The great battle raging in the Moonlight Forest was not only being fought by the native Moon Elves and Zhang Yi’s forces; it was also being observed by Lin Aoxue’s party, hidden in the shadows. This war between the Elf Corps of the Elf Alliance, under Zhang Yi’s command, and the Moon Elves tugged at the hearts of countless Elves throughout the forest.

Who would win and who would lose? This question would decide not only the fate of these two great powers but also the destiny of the countless smaller Elf Tribes caught in the currents of this war.

The Moonlight Forest was by no ans small, covering nearly one-tenth of the landmass of this Small Magic Plane. It also occupied half of the plane’s western region. Therefore, this great battle naturally attracted the attention of the teachers who were watching the situation unfold from a god’s-eye view.

"Teacher Guo, look! Your student, Zhang Yi, seems to have started the final, decisive battle!"

"It looks like he wants to end this war before autumn this year! That would leave him with more than half a year to conquer the entire Moonlight Forest!"

"By then, he’ll return to his Divine Realm with nearly all the Elves of the Moonlight Forest under his command, and his power will skyrocket!"

"If this battle ends in his favor, his strength will be comparable to a second-sester senior, just half a year away from their college entrance exams!"

"If he pulls this off, his Points will definitely put him at the top of the rankings!"

"Let see how many Points this student Zhang Yi has right now."

Teacher Xu Yiweng had beco much more cheerful, thanks to his last conversation with Principal Tang Weihua. Hearing his words, Guo Aiqing, the horoom teacher of the top-ranked Class One, also shifted her gaze to the Moonlight Forest.

Over the past three-plus years in this Small Magic Plane—which was just over twenty days in the Main World’s tiline—Hong Tianyi, who had chosen to develop in the eastern part of the plane, had surged ahead and held the number one spot on the Points ranking for half a month. Countless teachers had turned their attention to him.

When the other students saw Hong Tianyi’s teoric rise, they were all spurred into action, frantically accepting and completing quests.

Only Zhang Yi, in the Moonlight Forest, was different. He would take on a quest if he could complete it conveniently, but he wouldn’t go to great lengths for one otherwise. Seeing Zhang Yi’s unusual behavior, many teachers were skeptical about whether he could even make it into the top four for the final exam this ti.

It wasn’t that Zhang Yi hadn’t checked the rankings and seen Hong Tianyi’s na firmly planted at the top. He just had his own reasons for not frantically accepting all those minor quests like the other students.

Quests in the Moonlight Forest, like clearing out Magical Beast lairs or scouting for special mineral deposits, were all ti-consuming and laborious. Completing them required a significant upfront investnt of both resources and ti. In contrast, if he first completed the main quest and beca the supre power in the entire Moonlight Forest, completing those other quests later would be a piece of cake.

He wouldn’t even need the Clan from his Divine Realm to personally intervene. He would only need to post a quest in the Elf Alliance with a reward attached, and Elves eager to join would complete it with their full effort.

Therefore, it wasn’t that Zhang Yi refused to take on those minor quests. Instead, after careful calculation, he had determined that completing the quest to defeat the Moon Elves and beco the supre power in the Moonlight Forest was far more profitable.

Once that’s done, I’ll get 3,000 Points! Adding that to the Points from my previous quests will be enough to surpass Hong Tianyi in one fell swoop and beco the new number one on the rankings!

That was why Zhang Yi hadn’t thrown himself into those minor quests. That would undoubtedly be "picking up the sesa seeds only to lose the waterlon"—not worth the trade-off.

Other teachers had also guessed at Zhang Yi’s plan, but whether or not it would succeed was another matter entirely. That was why most of their attention was focused on the teorically rising Hong Tianyi. After all, he was currently number one.

But after observing the battle in the Moonlight Forest for a while, Teacher Guo Aiqing had a good grasp of the situation.

With Zhang Yi’s current strength, taking this Moon Elf Main City shouldn’t be too difficult. The difficult part is the Moon God he might face after conquering it!

There was also a quest to kill the Moon God. Although it wasn’t ranked as high as the quests to kill the Beast God, the God of the Sea, or the Elf God, it wasn’t far down the list either.

7. Kill the Moon God, receive 5,400 quest Points.

Zhang Yi had conveniently accepted this quest right after starting his assault on the Moon Elf Main City, and his horoom teacher, Guo Aiqing, had seen it. Based on her understanding of Zhang Yi, her class monitor, she knew he was not a reckless person.

So, if Zhang Yi dared to accept this quest, he must have so trick up his sleeve.

Once Guo Aiqing ca to this realization, she stopped worrying about Zhang Yi. However, she didn’t look away. Instead, she kept her attention focused on him. She was also very curious to see just what kind of trump card Zhang Yi possessed that gave him so much confidence—enough to kill the Moon God in a single blow.

Zhang Yi had no idea that his horoom teacher had turned her attention back to him. He had more important things to deal with at the mont. From the Moon Elf Main City across the field, the Moon Elves’ ace cavalry—the Shadow Claw—had finally appeared.

During the brief lull while the Magic Stone-Throwing Cannons were reloading between the third and fourth volleys, the Moon Elf Prince roared from the city walls:

"For the glory of the Moon Elves!"

"For the great Moon God!"

"Now, Shadow Claw, charge!"

As Moon Elf Prince Sukaman’s roar echoed, the gates of the Moon Elf Main City swung open simultaneously.

WHOOSH—!

A torrent of cavalry, spearheaded by female Moon Elves riding black panthers, surged forward like an arrow loosed from a taut bowstring. The mont they cleared the gates, the black panthers beneath them perfectly showcased their advantage in speed, accelerating to their top velocity and streaking like black lightning straight for the Elf Corps’ operating Magic Equipnt.

Seeing this, Dwarf Leader Copperbeard Ironhamr couldn’t help but laugh heartily from within his tent.

"They’re finally here! The Moon Elf cavalry corps!"

"I’ve been waiting so long, my bones are getting stiff!"

The Dwarf Leader, Copperbeard Ironhamr, shook his limbs, and his body let out a series of loud CRACKS
