Elf Corps Commander Feiyana approached the Elf Soldiers stationed by the assembled Magic Stone-Throwing Cannons.

"Incendiary Bullets! Maximum range! Fire!"

At Elf Corps Commander Feiyana’s command, the nearby Elf Soldiers signaled with flags. The soldiers who received the signal hurriedly placed the prepared Incendiary Bullets into the loading trays of the Magic Stone-Throwing Cannons. Thirty of the cannons roared to life at once.

The Magic Runes inscribed on the Magic Stone-Throwing Cannons flashed with light the mont they activated. The Magic Crystals inside consud so of their Magic Power, but based on the rate of consumption, it was estimated they could still be fired another thirty tis. The Magic Runes inscribed on them were for weight reduction and acceleration, which both reduced the weight of the projectiles and increased their velocity.

In the next instant, the Incendiary Bullets launched from the cannons, soaring through the air in a perfect arc.

On the opposing side, Rethof of the Elf Guard Army saw this and thought grimly, This is not good. He hastily ordered the nearby Elf Archers and Elf Mages to intercept the projectiles.

However, the Incendiary Bullets—launched from Magic Stone-Throwing Cannons enhanced with acceleration and weight-reduction runes—were simply too fast. Even though the nearby Elf Archers acted the mont they heard the order from Guard Army Commander Rethof, they were still too slow. By the ti their arrows were loosed, the Incendiary Bullets were already overhead.

The Elf Mages, having received the order, wanted to intercept them, but in the heat of the mont, they couldn’t decide which magic would be most effective. While so realized they should use Magic Shields to block the incoming projectiles, most resorted to offensive Magic Balls or Magic Arrows, attempting to counter the attack with attacks of their own. As a result, when the mages’ attacks struck the projectiles, the Incendiary Bullets broke apart in mid-air, splitting into a dozen or so smaller ones.

The raw material for these Incendiary Bullets was a special type of Magic Plant, processed from an extrely viscous tree sap. When these projectiles were struck and split apart, a small portion was intercepted, but most splintered into smaller projectiles that were even harder to stop. Having already split once or twice, the Incendiary Bullets now rained down on the residential district behind the Elf Guard Army’s wall.

These projectiles were just like the napalm from Zhang Yi’s past life. Once a drop landed on sothing, it would adhere and burn relentlessly.

In an instant, fires spread throughout the residential district of the Neutral Elf City. The blaze illuminated half of the district, making it as bright as day. The sky, not yet brightened by dawn, was still dim, with only the faintest glimr of light. Rethof, commander of the Elf Defense Army, had just been wondering if he should have the Elf Mages cast a few spells to light up the surroundings. Now, there was no need. The city behind them was already as bright as day.

When the commander of the Elf Defense Army saw this, his heart seed to stop for a mont, and he was filled with despair. He had assud that no matter how bad things got, the situation would improve as long as they could hold out until daylight. After all, they were the ones defending the city.

Who could have expected the opposing Elf Corps to play so unconventionally? They hadn’t led with a wave of suppressing arrow fire before ordering a charge on the walls. Instead, they had brought so kind of Magic Equipnt capable of hurling projectiles from an incredible distance. Even when the defenders tried to intercept them, they were powerless.

Cries for help, panicked screams, and shouts to put out the fires mingled and echoed throughout the Neutral Elf City. Many of the Elf Soldiers from the city’s ten-thousand-strong legion, who had originally rushed to provide support, were now forced by the raging fire to split off and help other elves control the blaze. Another half of the soldiers were dispatched to protect the granaries. The fire was terrifying, and it couldn’t even be put out with regular water. If the blaze destroyed the granaries while the Elf Corps besieged them from outside, where would they possibly get food for the next few months?

Rethof, the commander of the Defense Army, naturally understood the importance of the granaries. But he also knew that those defending the wall were in even greater danger at that mont. After all, if the Incendiary Bullets could fly over their heads to strike inside the city, wouldn’t hitting them be even easier?

Guard Army Commander Rethof’s face was ashen. "Quick! Gather all the Water Elent Elf Mages!"

While a considerable portion of the Defense Army’s soldiers were tied down by the disaster, scrambling to deal with the fires, Elf Corps Commander Feiyana calmly issued her second command.

"Smoke Bombs! Cover the wall! Fire!"

The mont they received the signal, the waiting Elf Soldiers loaded special Smoke Bombs into the Magic Stone-Throwing Cannons. As the bombs launched high into the air, heading straight for the city wall, the Elf Archers and Elf Mages guarding the top of the wall hesitated. They could clearly see this volley was aid directly at their position. Should we intercept them, or shouldn’t we? After all, their previous attempt to block the projectiles with offensive magic had only resulted in an even greater disaster.

Despite his nervousness, Rethof, commander of the Elf Defense Army, issued a tily command. "All Elf Mages, use tangible defensive magic! Block the projectiles!"

But this volley contained even more projectiles than the last. Back at the siege line, the Elf Soldiers were continuously loading special Smoke Bombs into the Magic Stone-Throwing Cannons. While the Elf Archers held back, afraid of making an even bigger mistake, only the Elf Mages continued to cast spells. Exploiting the defenders’ hesitation over the ammunition, the Magic Stone-Throwing Cannons—firing once every five seconds—continuously launched more special Smoke Bombs.

The Elf Mages finally managed to block the incoming projectiles, but the result was unexpected. This ti, upon hitting the tangible magical defenses, the projectiles simply fell to the foot of the wall and began to emit smoke.

The smoke was mixed with Paralyzing Pollen and Hallucinogenic Spores. As the gas billowed up, it was inhaled by the unprepared Elf Archers and soldiers. The defending soldiers began to cough uncontrollably, and the Elf Archers completely lost their aim.

Only Commander Rethof, who was exceptionally agile, and a few nearby Elf Mages managed to cast Wind Magic in ti to control the surrounding air. This was how they avoided disaster.

But what Elf Corps Commander Feiyana saw through her Magic Telescope was a scene of utter chaos; the Defense Army on the walls had descended into complete disarray.
