"Hmph! Let the weak-hearted woman mope; let's enter the temple." With a huff, he walked forward with stiff steps. Those were not the things he wanted to say, but he panicked and blurted them out anyway.
And now he was too prideful to admit his mistakes or look back. So he continued to walk towards the gate.
Xian i froze when she heard his word, but then a tick mark appeared on her forehead. Her fist tightened as she rushed past the young man, not before forgetting to stomp on his feet, by mistake, of course.
"Guess we should head in too." Noah let out a strained laugh at their little spat before turning towards the two monks.
Xu Tianhua nodded with a smile, "After you, fellow Daoist."
As they all appeared beyond the gate, they saw Xian i staring at it with resentnt in her eyes. "Looks like I really cannot open it by myself."
Noah heard her muttering before stepping forward to place a hand on the gate. The others also followed behind, but Elysia stayed behind.
Xu Tianhua found it odd, but before he could question it, the gates creaked open.
