Elize sighed faintly "The situation surrounding you is far more complicated than you realize."

"The Sovereign Circle may have declared that you won't be eliminated, but that doesn't an you're safe. There will still be factions watching you, waiting for an excuse to act."

"You're not out of danger just because they've decided to delay judgnt."

Brandon remained silent for a mont and he knew that just because he wasn't executed on the spot didn't an he was free.

Ravene, however, scoffed. "Let them watch. If anyone tries sothing, I'll handle it."

Elize didn't sound convinced "Ravene, this isn't just about protecting him from assassins or rogue factions."

"This is about the long-term consequences of what he represents. He is the first man to wield ether. Do you understand what that ans?"

Ravene's expression darkened slightly "Of course I understand,"

With a nod, Elize replied "You know how deeply ingrained this is in our society. The idea that only won can wield ether is not just a belief... it's a fundantal law of our world."

"And now, Brandon has broken that law simply by existing."

Brandon exhaled slowly, his fingers unconsciously curling against Ravene's arm.

Elize's voice softened "I know you didn't ask for this power Kael. But that doesn't change the fact that you have it."

"That's why we need to be careful. The Sovereign Circle might have ruled in your favor for now, but that could change if you don't tread carefully.

Elize continued. "As Esméry Verneuil suggested, it is better to join the Academy."

"It's the safest place for you right now. You need training, Kael. Real training. You need to understand your power, how to control it, how to use it."

"If you don't, you'll be a liability... to yourself and to anyone trying to protect you."

Brandon nodded his head "Yes. Aunt Elize..."

Ravene spoke with a teasing smile "You know, Solvryn is going to have a field day with him. A man with ether? Surrounded by thousands of ambitious young won? The academy has never seen anything like it."

Elize sighed "At Solvryn, you'll have structured training, resources, and, most importantly... the protection of the Headmistress herself."

Brandon let out a sigh "Mhm. Ok."

Elize seed satisfied with that answer "Good. We'll talk again soon. I will cancel the channel now. And Ravene-"

"I know, I know," Ravene interrupted. "I'll make sure he stays out of trouble."

Elize sighed again "Just be careful. Both of you."

With that, the encrypted channel flickered, and the call disconnected.

Brandon sat there for a mont before finally leaning back against Ravene with a tired sigh.

"This is going to be a ss, isn't it?" he muttered.

Ravene chuckled, resting her chin on his shoulder. "Oh, definitely."

She placed a kiss on his cheek "Don't worry.. I will be with you."

Brandon gave a faint nod.

She leaned back, stretching her arms above her head before giving him a casual look "Now then," she said, placing her hands on her hips.

"Shall we have dinner? I can order sothing."

"Yeah, let's eat..."

Brandon stood up from her lap.

Ravene followed suit, gracefully rising to her feet before reaching for a sleek, black tablet that had been resting on the desk.

She tapped a few icons, scrolling through a list of delivery options.

"Alright, what are we in the mood for?" she mused aloud, her fingers gliding effortlessly across the screen.

"I could go for sothing hearty... maybe so roasted at, buttered vegetables, and fresh bread? Or do you want sothing lighter?"

Brandon looked over her shoulder, watching the images of different als flicker across the screen. "That first option sounds perfect."

"Alright, then," she said, finalizing the order.

"I'll have them send over so extra sides, too. It should be here in about twenty minutes."

With the order placed, the two of them moved toward the couch in the lounge area, settling into the plush cushions.

Eventually, the sound of the doorbell broke the silence.

"That was fast," Brandon uttered before standing up.

Ravene stretched lazily "Go and get the food, will you?"

Brandon stood up and made his way to the door.

When he opened it, the delivery woman was standing outside with several neatly packaged containers stacked in her hands.

She barely blinked at the sight of him before handing the bags over.

"Here's the order for Lady Ravene,"

Brandon accepted the food, nodding. "Thanks."

With that, he shut the door and carried the bags back toward the lounge.

The rich aroma of roasted at, seasoned vegetables, and freshly baked bread filled the air as he placed everything on the table.

Ravene wasted no ti.

She sat up, grabbed a plate and peeled back the containers to reveal the steaming dishes inside.

