Chapter 858: Corrupted Tyrant
The elves shifted positions seamlessly, alternating fire to maintain pressure.
Thanks to their innate talents, the elves’ shots were all precise and every triggered explosion was successful.
Soon, even the Automated Turrets began hitting more consistently, aided by the temporary stability the Elves’ volleys created.
Just like that, another wave of explosions rocked the air.
The last few Corrupted Chiefs tried to retreat higher, but it was already too late.
Eirwen raised her weapon once more, as she felt really strong right now… She wasn’t satisfied with these flying Zombies alone. She wanted sothing stronger…
“Ahh… I’m getting too impatient. Did those 5 buffs from the Painting and Sculptures make like this?” she whispered.
Apparently, she had received various buffs from the monunts, sculptures, paintings, and other works within the shelter…
Most of them increased her offensive and defensive ability, but there were a few of them that also boosted confidence and seed like a dangerous buff.
‘I should still learn to be afraid.’ Eirwen muttered to herself as she took out her final bolt…
With a deep breath, she gathered her mana and released it…
This final bolt streaked across the sky like a cot and exploded amidst the cluster of the Winged Zombies!
Boom!
A massive blast followed. It was a chain reaction of mana detonation that vaporized the remaining enemies in a single flash.
Just like that, the sky went quiet.
Only so falling embers and drifting black ash remained.
Then ca the familiar chi of the system.
[ Aerial Threat – Neutralized. ]
It was Cloud’s report…
“Good work. But stay sharp. That was just the second wave.” Shane reminded. Then, he also ordered the elves to replenish their quiver…
It was at this ti that Cloud made another report.
[ Detected: Massive gathering of Zombies in the eastern sector. Unknown entity approaching. ]
Shane’s gaze turned toward the map. It had the thinnest defense line, but Shane wasn’t worried.
After all, even if he didn’t mobilize Warden Units there, it had enough mounted defenses, and also, two Legendary Recruits protecting that place!
They were both recruited by Layla with their Legendary Recruitnt Stone and had been working with them for a long ti now…
They were Earl the Phantom Blade and Taylor the Iron Paladin!

At this ti, the ground shook as the eastern plains beyond the barrier were being ripped apart by the Zombies rushing forward…
Massive silhouettes continued to rush, and soon, they had a clearer view of the Zombies…
‘Hmm… A red night version of Tyrant Zombies?’ Shane mused as he saw the feed.
Each over three ters tall and brimming with blackened veins… If he was going to guess, they were probably Corrupted Tyrant Zombies.
Soon, the defensive turrets unleashed another wave of plasma bursts, but the Tyrants barely slowed down. Their hardened armor-like hides absorbed most of the impact.
At the gates of the eastern hall, Taylor gripped the hilt of her greatsword…
Her horse, the steel-plated war steed Stormbane, pawed the ground, while snorting so arcs of electricity…
“Guess we won’t get any rest today…” Taylor muttered as she looked at the huge number of tyrant zombies rushing at them…
Thud! Thud!
She then slamd her gauntlet against her chestplate, activating the engravings on her armor.
It was her armor’s ability… Iron Domain!
Whom~
A ripple of golden energy spread outward, creating an invisible barrier around her…
Beside her, a gust of wind followed.
Earl erged with his black coat… He had twin curved blades already in his hands. His presence was almost ghostlike as his steps made no sound even if he was close to Taylor… Even the wind seed afraid to disturb his movents.
“That’s early, Taylor.” Earl said… “The traps barely slowed them. You should’ve used the Iron Domain later. Anyway, we’ll have to handle this the old-fashioned way.”
Taylor smirked and nodded. “That’s fine by .”
Soon, the Tyrants ca into view. There were ten of them, and they were stomping forward, creating cracks on the ground as they moved…
Behind them, hundreds of lesser Zombies followed as the Tyrants cleared the path.
“They look strong… Just engage at will!” Taylor commanded.
Earl nodded at this and vanished.
In the blink of an eye, he was already in front of the first Tyrant.
His body moved so fast that the Tyrant Zombie didn’t even notice his presence!
Slash!
Slice!
Crack!
By the ti the Tyrant swung its arm, Earl had already cut through the tendons in its wrist and dashed past its knee joint. Black blood and flesh sprayed, and the monster collapsed to one side!
He was the Phantom Blade for a reason!
Earl’s figure moved again, leaving afterimages in the red mist as he aid for the next Tyrant’s eyes.
anwhile, Taylor raised her sword…
She channeled lightning through her weapon, and even Stormbane, her steed, helped with it!
“Charge!”
The two surged forward, one cloaked in shadow, the other riding a horse that was being surrounded by thunder.
Stormbane’s hooves slamd into the ground, shattering stone and mud alike!
Taylor swung her greatsword in a wide arc… Of course, its blade was infused with lightning and it struck the Tyrant Zombie!
BOOM!
The shockwave blasted through the eastern field, tearing a crater beneath the monster’s feet. The sll of burnt flesh imdiately filled the air!
But the Tyrant wasn’t down yet. It was heavily damaged, but its head was still intact…
It roared, swinging its claw toward her with enough force to crush a boulder!
Hmph!
Taylor gritted her teeth and used another ability…
Iron Wall!
A hexagonal barrier ford instantly, absorbing the blow.
Bamg!
The impact sent ripples through her armor, but she held firm.
To be exact, it didn’t really do much against her as she thought about it…
‘Huh? It’s weak?’ Taylor was confused… But she soon realized that she was actually just that strong!
At this ti, Earl reappeared behind the Tyrant’s neck and got the killing blow!
“Taylor… I’ll take care of the Corrupted Tyrants… You can deal with the lesser ones with your steed at the back…”
