Angelo gave a short laugh, though his eyes stayed cold.
Even if Kai’s group now knew that his shelter had spare motorbikes and fuel tanks, it didn’t matter. After all, Angelo’s side had already learned sothing just as important... the shelter in front of them had MREs inside.
"Call it whatever you want. Threat, warning... doesn’t matter. Just rember, we’ve survived worse than this. If you think you can keep everything locked away, sooner or later soone will co knocking harder than we did today. It’s not too late to trade with us..."
Kai didn’t flinch. "Then let them try." He had no reason to waste more words.
Although Kai had no idea what kind of Talents or Gene Skills these bikers possessed, it didn’t matter. Angelo’s group was also unaware of Freedom Shelter’s true capabilities. That balance of uncertainty kept both sides cautious.
For a mont, the two n stared at each other across the barricades. The bikers behind Angelo shifted nervously, gripping their rifles. The guards on the ramparts tightened their hold on their weapons, waiting for Kai’s signal.
Finally, Angelo swung his leg over his motorbike.
’They must be recuperating. There’s no way they occupied this shelter without casualties... However, there are only nine of us right now. It would be better to call for backup and return at night,’ Angelo mused. He didn’t dare underestimate their force.
He wasn’t arrogant enough to believe his Talent and Skills alone would be enough to raid this place.
Still, he was hoping to lure so of them outside and ambush them to make things easier. But that tactic was useless if they refused to leave the shelter.
"Fine. We’ll leave. But our offer is still open. In case you change your mind, you’ll find us in a swamp in this direction. Once we notice your arrival, we’ll lift the fog to let you in." Angelo kept his tone calm. He didn’t want them to grow too suspicious about his shelter.
Soon, the engines roared to life. Just like that, dust rose as the nine bikers finally left.
i then stepped closer to Kai. "Are you sure? They’ll be back..."
Kai nodded. "It’s fine... Let’s prepare for now. Even if they have plans, I don’t think they’ll be able to act freely."
The guards relaxed slightly, but the tension was still there...
Everyone inside Freedom Shelter understood what Angelo’s words ant. The bikers were desperate, and desperate n were dangerous.
However, it seed that Kai was already aware of what was about to happen...
Apparently, a few hours later, a system ssage appeared.
It was another Global Event!
This ti, it was no longer a ch Siege Event or a Field Boss Event. It was sothing completely different.
[ Global Event is Here! ]
[ Upcoming Hostile Operation: Surveillance Sweep ]
[ Countdown: 5 Days ]
[ Duration: 7 Days ]
[ Objective: Survive continuous drone sweeps across all regions. Drones will scan for survivors, marking detected targets for hunter bot deploynt. Survivors must hide, jam signals, or destroy drones or face the reinforcents of the Swarrs. ]
[ Rewards: High Experience Points, Rare Loot Drops, Survivor’s dal, Signal Jamming Devices, and others ]
[ Additional Notice: Surveillance Drones operate in waves, covering wide areas. Once a survivor is marked, hunter bots will arrive within minutes. Shelters are advised to minimize outdoor activity and prepare counterasures. ]
[ Estimated Enemy Composition: Swarr, Hounds, Hunters, and a special one. ]
"Another event!"
"This ti... It’s about the surveillance drones."
"This is going to be tricky. I think we need to hide underground."
"But we have Signal Jamrs."
"R-right... I think Kai can produce them."
They all had mixed reactions.
For now, Kai just read the glowing ssage carefully.
"Five days until it begins... and it lasts for a full week. This is very straightforward. Drones will sweep from the skies and lands, marking survivors. If they tag us, hunters will follow."
"Hunters, huh... I’ve never seen them before. Kai, how about you?" Claire said.
" neither," Kai replied.
"I think surviving underground isn’t an issue... But what about those Hounds?" i muttered as she recalled those dog robots.
"Yeah... We have to either eliminate them while our jamr is active or just hide from them completely." Kai replied.
"At least, it’s only for seven days. We can’t move freely for that duration, but that should be fine." Claire added.
Although even simple trips outside could get them detected, it wasn’t really a big deal, considering Kai’s talent.
"But what do you think this special one noted at the end?" Claire asked as she looked at the Estimated Enemy Composition...
"Well, it’s probably the A.I. Army’s robot that can detect even if you hide underground or sothing... If not that, maybe a strong enemy that will co to us once we’re detected." Kai replied.
"Mhmm... Makes sense. It’s probably a unit that can bypass our jamr or sothing." i added.
"Alright... let’s prepare for this event. Just forget about that Angelo. They’ll be busy as well." Kai muttered.
Soon, Kai walked toward the warehouse... Inside, the shelves were stacked with supplies, but it was not enough.
He was here for an obvious reason. He needed to restock since they would be hiding from the Swarrs and Hounds...
Just like that, he activated his Talent and to take out an enhanced version of the Stealth Gift Pack.
[ Stealth Gift Pack (Enhanced) Contents: ghillie suit, enhanced night vision goggles, smoke grenade, stun grenade, and signal jamr ]
"I need more signal jamr..." Kai muttered as he began stockpiling them.
Next, Kai claid dozens of Food Gift Packs (Enhanced).
Finally, Kai summoned the Energy Gift Pack (Enhanced).
Freedom Shelter relied on solar energy, but Kai knew they couldn’t risk using panels during the event. The heat and light could give away their position.
Instead, they would depend on battery‑powered devices for light and communication.
After finishing all of this, Kai finally made up his mind.
"Surveillance Sweep, huh..." Kai muttered.
"I guess I need to build a Guild now."
Without any hesitation, he opened his System and selected the Guild Feature...
