The split soul of the Soul Device had read about the bizarre briefly ntioned in the Prophet Daily, but there was no more specific information.
But, for his soul to choose not to anchor in this body, it implies its state is even better than possession!
“Now, you must follow my instructions entirely. I’ll start assigning so new tasks to you.”

Now being possessed, Quirrell had no choice at all.
With tasks from the old master, this one would imdiately know too.
