The next day began with Kai’s voice echoing through the ss hall.
Everyone within the shelter had gathered here under his command.
So are still sleepy because they were on night shift, while others are just groggy from waking early.
Regardless of their condition, they had all co because Kai had inford them that their current path needed to be discussed right now.
"From today onward, all Foreign Survivors must provide one Survivor dal each month. That will cover your two als a day. As for the locals, since you don’t have access to Survivor dals, you’ll continue to serve through your duties..."
Soon, Kai explained the coverage of the dals and how the others would continue on their daily tasks...
The announcent rippled through the crowd.
They all agreed to this demand since there was a need for order. Since Kai could give them that, they didn’t mind following him...
Soon, Kai reminded them of the Status Crystal, the tool that revealed the locals’ stats and skills since they couldn’t access the System directly.
From the information they had gathered, the locals had been divided into two groups... the Support and Fighter Groups...
The Support Group, where nurse Irene, chef Mila, Rudy, and others belonged, was tasked with cooking, cleaning, laundry, and keeping the shelter running smoothly. Ten hours of labor a day was their paynt for food and resources.
On the other hand, the Fighter Group, where Russel, Augustine, Gabby, Dylan, and several others were expected to join combat operations against the chanized soldiers of the A.I. Army... They should all be working alongside the three combat teams...
Wallace’s Wall Defenders, Claire’s Assault Team B, and Ralph’s Assault Team A.
"Of course... The more Survivor dals you contribute, or the more useful resources you scavenge outside, the more rewards I’ll provide."
This hinted at the fact that they could get more bullets from him.
Everyone knew Kai was the only one capable of producing bullets in large quantities. Foreign Survivors had recently received crates of ammo, but most of it was mismatched.
There were shotgun shells and many high‑caliber rounds that didn’t fit their weapons.
Kai’s bullets, on the other hand, were perfect for their revolvers...

After everyone agreed to Kai’s arrangent, breakfast began soon after.
Rudy, sweating from the heat of the kitchen, ladled steaming noodle soup with atloaf and moringa leaves into bowls.
Survivors lined up, one by one, until only Terrence remained at the end of the line.
Terrence’s eyes lit up... He had an idea!
Since he hadn’t tried using his new Skill yet, he might as well do so tests right now.
’Perfect. He’s tired, distracted, and no one pays attention to the last man in line.’
He then activated his new skill and targeted Rudy!
Just like that, his Hypnotic Suggestion hit Rudy, costing him 20 Spirit Points...
"Ahh..."
Rudy’s eyes dulled, and soon, his movents slowed.
"Give another serving," Terrence whispered.
Without hesitation, Rudy handed him a second bowl.
Terrence smirked, savoring the victory as much as the soup.
’So it works. He shouldn’t rember this, just like what the system said, but let’s see...’
The only problem now was the fact that he couldn’t cancel the Skill early!
The 10 minutes must be completely used up!
"Ahem... Rudy, just work like you do every day. Act normal." Terrence imdiately said, and as expected, Rudy just continued on his work in the kitchen.
It was just a simple test, but it should be enough to prove the skill’s power.
Soon, he returned to his seat and silently ate his al...
’If I can make Rudy forget, I can make anyone forget. This should work... I’ll be able to control this shelter from behind the scenes...’
As he thought of this, he finally decided to use all of his remaining Skill Points to enhance his Gene Skill!
[ Skill: Hypnotic Suggestion Lv5 ]
[ Description: Allows the user to place a target into a trance, manipulate their minds, suppressing mory and awareness for up to 24 minutes. Duration may extend depending on the target’s ntal resilience. Target will forget all actions during the effect. ]
"Now... This looks more exciting..." Terrence muttered after seeing the effects.
Soon, he noticed that Rudy ca to his mind, and after a few monts of hesitation, he just returned to his work as if nothing had happened. He probably felt like he had just dozed off while working.
’That’s perfect...’
Soon, his gaze drifted across the hall.
Claire’s Assault Team B sat together, laughing and eating. Wallace’s Wall Defenders were already discussing patrol schedules. Ralph’s Assault Team A cleaned their guns even as they ate.
Terrence’s grin widened...
He really wanted to sow distrust imdiately, so he could swiftly take control of a huge part of the shelter.
However, he considered enjoying himself for now...
His eyes turned toward Sera, Althea, Elena, and Marissa.
Terrence licked his lips, suppressing a laugh.
’Just one target at a ti. The skill only works on one person, so I’ll need to be patient. I’ll have to learn their schedules, wait for the right mont, and strike when they’re alone...’
He knew that each of them had their routines.
He vaguely heard that Sera would sotis help Irene with dical duties, Althea often joins Wallace’s patrols even if she didn’t have to, while Elena spends ti with Ralph’s shooters, and Marissa... he wasn’t sure about her yet.
Terrence’s fingers tapped against the table as he considered what to do...
However, before he could dwell further, Claire looked for the new recruit, Alfie, before calling for the rest of her team.
"Assault Team B, gather up. We’re moving out."
Terrence straightened as he controlled his expression.
Soon, he joined the other eight mbers of the team as they prepared to leave.
Claire then inford everyone about today’s mission to search for a Gene Trader nearby. According to the system, they were still out there, waiting to exchange rare items for Survivor dals.
"I got eight Survivor dals. I want to buy the Alpha Gene Serum... What about you, Terrence?" Claire asked as they left the shelter.
They were already far away from the shelter at this point.
"I have ten... Hehe... I completed more hidden missions than you, I guess." Terrence replied with a laugh.
Then, he couldn’t help but observe Claire carefully...
’She’s not that bad... Should I test the skill on Claire tonight?’
But before he could settle on a plan, sothing unexpected happened.
They heard a buzzing sound coming from the sky!
