Elysia's eyes sparkled, her fingers dancing along the table. "Propriety?" she echoed innocently. "Is that sothing that helps you win a man's heart, or just a way to lose out on his at?"
Xin Yan didn't respond.
She knew the woman was baiting her by bringing up this topic. Elyisa was the only woman Noah had slept with till now, while she still had not crossed that line with him.
Yet sohow Xin Yan managed to not fall for her tricks and managed to control herself.
She rely leaned slightly forward, resting her cheek on her palm and blinking slowly. Her cold glare softened—just a touch—but now it carried a different kind of pressure. The kind that ca not from anger, but from… disappointnt.
That unspoken motherly aura that made even saints confess sins they hadn't committed.
"I see," Xin Yan said gently, too gently. "Then I will prepare the next al for him myself. Using my own hands. I wonder if he will still have room left for your... leftovers."
Elysia's teasing smile twitched. She opened her mouth but paused.
Noah blinked, glancing between the two of them. Before the fight could escalate, he put one piece of at in each of their mouths, silencing them.
"It was a bit sad that you had to go away; this domain was fun and more interesting than the ones we have been to." Noah brushed the loose strand of hair behind Xin Yan's ears and whispered with a smile, making the woman coo into his touch.
A sad look appeared in her warm eyes as she tilted her head and nestled her head into his touch. "I also wanted to continue our adventure, but we both know for what is to co, we need to be as strong as we can."
Elysia watched their interaction without saying anything and directed her anger towards the at in her bowl. 'She deserves his care a little too.'
"Why are we here anyway?" When Noah took his hand back, a flicker of loss flashed through Xin Yan's eyes before the warmth took over. She picked a cup of tea from the table and calmly sipped it with elegance.
Noah leaned back on the cushioned bench that had enough room for him to lie down with his legs still dangling down. He had to move back because a cat nad Elysia seed to be demanding a lot of attention.
She raised his arm and nestled into his arm like a cat. Her action caught Xin Yan's attention, but she only snorted once and looked back towards Noah's.
Elysia eyes Xin Yan before moving closer and closer towards Noah's stomach for so reason.
Feeling her inhale a deep breath in his lap, Noah inhaled sharply inwardly but kept a straight face as he answered Xin Yan's question.
"As you know, once we left the secret realm, we were attacked by one of the generals from the Red Dawn Cult, and he used that cursed power in the open."
Xin Yan nodded along with his words, but she did not even realize that she had unconsciously moved closer to Noah, maybe out of jealousy at Elyisa's actions. "Yes, but I had to go back into the immortal pagoda to renew the seal on my cultivation that was showing signs of breaking." Then she moved her head and looked around the room and continued, "But I did not expect that when I would co out again, we would be in a place like this."
Noah nodded and slowly explained how he had talked with all the elders of the three great sects, including the abbot from the Temple of Eternal Body. He had explained everything about the cult to the leaders, who, having experienced their powers firsthand, were more inclined to believe his words.
While he was narrating the contents of the talk he had with the mbers of the three sects, which were mostly him explaining about the cult, Elysia no longer felt satisfied with his scent.
She slowly raised her hands while keeping an eye on the snowy-white-haired woman, touching Noah's legs, slowly grasping them, feeling his muscles.
Noah naturally felt her hands creeping up on him but kept a straight face; the situation was awkward, but he allowed Elysia to do as she pleased.
"Soon after that, the abbot said that he needed to go to talk with the other two sect leaders and contacted them. But since they were at the royal capital having a eting with the emperor, Abbot ca here directly, saying this could not wait."
From their travels in the empire, Noah and Xin Yan ca to know that this empire was a little different from the Feng Empire.
The Quan Empire was one of the weakest empires, where the emperor did not have absolute rule. The sect leaders and the emperor ruled the empire together.
"…so I chose not to attend the initial eting," Noah said, voice steady as always. "It's too boring, and I didn't want to give the impression of overstepping or demanding answers when they could talk about these things without . So I stayed back—until they sent a formal invitation through the abbot, and while I am here, I decided to look around the area and find out how much this empire had been affected by the curse."
Xin Yan already knew that while they were talking casually, Noah's soul sense had already been at work. It covered the entire capital city, talking in every detail of the city.
And all the while, the green-haired troublemaker giggled faintly to herself, cheeks pressed into Noah's thigh like it was the world's most comfortable pillow. She looked completely lost in her own world, unaware Xin Yan had heard her.
Xin Yan, who had her attention focused on Noah, suddenly frowned.
She looked down.
And saw it.
Elysia's green hair spread out on Noah's legs. The dreamy expression on her face as her delicate hands were moving with the grace of a thief. Her fingertips gently pinched at the waistband of his pants, tugging playfully. Noah also froze, feeling Elysia's cold touch against his skin.
Xin Yan's eyes widened, and her face blood with a blush. Her teacup, halfway to her lips, froze in mid-air.
"What are you doing?!" She scread in panic and embarrassnt, startling Elysia. Yet despite all of that, there was a slightly expectant gleam in her eyes.
