The last rounds of bidding were almost ceremonial...
The Clan Leaders were already worn out, so counting their dwindling points, others silently celebrating what they had secured.
Many of them had even spent too much due to their burst of greed and competitiveness. As Shane looked at it, they seed to be regretting their decisions.
And then the final item was unveiled.
The attendants wheeled in a crystal-clear bottle.
Just like before, everyone could see a miniature ship, but it wasn’t an ordinary vessel. Black steel body, eight cannons, and it had a faint aura of destructiveness as if the warship itself had just co from a battle.
Many of them weren’t too excited upon seeing this.
This was especially true for those who didn’t have access to any sea or even a large lake.
"Our final item! A warship... contained in a sealed stasis bottle!" the auctioneer announced. "It is deployable on command. Self-repair enchantnts. A dread weapon of the seas!"
The room had once again beco lively.
"Fifty thousand..."
"Ninety thousand..."
"One hundred fifty thousand..."
"Two hundred thirty thousand..."
The hamr fell at 230,000 Points, much to the satisfaction of an armored survivor.
Shane, however, only watched silently. He had no interest. He already owned sothing far more versatile.
They were the vessels he had secured from the Mariner’s Vault earlier. Furthermore, a floating fortress outweighed a re warship, especially one bound to the sea.
The auctioneer gave a formal bow, closing the event.
"Thus concludes the Apex Chamber Auction. May fortune favor your conquests."
One by one, the elites filtered out or were escorted to finalize their acquisitions.
Shane remained seated until his guide approached...
"Lord Survivor, this way please," the guide said with a respectful nod.
They moved through a side corridor, away from the eyes of the other bidders, and into a sealed chamber.
Inside, attendants were already waiting, the items laid out on display for final inspection.
Shane’s gaze fell upon them imdiately.
First, the Mute Builders—twenty-four figures knelt in perfect formation...
They wouldn’t definitely be the best ch Fra builder!
Since they could build anything with a blueprint, then the ch Fras... Or even a Floating Fortress would be possible if they got them from the Anima Store...
In any case, they had branded seals on their necks. It was a mark of their absolute servitude. They weren’t warriors, but they didn’t need to be.
They were his workforce, his builders, and they would surely beco a huge asset for him..
Next, the Broken Floating Engine... Even broken, it was a higher-tier craftsmanship...
It was quite huge, so it was stored inside a special pouch instead. However, it was enough for Shane’s appraisal and Otherworldly Talent to confirm that it was the item he won.
Shane couldn’t help but smile as he thought of its potential. With it, he could probably start creating flying chs or another flying fortress.
As for the Floating Fortress, it was only as big as a football field, but it was already large enough to be called a fortress.
Finally, the receipt appeared before him, listing the costs.
Mute Slave Builders (12 units) — 200,000 Points
Floating Fortress — 710,000 Points
Broken Piece of High-Tech Device — 25,000 Points
Shane reviewed them carefully and nodded.
"Proceed with paynt," he instructed.
Just like that, his points were deducted—935,000 in total. Painful, yes, but entirely worth it.
The attendants bowed as the seals shifted ownership, binding the items to Shane’s authority.
"All yours, Lord Shane," the guide said with a smile.
Without wasting ti, Shane gave a nod. "You can arrange their transfer to my territory, right?" Shane asked, referring to the slaves. He could store the others in his inventory after all.
"Yes, sir. They can stay here for a while, and once you return, they will also arrive in your land, as the seal was already transferred to you. As for your gift, the administrator will personally give it to you after the Event, before you get transferred."
"Great..." Shane nodded as he recalled that spending over 200,000 Points ans that he was indeed eligible for a gift.
And with that, Shane decided to change his outfit... Instead of his Bio-Armor, he decided to weaken his Zombie Mask!
[ Zombie Mask ( Legendary ): A scary and realistic mask that resembles a terrifying zombie’s face. As soon as he wore it, his body, clothes, including his aura had completely changed! He had suddenly beco a Zombie.
There was no real big reason for doing this.
He just started being suffocated for wearing the Armor for such a long ti.
’Nice... This Zombie Mask feels better...’ Shane thought as he appeared to be similar to a Hunter Zombie. Moving also felt more comfortable.
On the other hand, the guide didn’t say anything after seeing Shane transform. However, he certainly looked impressed by what he had just witnessed.
As soon as he was guided outside, Shane looked at the sky... It had beco cloudy.
More than two hours passed during the auction, and they still have plenty of ti for other events.
Still, there was no ti to linger. He checked the map and confird Max’s stall marker was still on the Map, the Juggernaut’s Armor Set was still waiting for inspection.
"Now then... let’s see if this armor is worth 210,000."
He vanished into the bustling Market Bazaar, heading east toward the smithing district where Max was waiting for him.
The bustling Market Bazaar was as noisy and chaotic as ever...
But the mont Shane stepped in, fully disguised by his Zombie Mask, a few Survivors flinched.
The survivors closest to him completely froze. Their eyes widened in disbelief as they had no idea that a Zombie could co here!
"Z-Zombie?!" soone shouted, hand already reaching for their sword.
Several weapons were instantly drawn...
However, Shane just walked forward, calm and steady, as if nothing was happening.
One second. Two seconds. Three seconds...
And then the smarter ones realized it.
"Wait—wait! That’s no zombie! Look—look at his movent!"