"Damn, this slls amazing,"

Brandon grabbed his own plate, serving himself a generous portion before plopping back down beside her.

After finishing their al, Brandon let out a satisfied sigh, stretching his arms as he sank deeper into the couch.

Ravene, anwhile, leaned back against the cushions, her legs tucked underneath her as she lazily scrolled through her tablet.

She had finished her al not long ago, but she still nibbled on a small piece of fruit, glancing occasionally at Brandon.

"You look exhausted," she muttered, tilting her head slightly.

Brandon gave a soft nod "Well, yeah. It's been a long day."

She chuckled and set her tablet aside.

Then she stood up from the couch and brushed off her shorts before offering him a hand. "Co on, let's at least get you to bed. Lying down will help."

Brandon took her hand and got up. "You say that like I have a separate room."

She smirked "You don't. You're sleeping in my bed."

Brandon blinked in mild surprise "Wait..."

Ravene rolled her eyes, tugging him along by the wrist as she led him toward her bedroom. "Oh, don't act so scandalized," she teased.

"It's a big bed, and you need rest. Unless you'd rather sleep on the couch?"

Brandon glanced back at the couch, considering. It didn't look uncomfortable, but compared to a proper bed…

"Alright, alright," he relented, letting her pull him forward.

"And Kael... I am sure you won't attack in bed. We are close enough to sleep in the sa bed."

As they stepped into the bedroom, Ravene let go of his wrist and moved toward the bed, casually pulling back the covers.

She got into the bed first and Brandon followed lying beside her on the bed.

Ravene turned onto her side, propping herself up on one elbow as she gazed at him with a knowing smirk.

She casually reached down, adjusting her loose tank top in a way that made the neckline dip lower, revealing the deep curves of her cleavage "Co here, Kael.. I will spoil you."

Brandon looked at her enticing boobs and chuckled before jumping in and burying his face in her breasts.

"You are the best... Aunt Rave, your boobs are so squishy," he mumbled feeling his face squished by the at buns.

She hugged him tightly as she gently patted his head, threading her fingers through his hair.

Brandon tilted his head slightly, just enough to et her eyes and his gaze flickered downward for just a mont before he leaned up, closing the small distance between them and pressing his lips softly against hers.

Ravene was surprised for a mont before she reciprocated the kiss, as her fingers curled around his neck pulling him closer.

When Brandon finally pulled away, his gaze lingered on her lips which is now slightly parted and tinted a shade darker from the kiss "Your kissing skills have improved.."

Ravene let out a giggle "Maybe I am learning from the best..."

Brandon shook his head helplessly and again buried his face in her breasts.

Patting his head, her eyes squinted in thought "Seems like you have great experience in kissing and stuff... with your girlfriend."

She took a slow breath, "That's... a lot to take in, you sound like you're still trying to make sense of it."

"I an, if we had been fighting… then maybe I could understand. But we weren't. We were fine. We were more than fine. We were happy. At least… I thought we were."

Ravene's fingers moved lower, tracing slow, absentminded circles against the nape of his neck "And you really believe she loved you? That she was happy?"

Brandon sighed, his fingers curling slightly against the fabric of her shirt "Yeah… I do."

"I an, maybe that sounds stupid, considering how things turned out, but I know her. I know the way she used to look at ."

"I know... how she acted when she was with . The way she laughed at my dumb jokes, the way she would hold like I was the most important thing in the world. You can't fake that..."

Ravene humd softly, considering his words. "So, if that's true… then why do you think she left?"

Brandon exhaled deeply, his body sinking a little heavier against her "I don't know. That's the part I don't get."

"She didn't say she wasn't happy anymore, or that she had feelings for soone else. She just… said it was over."

"That she never loved . She just loved because my Sister is an Empyrean... Like all of it... everything we had... was just so kind of act."

Ravene patted his head as she could feel the pain in his voice "Well, let's not talk about her..."

"Just sleep for now."

With a nod, he hugged her tighter and intertwined his legs with hers relising in the warmth from her body.

A few minutes later, he drifted to sleep and Ravene's gaze narrowed.

'If she broke up like that... hmm, Elize wouldn't have left her alone.'
