The mont the Knight condensed from starlight appeared, a vast and murderous aura spread out like a tidal wave.
He stood silently, as if he had been there since ti immorial.
Starlight flowed around his body. He held a Giant Sword angled toward the ground, its tip hovering an inch above the surface as an invisible force repelled all dust and gri.
"ROAR!"
The Mire Crocodile Dragon below had obviously sensed this sudden, powerful pressure.
Its lantern-like vertical pupils snapped toward the Starfall Knight. Its furious roar was mixed with astonishnt and dread.
The ferocious beast was quite intelligent. It could tell that this "tin can" clad in Starlight Armor was far more dangerous than those n on the big birds from earlier.
After a brief standoff, the Mire Crocodile Dragon’s ferocity once again took over.
It suddenly arched its back and pushed off with its thick limbs. Its massive body charged fearlessly toward the Starfall Knight like an out-of-control Siege Hamr, trailing a foul wave of mud and a furious gust of wind!
Its montum seed powerful enough to grind everything in its path to dust.
Watching from the Griffin’s back, Ed’s heart pounded in his chest.
’The power of this Mire Crocodile Dragon’s charge is terrifying! If I got hit by that, they probably wouldn’t even find a single whole bone of mine.’
However, facing this incomparably ferocious charge, the Starfall Knight did not move a muscle.
Only at the last mont, just as the Mire Crocodile Dragon’s fang-filled maw was about to touch his body, did he finally move.
There was no earth-shattering magic incantation, nor any flashy, dazzling opening move.
The Starfall Knight simply raised the Giant Sword in his right hand. On the blade, the faint blue glow of Magic Power that had been flowing there suddenly erupted, transforming into a brilliant, sapphire-blue starlight, as if he held a small piece of the night sky in his hand.
"CLANG!"
A deafening clang of tal on tal rang throughout the swamp.
The Giant Sword in the Starfall Knight’s hand, moving in a seemingly slow but incredibly precise arc, blocked the Mire Crocodile Dragon’s path.
The terrifying impact, strong enough to shatter rock and crack the earth, ca to an abrupt halt as if it had slamd into an immovable mountain upon contact with the Giant Sword shining with starlight.
The Mire Crocodile Dragon’s massive head collided with the body of the Giant Sword, creating a visible shockwave that sent the surrounding mud surging outward.
Its imnse Power was unable to push the Starfall Knight back even an inch.
"So... so strong!"
Ed stared, dumbfounded.
’He had never imagined that a human could withstand the full-force charge of a Tier Four Magical Beast head-on with such pure power.’
Raylo’s gaze sharpened slightly as his understanding of the Soul Horn’s power reached a new level.
’This Starfall Knight truly hasn’t disappointed .’
Thwarted by the first blow, the Mire Crocodile Dragon grew even more frenzied.
It thrashed its head wildly, trying to use its terrifying bite force to tear the Starfall Knight, along with his sword, to shreds.
At the sa ti, its tail, thick as a steel whip, whistled through the air with a vicious gust, sweeping toward the Starfall Knight’s waist from a cunning angle.
The Giant Sword in the Starfall Knight’s left hand moved.
With a flash of the blade, also wreathed in sapphire-blue starlight, it precisely parried the Crocodile Dragon’s tail.
"CLANG! CLANG! CLANG!"
What followed was a furious, storm-like battle between the Knight and the Giant Beast.
The Mire Crocodile Dragon used its enormous size and ho-field advantage, constantly flinging mud to obscure his vision. Its claws, fangs, and long tail were like the deadliest of Weapons, attacking the Starfall Knight from all directions.
Every attack was imnsely powerful, enough to cleave mountains and shatter stone.
The Starfall Knight, however, was like a block of Panshi, unmoving against the relentless assault.
The Great Swords in his hands sotis parried, sotis counterattacked. Every swing carried the light of a Star and imnse force.
The blades collided with the Crocodile Dragon’s hard Scale Armor, creating blinding sparks and a grating, teeth-cringing screech.
Although the Crocodile Dragon’s Scale Armor provided astounding defense, the Starfall Knight’s Giant Swords were clearly no ordinary items. Every effective strike left a wound of varying depth on the beast’s body, from which dark green blood seeped, emitting a thick, foul stench.
Watching from the air, Ed’s blood boiled with excitent.
"My lord, this... this Knight, he’s so fierce!"
Ed couldn’t help but exclaim.
Raylo nodded, his gaze still locked on the center of the battlefield.
He could sense that the Starfall Knight’s Power was not infinite. Every parry and attack was consuming the energy infused into it during the summoning.
’I have to end this quickly.’
On the battlefield, the Mire Crocodile Dragon was also beginning to feel the pressure.
The number of wounds on its body was increasing. Although none were fatal, the blood loss and pain were causing its movents to beco sluggish and erratic.
It couldn’t understand what the hell this indestructible, unyielding tin can was.
Just as the Mire Crocodile Dragon’s vicious lunge was once again parried by the Starfall Knight and the two were locked in a brief stalemate of power, the starlight flowing around the Knight’s body suddenly flared with unprecedented intensity!
’It’s coming!’ Raylo thought.
