Then he nodded. "Go."

His voice was firm, leaving no room for argunt.

But before she could leave, he added, "Make sure you get the notes and the lecture recording later."

Lana gave a small smile. "I will."

’He’s making an exception...’ she thought as she quickly gathered her things. ’Anyone else would’ve been stopped imdiately.’

Without another word, she hurried out.

By the ti she reached the slum area again, the sky had begun to dim slightly, casting long shadows across the narrow alleys. The air felt heavier than before, carrying a faint unease that clung to her skin.

As she approached the hut... she saw her.

The middle-aged woman stood outside, trembling, her face pale, her breathing uneven.

The mont she noticed Lana...she rushed forward.

"Finally... finally you’re here!"

She grabbed Lana tightly, her hands cold and shaking. "They ca... they were here just two minutes ago... but the mont they sensed you coming, they ran away!"

Lana gently steadied her. "Calm down."

But her mind was already racing. ’They sensed ... from a distance?’ That alone was unusual.

She closed her eyes. Her senses expanded once again, reaching outward, probing the surroundings carefully.

Silence. Stillness. No cold. No distortion. No trace of negative energy. Her brows furrowed slightly.

’Nothing...? Not even a residual presence...’

That didn’t make sense. Slowly, she opened her eyes. Three possibilities ford in her mind.

’First... the woman might be ntally unstable... seeing things that aren’t there.’

Her gaze flickered briefly toward the trembling figure.

’Second... there is sothing here, but it’s far beyond my level. Strong enough to hide completely...’

A faint tension crept into her chest at that thought. ’And third...’

Her eyes sharpened. ’There are no ghosts at all.’

A quiet realization settled in. ’They might be human... just pretending.’

After analyzing all of these possibilities, Lana’s smile beca clearer.

She lifted her gaze toward the woman before her, her eyes steady yet gentle, and spoke in a calm, reassuring tone,

"Tracy, calm down. For now, those thugs are gone, and that is already good news."

Her fingers brushed lightly.

She looked directly at Tracy and continued, her lips curving into a faint, confident smile, "I have a very effective talisman. Do you want to try it?"

Hearing those words, Tracy imdiately looked over at Lana, her eyes flickering with a mixture of hope and uncertainty.

Without hesitation, Lana reached into her pocket and took out a talisman.

She handed it to Tracy carefully and said,

"As long as you flick this talisman into the air and it reacts, it ans the ghost has already been dealt with."

Her expression shifted slightly, a trace of seriousness creeping in as she added,

"However... I think there might be a small problem with this house."

Tracy blinked, confusion clouding her face as she stared at Lana.

Lana continued, her voice lowering just a little,

"What if this house has so kind of power that can create illusions? We need to confirm whether it’s the house causing all of this... or if there truly is a ghost haunting you."

Tracy looked at Lana, montarily stunned. ’She put it so clearly...’ Tracy thought, her fingers tightening around the talisman.

’She isn’t even accusing ... but she’s considering that I might be hallucinating...’

Seeing the shift in her expression, Lana nodded with a grim look, then suddenly asked, her tone sharp yet controlled,

"Since when have these incidents been happening?"

Tracy fell silent. "It started... after one of my relatives visited."

She swallowed, her voice trembling slightly as she continued,

"That relative is very rich, and we have a very good relationship. Every ti she visits, she brings various items for ."

Hearing that, Lana frowned faintly. A subtle suspicion flickered in her eyes. She gestured lightly and said,

"Show those items."

She was already suspecting that they might be cursed objects attracting sothing unnatural.

However, when Tracy brought out the items, one after another, Lana was stunned.

Each object carried a faint, auspicious aura.

She could sense it directly, these were items that attracted fortune and good luck.

Even sothing as simple as an apple radiated a soft, beneficial energy, as if it had been carefully chosen or blessed.

Lana took a slow, deep breath, her fingers brushing lightly over one of the objects.

’All of them... are good fortune items...’ she thought, her brows knitting together.

’Even if it’s just an apple, if it’s imported and treated... it could still carry value. But then... why is this happening?’

She looked back at Tracy, unable to find the root of the problem at all. The situation felt strangely twisted, like a puzzle with missing pieces.

Finally, she exhaled softly and said, "These items are fine."

Hearing that, Tracy let out a small chuckle, though it carried a hint of exhaustion.

"Actually... that cousin of mine is the reason I live such a good life," she said, her voice softening.

"Even though my husband is just a soldier... I’ve never lacked anything. She’s always been grateful... just because I once gave her a loaf of bread."

Lana nodded slowly, though the unease in her chest only deepened.

After returning to the mansion, she remained silent the entire way, her thoughts tangled and restless.

Mr. Crow glanced at her and finally broke the silence, his voice carrying a trace of curiosity, "Have you thought of sothing? Any theory?"

Lana shook her head, her brows furrowed slightly as she replied,

"The more I think about it, the more I feel that sothing is wrong... but I can’t pinpoint what it is."

Mr. Crow let out a low chuckle, his eyes narrowing slightly. "Well, there is sothing that feels off to ."

Lana turned toward him imdiately, her gaze sharp as she motioned for him to continue.

He leaned back slightly and said,

"Even if that relative is close to Tracy, it doesn’t make sense for her to constantly give such valuable items. And if she truly cared that much... why did she let Tracy marry a soldier?"
