No one moved after seeing the manager's furious eyes. He was either angry for his n's failure or angry that they fought and created a ss in his store!
This manager already knew that the man he had asked to be investigated was together with this woman who was most likely his wife or partner. He heard the man's conversation with the bartender and knew that he actually looted liquor better than the ones they had in their shop.
Because it seed that the man was unwilling to share this liquor, the manager planned to intimidate him into handing over the liquor so they could use it as a reference.
However, it obviously didn't end well.
The manager didn't want to get involved with this, so he signaled to the bartender and left. Well, he saw that the woman was carrying a revolver, so he had to back off for now.
The bartender, who had been watching from behind the counter, finally spoke up.
"You handled yourself well. These n have been causing trouble for a while now."
As he said this, a group of three people wearing the insignia of the Nightfall Nexus Clan entered the shop.
Soone heard the gunshots here, and it attracted their attention.
At this ti, Lysandra had already sheathed her weapons.
The bartender then explained that the thugs had gotten drunk and offended the beautiful woman, leaving her no choice but to defend herself and shoot them.
Hearing this, the three n looked at the beautiful but dangerous woman.
"Mhmmm… It's a good thing that you didn't kill anyone. You'll be working in the mining site for several days if you dare to break the rule." The man, who should be another Earth Survivor, warned Lysandra.
This made her furious as she was the victim here, but it felt as if she was the one receiving the scolding!
However, she also didn't want to make them their enemies since they were still guarding the bridge, and they might ban her from crossing it if she tried to speak and offend them.
After taking a deep breath, she cald herself and realized that these guys were indeed trying to infuriate her with the way they smiled.
It was as if they were waiting for her to make a wrong move in order to teach her a lesson.
However, seeing that she didn't react and simply nodded, the group of three just decided to bring those injured thugs elsewhere.
'This place is too dangerous. We should leave this place as soon as possible.' Lysandra frowned, her eyes still scanning the room for any remaining threats. She sohow felt that this wouldn't just end here.
Her eyes then fell on the lone bartender.
"I didn't co here to fight," she said, her voice softening. "I just wanted a al…"
The bartender nodded, a hint of respect in his eyes. "I apologize… It seems that your husband visited this establishnt last night and offended the manager. Ahem… Those people who attacked you just wanted to be in his good grace. It wasn't his intention to harm you. How about this… If your husband produced better liquor than the ones we have here, we're willing to pay it even for a steep price."
Lysandra confird that this matter was indeed unrelated to the Nightfall Nexus with his reply.
As for the liquor, she had no idea that Shane actually had one. She couldn't even be bothered to argue that the man wasn't her husband. Well, they were sleeping in the sa room, and they were probably aware of that, so it was not easy to refute it.
She also didn't like explaining herself to so random people.
She could only nod at this and replied. "I'll let him know."
With that said, she finally left.
She considered returning to her rented room to rest, but her thoughts were interrupted by the sudden blare of an alarm.
The piercing sound of a siren echoed through the Nightfall Nexus Clan's shelter, sending a wave of panic through the camp.
"Zombies!" soone shouted.
"We're under attack!" another voice cried out.
"Do not panic! The defenders are already on it!" a third voice tried to calm the crowd.
"They will be defending this shelter!" others echoed, trying to maintain order.
Lysandra's heart raced.
Shane hadn't returned yet, and she knew the shelter couldn't afford to fall.
It would be terrible if Shane returned with the shelter already infested with Zombies.
Without hesitation, she sprinted towards the wall to assess the situation. Although she sohow hated the people here, she knew that in order to live, she had to work with others.
As she reached the top, she was t with a sight that made her blood run cold.
An army of skeletons marched towards the shelter, their bones clattering with each step. There was also one figure clad in a dark robe at the very back of this army.
'Sothing's wrong here…'
These weren't zombies—no virus could animate skeletons like this. This was sothing else entirely!
Her first thought was to check her Regional Chat to ask if they also encountered this army of skeletons.
However, as she checked it, everyone was busy asking about the Golden Treasure Chest found in the deepest part of the lake and so other random things…
Lysandra's eyes then scanned the approaching horde as she knew that blunt weapons should be more effective against skeletons based on the gas she had played before.
However, she didn't have one with her.
Anyway, the skeletons' movents were slow, probably because of their shield and sword. Nonetheless, their empty eye sockets glowing with an unnatural light was quite scary…
She knew this wasn't related to the Zombie Virus. This was dark magic, sothing she had read in the regional chat.
'I read that one Skeleton Soldier costs 50 Spirit Points… There are over a hundred here… Just what kind of Survivor is controlling this.' Lysandra thought as she could only guess that this was so kind of Necromancy Talent from another Survivor.
Thankfully, there were about 20 defenders with guns and swords at ready.
The defenders of the shelter were already in position…
Among them stood a tall man clad in heavy armor, a massive hamr resting on his shoulder. His face was grim as he realized what was going on… It was different from Lysandra's guess.
"That's the leader of the Wild Shelter nearby!"
