Chu Hao sowhat regretted bringing the toad along, seeing him as nothing more than an old hooligan who made him look bad. He said, "What business is this of yours?"
The toad, feeling disgruntled, said, "Aren’t you just trying to play the hero and save the damsel in distress? Miss, the Evil Qi on your body, This Emperor can help you with that; it’s child’s play for ."
With that, the toad took a deep breath, and the Evil Qi on Qiu Qianxue’s body was sucked away in one gulp.
Instantly, Qiu Qianxue felt much lighter all over. She had been sleeping poorly and often had nightmares. Now, however, she felt much more alert, as if a heavy stone that had been weighing on her had been lifted. She looked at the toad in surprise.
That damned toad was stealing his thunder! Chu Hao said, "The Evil Qi on you has been dealt with."
The toad argued, "It was This Emperor who solved it!"
Chu Hao really wanted to say that since the toad was his pet, his actions were equivalent to his own. However, he held his tongue, worried that the toad might throw a tantrum and start a fight right there.
Qiu Qianxue blinked and said gratefully, "Thank you both."
Chu Hao waved a hand dismissively. "It’s nothing. Let’s find sowhere to eat; I’m starving."
Looking at Chu Hao, Qiu Qianxue felt he was quite different from when they had last t; perhaps this was the charm of a confident man.
Once they arrived at a restaurant and sat down to order, Chu Hao asked, "Have you co into contact with anything unusual recently? Like temples, God Statues, and so on?"
Qiu Qianxue thought for a while and shook her head. "No, I’ve been working constantly lately. I’m vying for the position of deputy chief flight attendant, so I’ve been very busy. I’ve even moved to the Imperial Capital."
Chu Hao asked, "Is there any problem with the place you’re staying?"
Qiu Qianxue thought for a mont and said, "I’m not sure. Quite a few of my colleagues are at that hotel; we all live together."
Chu Hao suggested, "Take to see it. After I’ve dealt with this issue for you, I still need to go to the school for registration."
Qiu Qianxue exclaid with delight, "You’ve co to study in the Imperial Capital? Which university?"
"The Film Academy."
Qiu Qianxue said playfully, "I’ll definitely find you to hang out when I have ti."
Chu Hao was, of course, happy to hang out with such an attractive young woman.
After eating, they went to Qiu Qianxue’s place. It was an older hotel, and Chu Hao noticed that most of the airport staff lived there.
Qiu Qianxue was a great beauty, so everyone naturally recognized her. They were surprised to see her bringing a young man back with her.
Chu Hao went to Qiu Qianxue’s room and began to inspect it carefully.
The proliferation of Evil Qi could be caused by many factors, possibly including the Feng Shui layout.
At that mont, soone knocked on the door. A tall, handso man poked his head in, saying, "Qianxue, what are you doing? Let’s go have dinner."
Qiu Qianxue shook her head. "No need, First Officer. I’ve already eaten."
The First Officer looked inside, where Chu Hao was surveying the room. He frowned slightly and asked, "And who is this?"
Qiu Qianxue replied, "A friend of mine."
"Oh! Qianxue, co out for a bit. I need to talk to you," said the First Officer.
With no other choice, Qiu Qianxue followed him out.
Chu Hao observed for a while and then went into the bedroom where Qiu Qianxue slept. He saw an item of personal clothing on the headboard.
Chu Hao looked at the size of the garnt and thought that Miss Flight Attendant certainly had an extraordinary figure.
Suddenly, Chu Hao sensed a faint flow of Evil Qi around the headboard and looked down.
Just then, Qiu Qianxue walked in. She saw Chu Hao bending over, apparently sniffing her undergarnt. The perverted sight made her cringe.
"You!" Qiu Qianxue, flustered, grabbed her garnt, her face flushing with embarrassnt.
Chu Hao touched his nose and smiled. "Slls quite nice."
The toad piped up, "Let have a sniff too."
Chu Hao said, "Go play sowhere else."
"Why did you sll it and not let ?" the toad complained unhappily.
Damn it, this toad is really sothing else!
Qiu Qianxue’s face turned even redder. She stamped her foot and said with a hint of anger, "You—you guys are so bad! Rotten to the core!"
Chu Hao said awkwardly, "I was looking for the source of the Evil Qi, wasn’t I? I’ve found it. It’s over by the headboard."
Qiu Qianxue pouted, clearly not believing him. The more she looked, the more she felt that Chu Hao and the toad were cut from the sa cloth—a pair of little hooligans.
Chu Hao sat on the bed and slowly lay down.
Qiu Qianxue watched him, an indescribable feeling stirring within her. He was the first young man to act so domineeringly with her; who else would dare to just lie on her bed like that?
Chu Hao turned his head, his gaze directed out the window. A faint stream of Evil Qi was seeping into the room through the window pane.
Qiu Qianxue had no idea what Chu Hao was doing.
Chu Hao said, "Open the window."
And Qiu Qianxue did just that.
When the window opened, they could see a tall building outside. The building was very imposing, but it exuded an aura of Evil Qi. It wasn’t finished, and Chu Hao sensed the Evil Qi originated from there.
The Evil Qi was strong. The building was at least two thousand ters away, yet the Qi could still reach the hotel room. This, combined with the room’s Feng Shui layout, ant it readily attracted the Evil Qi.
Chu Hao activated his far-sight ability to inspect the building more closely for anything unusual. That’s when he saw a pale human face in a window halfway up the structure. The figure was looking out, its dead-fish-like white eyes staring directly at him.
The ghastly pale face had clearly noticed Chu Hao as well, and its gaze was utterly terrifying.
Even Chu Hao was startled, goosebumps rising all over his skin.
"Damn it!"
Chu Hao abruptly sat up.
System prompt: "SS-rank mission triggered: Subdue the White-eyed Ghost."
System prompt: "Mission completion reward: Ten million Experience Points."
System prompt: "Mission completion reward: One hundred thousand rit Points."
System prompt: "Mission completion reward: One Green Diamond Treasure Chest."
He had just arrived in the Imperial Capital and already triggered an SS-rank mission. Talk about unbelievable luck!
However, the White-eyed Ghost in that building was formidable. It had noticed him from such a great distance, and its stare had sent shivers down his spine.
The mission’s objective was to subdue the entity, not to directly destroy this Ghost Fiend.
The toad also saw the Ghost Fiend and exclaid in surprise, "That’s a powerful Ghost Fiend!"
Not knowing what was going on, Qiu Qianxue asked anxiously, "What’s wrong?"
Chu Hao stood up and said, "The Evil Qi is coming from the building across from us. You should move sowhere else; this place isn’t safe."
Qiu Qianxue gasped and nodded repeatedly.
Then she said in astonishnt, "That building over there has always been creepy. It’s said to have been under construction for over five years, but no one lives there, and no companies rent space in it."
Chu Hao was puzzled. The Imperial Capital was a vast place; how could there be such a high-level Ghost Fiend that the Seventh District wasn’t handling?
Since a mission had co his way, Chu Hao wouldn’t neglect it. He was now eager to learn more about the White-eyed Ghost.
Chu Hao said, "You should move out first—the sooner, the better. I’m going to check out that building."
Qiu Qianxue nodded. "Be careful."
