Chapter 928: New Era

Several days quickly passed, and many groups of Survivors and recruits started exploring the world…

It was because the system had confird that there wouldn’t be any Zombie Wave for a long period, but there would still be Zombies lurking everywhere and Zombie Lord Territories around.

Because of that, the search for new territory had expanded, and nurous groups were ford to find better lands.

While Shane was busy coordinating with many other Clan Leaders and Shelter Owners, a unique expedition team had ford…

This one was not assigned by command, but assembled by choice.

It wasn’t a formal unit, and it wasn’t even bound by rank or protocol. It was a coalition of people who understood that the next shelter wouldn’t be found by drones or maps alone.

At the center of it all was Sandra, the Flight Talent holder.

She had always been a solitary fighter. Her combat style relied on aerial mobility, precision archery, and long-range reconnaissance. With Eagle Sight, she could mark targets from hundreds of ters away. With Wind Glide, she could stay airborne for extended periods, circling battlefields like a hawk. But she knew her limits. She couldn’t hold ground and couldn’t survive a zombie ambush without backup.

So she built a team.

Through her connections across Shane’s shelters, Sandra recruited a group of specialists, each one chosen not for rank, but for synergy… or so she believed.

The first to join was Eudora, an elf from New Genesis Shelter.

Unlike most of her kind, Eudora didn’t wield bows or blades.

Instead, she wore an exosuit gifted by Shane himself. It was powered by Mana Crystals so it enhanced her nature-based talents, allowing her to manipulate terrain, reinforce allies, and deploy attack power that normal elves couldn’t.

Seeing an elf in powered armor was strange, but Eudora made it work.

Next ca Bon, a hybrid human… He was basically 70% machine and 30% flesh. His body was mostly made of complicated gears and circuits with hydraulic joints, and a neural interface that allowed him to process battlefield data in real ti.

Bon didn’t speak much, but his analytic skill and raw strength made him indispensable. He could scan terrain, detect energy fluctuations, and most of all, he could easily lift collapsed debris that could block their path.

Then ca Monk Chaloem, the Aura User.

He wore no armor and carried no weapons, but his presence was unmistakable.

Chaloem’s aura could shield allies, disrupt undead aggression, and even suppress cursed zones with his holy aura… He was basically a walking sanctuary and a very powerful threat to anything unnatural.

Lysandra joined next. A swordswoman with a reputation for surviving impossible odds thanks to her Quick Learner Talent…

Her blade was known to be Legendary Grade, and her gear was filled with strange items like smoke beads, blink talisman, and various items she refused to explain. She didn’t talk much, but when she did, people listened.

Furthermore, she was the one closest to Shane among their group, and they knew that she had benefited a lot from that…

Finally, three warriors from Springriver Manor volunteered to join.

Chris, with his Iron Muscles Talent. As the na implies, his muscles were like braided steel. His strikes could shatter bone, and his resilience made him the team’s frontline most of the ti…

Jake, with Ogre’s Constitution, was the team’s frontliner as well. His regenerative abilities allowed him to absorb damage that others couldn’t. Poison, disease, fatigue… none of it stuck.

Liam, the youngest of the three, had Berserker’s Vigor Talent. His combat style was reckless, explosive, and terrifying, but it was sothing he could control.

Well, these three were actually squad captains in the manor with a dozen or so people following them.

However, with the announcent from the system that there wouldn’t be any events like Zombie Wave and Red Night, they knew that it would be their chance to explore the world.

After all, they were now Level 55 and strong enough to deal with multiple High-Tier Zombies at once and even a Zombie King if they just worked together…

Together, they ford a unit unlike any other.

Sandra called this team she ford as the Vanguard Wing.

Their mission was simple… They had to explore the outer zones, locate viable shelter sites, and secure any resource locations they encountered.

Obviously, the terrain was hostile. Zombies still road the wilds, and there were zones filled with undead energy.

And the Overlord Clan’s scouts were rumored to be actively searching for so people who were related to their Clan…

Still, they were adamant about finding the best spot for their next shelter.

The next day, they departed from the New Genesis Shelter to continue moving to the east, beyond Sector 20…

They do not have any vehicles, but it doesn’t matter for their group since the roads were either blocked or unusable due to damage.

At this ti, Sandra flew ahead, scanning the horizon with Eagle Sight.

The others moved from behind…

Bon and Chris at the front, Chaloem and Jake in the center, Eudora and Lysandra flanking, and Liam trailing as rear guard.

Their first destination was a ruined lakeside town, marked on an old pre-apocalypse map as Rivershade. It had once been a fishing village, with docks, warehouses, and a hydro station nearby. If it still had structural integrity, it could be converted into a shelter. If not, they would move on.

Furthermore, it might even be covered by the earth already due to a landslide or other phenonon.

“Movent ahead,” Sandra called through the radio. “We have six mid-tier Zombies… Looks like they’re feeding. They look like Screar Zombies to …”

Bon’s eyes faintly glowed as he scanned the area.

“Confird. No other Zombies around. We can engage.”

Chris cracked his knuckles. “Just six Screar Zombies? I can deal with them alone. Let’s stay on the path.”

Jake nodded. “I’ll follow you just in case…”

Lysandra also nodded, and she didn’t even bother drawing her sword.

For this team, even if they faced 20 or so High-Tier Zombies, they wouldn’t even flinch…

“Alright, just make it quick. We’ve got distance to cover.” She reminded…
