Then, with a playful glint in her eyes, she added,
"Since you finally understand my taste, I won’t argue with you anymore... but give twenty million dollars."
Noah’s smile instantly froze.
"I... don’t have that much right now," he admitted awkwardly.
Margaret raised an eyebrow. "Then I suppose I’ll stop buying things from that talisman shop in the future."
Noah panicked imdiately.
"Wait...don’t do that," he said quickly.
’If I get promoted... I’ll need more equipnt like this,’ he thought urgently. ’And if she stops buying...’
He sighed internally, already realizing...
This was only the beginning of a very expensive future.
All in all, Noah understood one thing very clearly, he had to make sure his wife continued shopping, no matter what.
’If sothing like that jade can save my life once, it can save it again,’ he thought.
With a reluctant sigh, he opened his drawer and took out the savings he had guarded for years.
He handed over the twenty million dollars to Margaret, his fingers lingering for just a mont before letting go.
"Take care of this money," he said, his voice carrying a faint trace of heartache he couldn’t quite hide.
Margaret waved her hand casually, barely even glancing at him. "Yes, yes, I understand," she replied lightly.
But the mont her eyes fell on the money... a gleam lit up within them.
Noah’s lips twitched. ’...Was I too impulsive?’ he wondered uneasily. ’She might... not be the most reliable person with money...’
The next afternoon, Noah was summoned to the office.
The atmosphere there felt formal, almost stiff, as if sothing important was about to unfold.
Liam stood before him with a composed expression, holding a sealed letter. Without a word, he extended it toward Noah.
Noah accepted it, his brows furrowing slightly as confusion flickered in his eyes.
Still, out of habit, he straightened his posture and gave a firm salute.
The mont he opened the letter... his expression changed.
A slow smile spread across his face.
"Understood," he said, his voice carrying a restrained excitent.
He saluted again, this ti with visible pride. Just as he turned to leave a voice ca from behind him.
"Don’t be too happy just yet."
Noah paused.
He turned slightly and saw Liam standing there, his arms crossed, his expression carrying a faint, mocking edge.
"This promotion..." Liam continued, his tone low, almost threatening, "can be taken away just as easily."
Noah’s eyes flickered for a brief mont. ’Threatening , huh?’
But instead of reacting, he simply smiled. "I understand," he replied calmly.
Then he walked away.
For the first ti in days, Noah felt genuinely at ease.
In his good mood, he imdiately ordered several talismans from Lana’s shop, his fingers moving quickly across the screen.
’Might as well stock up...’
As he finished, he leaned back slightly, considering sothing.
’Should I post about this...?’
Before he could decide... he was approached unexpectedly.
At first, he thought he was imagining things.
Standing before him was the head of the Talisman Association, Boris, along with several subordinates.
Noah straightened imdiately and gave a respectful bow.
"What can I do for you?" he asked with a polite smile.
Boris observed him calmly before speaking.
"I’ve heard that you recently saved the son of a high-ranking official," he said. "And as a result... you were promoted."
Noah nodded.
Boris continued without hesitation. "I won’t waste ti. I want you to publicly promote our association’s talismans and state that your success was because of them."
Noah’s eyes flickered.
He tilted his head slightly. "Do you know how I actually survived?" he asked quietly.
Boris frowned. "So kind of equipnt, I assu," he replied.
"I’m not asking for charity," Boris added, his tone firm. "In return, I’ll allow you to purchase talismans from us at a twenty percent discount."
He spoke as if granting a great favor.
Noah pressed his lips together, then let out a soft breath.
"You might think that," he said slowly, "but that’s because you didn’t investigate properly."
He looked directly at Boris.
"The truth is... I survived because of an amulet my wife bought casually."
He paused. "From Lana’s shop."
At the ntion of the na, Boris’ expression darkened slightly, though he quickly masked it.
"I see," he said, nodding. "But in matters of profit, honesty isn’t always necessary."
Noah chuckled softly, a hint of sarcasm slipping through.
"Even with your so-called twenty percent discount," he said, "your prices won’t co close to hers."
He stepped forward slightly.
"Her talismans are more effective and more affordable. If anything, your association should start treating her as real competition."
Silence followed. Boris’ gaze turned cold.
"By siding with her," he said quietly, "you are making an enemy of the Talisman Association."
Noah shrugged lightly.
"If that’s the case," he replied, "then maybe I’ll just buy out all her stock in the future."
With that, he turned and left without hesitation.
Behind him, a loud crash echoed.
Boris slamd everything off the table, his face twisted with anger.
"Lana... again..." he muttered through clenched teeth.
Taking a deep breath, he turned to his subordinate.
"Go," he ordered coldly. "Ask her if she’s willing to cooperate. Offer her ten million dollars as an appearance fee."
"Yes," Giovanni replied, bowing before leaving.
anwhile, Noah didn’t stop there.
’They’ll definitely try sothing against her...’
Rembering how Lana’s talisman had saved his life, he made a decision.
He submitted a formal recomndation about her to higher authorities.
At the sa ti, he posted about his entire experience online, detailing the ghost zone, the danger, and how the jade amulet had protected him.
After posting it, he leaned back and scoffed lightly. ’It probably won’t get much attention...’
He had underestimated sothing.
Or rather, soone. George.
As one of the most flamboyant rich figures online, George had a massive following. His luxurious lifestyle had already made him widely known.
The mont he saw Noah’s post, he reposted it without a second thought.
The effect was imdiate. Lana’s shop exploded in popularity once again. Orders flooded in at an overwhelming rate.
