Paulina’s voice trembled so much that her words almost tangled together. Her hands clutched Sterling’s sleeve like she was holding onto her last thread of sanity.

Sterling, on the other hand, was shaking so violently that his teeth nearly chattered. "M-Miss Lana... i-is that thing... screaming at us?"

Lana sighed. "Yes. It’s called pain. Ghosts also feel it."

Sterling whimpered. "I-I didn’t know they scread like humans..."

Mr. Crow clicked his beak. ’Then what did he expect? Ghosts singing lullabies while floating?’

The shrieking ghost clung to the edge of the roof for a mont, trembling violently as the burning sensation of mystic energy spread across its form. Its head twisted back into place, eyes widening as it recognized its attacker.

The ghost pointed at Lana with a trembling, transparent finger. "YOU! Why did you attack ?! I was just... hanging around!"

Lana crossed her arms. "You and your friends were causing chaos inside the house."

The ghost puffed up in indignation.

"We were BORED! Humans always scream when we appear, so we thought ssing with this house would be fun!"

Because of the mystic energy enveloping the ghost, its voice and figure beca visible. And even though she had stopped it at one point, the ghost was still visible.

Sterling let out a horrified croak. "ssing?! You pushed down the stairs!"

The ghost scoffed. "That was an ACCIDENT. I slipped."

Paulina stuttered, "A-And what about tripping near the kitchen?!"

The ghost paused. "...That one wasn’t an accident."

"YOU..." Paulina’s blood pressure skyrocketed on the spot.

Lana lifted her hand again, and the ghost flinched so hard its outline blurred. "W-Wait! Don’t! I have things to say!"

Mr. Crow puffed out his feathers. ’Finally, one with a brain cell.’

The ghost drifted down slowly, floating several feet above the ground. He looked at Paulina and Sterling before pointing at Sterling. "You there, you have the bad habit of farting by lifting your leg and even slling it. Did I say anything to you?"

Paulina and Sterling: "..."

Lana and Mr. Crow: (≧▽≦)

Mr. Crow imdiately fell off her shoulder, cawing with laughter as he rolled on the ground like a bird having a seizure.

"CAW! HAHAHAHA! CAW!! I KNEW IT! I KNEW IT! THIS BOY WAS STRANGE!"

Sterling’s entire soul left his body.

"M-M-MISS LANA! PLEASE! DON’T LISTEN TO HIM!! HE’S LYING!! HE’S A LIAR!!" Sterling scread, flailing his arms as if trying to erase the last ten seconds from existence.

The ghost folded his arms and huffed. "I do not lie! Especially about cris against humanity!"

Paulina glared at the ghost.

"Oh? You’re glaring at like that?" he said, drifting closer with a mischievous gleam in his translucent eyes. "Fine, Auntie, let’s talk about your habits."

Paulina stiffened even more. "W-What habits...?"

Sterling grabbed her arm. "Mom... don’t... don’t say anything. Act dignified. Pretend you don’t hear him."

Paulina nodded with trembling lips.

The ghost ignored their attempt at dignity entirely.

"Auntie," he began dramatically, placing a transparent hand over his chest like a storyteller, "every night at 2 a.m., you go to the kitchen to eat..."

Paulina’s face turned ghost-pale within half a second. "...the leftover fried chicken," the ghost finished proudly.

"That’s normal!" Paulina snapped. "Who doesn’t eat leftovers?!"

Sterling groaned and covered his face. "Mom, please..."

But the ghost wasn’t nearly done.

"Oh, I’m not talking about that," he said smugly, waving his hand. "I’m talking about how you sniff your fingers afterward and say, ’still good.’"

Paulina: "..."

Sterling: "..."

Lana suppressed her laughter and said with a straight face, "You have caused enough havoc."

With that, she lifted her hand, and the next second, streams of mystic energy were shot toward the ghost, which struggled before turning into ashes.

"N-NO! WAIT! I STILL HAVE SECRETS TO EXPOSE!" The ghost wailed, reaching desperately toward Paulina as if begging for one last mont of chaos.

Too late.

With a final sizzle, its body crumbled into shimring ash that drifted through the cold breeze.

Silence fell.

Paulina and Sterling looked drained and didn’t dare to say a single word, while Mr. Crow raised his brow. ’You did it deliberately, right?’

’Eh? What do you an?’ Lana pretended to be innocent, but in her heart, she was laughing like crazy.

Of course, she did it on purpose. Just from one look, and she could tell that the ghost had a lot that he wanted to say!

How can she silence a dying ghost? He has every right to speak. Their country supports democracy?

Paulina and Sterling remained silent during the exorcism of the fourth ghost. As if soone had pressed a mute button on them.

Maybe they were embarrassed because their hidden secrets were exposed, or maybe they were furious at the fact that the ghost dared to expose their secrets!

Anyhow, Lana peacefully finished her mission, got a 5-star review, and left without trouble.

Sterling watched Lana’s departing back and murmured in a dreamy voice, "What a pity... a lovely relationship that could have started from here was ruined by the ghost..."

Even though Lana didn’t say anything outright, her look, though pure, seed mocking to him.

Sterling shook his head; he knew his Lana wasn’t the type who would look down on him because of so personal habits (she does), but he still felt ashad speaking to her.

"Son, you should chase after her!" Paulina urged him; her face was still burning with sha, but she didn’t want her son to miss such a good opportunity.

"Mom, can’t you see? It’s impossible between us now! She must have the worst impression of !" Sterling pouted; his handso face made him look cute and endearing.

"Eh? What do you know? So girl might find it cute! I started dating your father precisely because he farted in such a particular manner!" Paulina said with utter sincerity.

Though Sterling was disgusted from the bottom of his heart, a hint of hope flashed in his heart.

Maybe... Maybe Lana might find it cute too?