The Starfall Knight abruptly twisted his Great Swords, knocking aside the Crocodile Dragon’s massive jaws. He then bent his knees slightly and pushed off the ground, his enormous body soaring into the sky as if it were weightless!
He ascended at an incredible speed, tracing a dark blue arc through the air, reaching a height of a hundred ters in the blink of an eye.
The Mire Crocodile Dragon froze for a mont, seemingly confused as to why its tenacious opponent had suddenly "fled."
But in the next mont, it sensed a lethal threat from the sky.
High above, the Starfall Knight’s figure, enveloped in brilliant sapphire light, began to shrink and contort rapidly, finally transforming into an incredibly solid blue teor that radiated an aura of destruction!
Trailing a long, fiery tail, the teor changed direction and plumted fiercely toward the Mire Crocodile Dragon below with the force of a Thunderbolt!
"Starfall!"
Raylo hissed the word almost subconsciously.
This was the very move from which the Starfall Knight got his na, and it was also his most powerful attack.
"ROAR?"
The Mire Crocodile Dragon also seed to realize sothing was wrong. It looked up at the sky, and for the first ti, a look of terror appeared in its cold, vertical pupils.
It wanted to dodge, but the teor had locked onto its aura. Its speed was beyond imagination, leaving the dragon no ti to react.
BOOM!
The blue teor struck the Mire Crocodile Dragon’s savage head with perfect accuracy.
An earth-shattering explosion rang out, and the entire swamp seed to tremble.
A violent shockwave of energy radiated madly outward from the point of impact, kicking up waves of mud dozens of ters high.
The blinding blue light made it almost impossible to open one’s eyes.
Ed squeezed his eyes shut and shielded his face with his arm. The Storm Griffin also let out an uneasy cry, flapping its wings furiously to resist the powerful shockwave.
When the light had dimd and the shockwave subsided, Ed cautiously opened his eyes and looked down.
Where the Mire Crocodile Dragon had been, there was now a huge crater. The bottom of the pit was a complete ss, scattered with scorched earth and shattered scales.
As for the once-invincible Tier Four Mire Crocodile Dragon, its massive head had been split in two. It was no longer breathing.
A single, fatal blow!
In the sky, after unleashing this world-shaking attack, the starlight on the Starfall Knight’s body rapidly dimd, and his form began to turn ethereal.
He slowly descended not far from Raylo. His helted head gave a slight nod toward Raylo, and then his entire figure dissolved into specks of starlight and vanished into the air.
"GULP."
Ed swallowed hard, his face a mask of shock and awe.
’So strong... It was a completely overwhelming victory!’
Raylo looked at the spot where the Starfall Knight had disappeared, feeling quite satisfied.
’This Soul Horn really is a rare Treasure.’
"Alright, Ed, let’s go down and clear the entrance," Raylo said, retracting his gaze.
"Yes, my lord!"
Ed snapped back to his senses and quickly replied.
Raylo guided the Storm Griffin King to a slow landing on a relatively dry patch of ground near the entrance to the Temple ruins. Ed also directed his own Storm Griffin to land.
With the threat of the Mire Crocodile Dragon gone, Ed was full of energy.
He jumped off his Griffin, walked over to the entrance that was partially buried by rubble and dirt, took a deep breath, and began clearing it with his bare hands.
Soon, after Ed grunted and strained to move the last large Stone Slab aside, a dark and deep cave entrance was fully revealed before them.
The entrance was about two ters high and one and a half ters wide, constructed from huge stone blocks. Its edges were covered in moss and signs of weathering. A cold, damp air slowly seeped out from within, carrying the musty sll of ages past.
Raylo took an egg-sized Magic Illumination Stone that emitted a soft white glow from the Storage Pouch at his waist.
"My lord, be careful," Ed said nervously, wiping the sweat from his forehead.
’Unknown ruins are always full of danger.’
Raylo nodded, held the Magic Illumination Stone forward, and stepped into the deep passage.
Ed tightened his grip on his Knight Sword, quickened his pace, and moved ahead of Raylo.
The passage was deep and dark. The soft white light from the Magic Illumination Stone cast their two shadows, one behind the other, onto the mottled stone walls.
Moonlight lay on Raylo’s shoulder, its pale golden eyes staring into the dark passage without much reaction.
For Raylo, Moonlight was his most reliable guarantee on this trip deep into the Temple to find the Knight’s inheritance.
’Although I can’t order it to fight, I believe that if I ever face a true life-or-death crisis, the great Moonlight will surely intervene.’
As they went deeper, their shadows stretched and shrank, adding to the eerie atmosphere.
Ed gripped his Knight Sword tightly, walking half a step in front of Raylo, his gaze sweeping warily ahead.
The air grew colder, thick with the scent of dust and an indescribable sll of decay, as if pulling them back into the distant, ancient past.
"My lord, this place... it feels ancient."
Ed’s voice sounded hollow in the silent passage.
Raylo grunted in acknowledgnt, his sharp gaze observing their surroundings.
The passage walls weren’t crudely piled stone; they were built from massive, polished blocks. Although the seams were overgrown with moss, the fine craftsmanship of the stonework was still visible.
