She was genuinely grateful that Lana had not simply ignored the bodies and left them behind inside the ghost zone.

Lana rely gave a small nod before storing the corpses back into the talisman.

Once they exited the ghost zone, the first thing they needed to do was report everything to the police. Otherwise, if the families of the deceased later ca searching for them, unnecessary trouble could arise.

Jas naturally agreed.

However, just as they were about to go to the police officer, Gwen suddenly tugged lightly on Jas’s sleeve.

Jas turned toward her in confusion.

Rolling her eyes, Gwen spoke in an irritated tone.

"Go help Lana submit the bodies to the police. Can’t you see how exhausted she looks?"

Only then did Jas properly notice Lana’s condition.

Her clothes were ssy and covered in dirt, her face looked pale, and exhaustion could clearly be seen in her eyes. Even the way she stood seed slightly unstable.

Jas instantly scolded himself internally for being so inconsiderate.

Quickly walking over to her, he spoke apologetically.

"Give the storage talisman. I’ll handle everything."

Lana looked at him for a mont before quietly nodding. She did not refuse his help and simply handed him the talisman containing the corpses.

Soon afterward, Jas and Gwen headed toward the police station.

anwhile, Lana searched for a nearby hotel.

After checking in, she headed straight toward her room.

Even though she was exhausted, she still rembered to send the hotel address to Jas and Gwen, informing them that she had already booked rooms for them as well so they could co directly afterward.

Only after handling everything did she finally enter the bathroom for a quick shower.

Warm water flowed over her exhausted body, washing away the blood, dirt, and lingering sll of the ghost zone.

Finally, Lana lay down on the soft bed.

She slowly circulated her mystic energy throughout her body, allowing the gentle flow of power to soothe her aching muscles and exhausted mind.

Even after resting for a while, Lana still felt traces of exhaustion lingering deep within her body.

Without hesitation, she took out several energy talismans and activated four or five of them in succession.

The thin papers floated briefly in the air before sticking directly onto her skin one after another.

The mont the talismans activated, streams of warm mystic energy surged through her body.

A soothing sensation imdiately spread through her aching muscles.

Only after feeling significantly better did Lana finally change into clean clothes. She slowly dried her damp hair with a towel before stepping out of the bathroom.

Sure enough, Jas and Gwen were already inside their respective rooms.

Not wanting to disturb them, Lana quietly headed downstairs alone.

The hotel restaurant was calm and quiet at that hour.

After finding a seat near the corner, Lana ordered breakfast before casually checking her phone.

Once she confird that there were no ergencies or unexpected incidents elsewhere, she finally relaxed and focused on eating.

Mr. Crow, who had appeared beside her as usual, leisurely enjoyed his own food before glancing toward her.

"You must be disappointed."

Lana paused briefly before nodding.

"When I first traveled here, I genuinely thought I would find so kind of spirit that could be controlled or tad," she admitted softly. "But reality has proven that finding a suitable spirit isn’t nearly as easy as I imagined."

Mr. Crow let out a low chuckle.

"In fact, instead of targeting ghosts that have already developed strong obsessions or purposes, you should focus on child spirits."

Lana raised an eyebrow slightly. "Child spirits?"

Mr. Crow nodded calmly.

"Most child ghosts possess less resentnt compared to adult spirits. Because of that, they have a much higher chance of evolving into stable spirits without becoming corrupted."

Hearing those words, Lana fell silent thoughtfully.

After dinner, she returned to her hotel room and quickly fell asleep.

Surprisingly, that night she did not experience a single nightmare.

For the first ti in quite a while, she enjoyed a completely dreamless sleep.

The next morning, shortly after waking up, she received a ssage from Jas informing her that he and Gwen were already downstairs having breakfast.

After washing up, Lana headed toward the dining area.

The mont she arrived, she imdiately noticed the strange atmosphere surrounding the two of them.

Gwen’s eyes were visibly red, as though she had cried recently. anwhile, Jas looked completely exhausted.

The mont Lana saw the scene, she instantly guessed what had happened.

Mr. Crow snorted lightly beside her.

"That girl keeps fighting with Jas constantly. I don’t think they’re a good match at all."

Lana rolled her eyes. "You’re looking at this from the wrong perspective."

Mr. Crow turned toward her with amusent.

"You’re acting awfully understanding. Don’t tell you still don’t realize that Gwen feels threatened by you."

Hearing that, Lana pursed her lips slightly.

"Even if I were in her position," she muttered quietly, "I might have reacted the sa way."

Mr. Crow looked at her in puzzlent, but Lana had no intention of elaborating further.

Instead, she walked toward the table and sat down casually.

With a grin, she looked between the two of them and asked, "So, what are we having for breakfast today?"

She acted as though she had noticed absolutely nothing unusual between them.

Seeing her behavior, Jas awkwardly forced a smile. "We haven’t ordered yet."

Lana chuckled and said.

"I’ll go get the food. You like pancakes, right?"

Jas nodded lightly.

Just as Gwen seed about to speak, Lana suddenly turned toward her. "You like waffles, right?"

She had seen it in one of the interviews.

The mont the question left her mouth, Gwen froze slightly in surprise.

After all, she rarely ntioned her food preferences to anyone.

Seeing her reaction, Lana chuckled softly. "I’ll take that as a yes."

With that, she stood up and headed toward the food counter.

The mont Lana walked away, Jas imdiately turned toward Gwen.

"See?" he whispered hurriedly. "She isn’t hostile like you think she is. Be more patient and understanding like her..."
