"Wait a minute, what cri did I commit to deserve punishnt in Eternal Purgatory? You have to explain clearly so I can understand what law I broke, right?"
Lu Wenwu widened his eyes and persistently pursued the question, showing no sign of letting the matter rest.
"When I was in the Human World, I heard that each of the Ten Hall Yama in the Underworld is like a mirror, impartial and fair. Hey, Assistant Yama, are you trying to deceive ?"
The Yama’s Assistant’s face turned red as he argued back, "Don’t you dare falsely accuse a ghost! Any soul in the Underworld must not disrespect Lord Yama, and when have I ever tried to deceive you!"
Lu Wenwu didn’t say a word, just crossed his arms and stared directly at him.
The two of them shared a strange stare-down for a full five seconds.
Suddenly, the Yama’s Assistant and the Intern Judge’s expressions changed dramatically, filled with utter disbelief as they looked at Lu Wenwu.
They suddenly realized.
This dude isn’t dead!
This is a living person!
The laws of the Underworld are made to restrict ghosts and souls, and none of them actually restrict living people.
And this isn’t even within the jurisdiction of the Underworld!
King Qin Guang himself hasn’t even spoken, so why are the two of them ddling in unnecessary affairs here!
The expressions on the surrounding Yin Soldiers and Ghost ssengers imdiately turned incredibly colorful, and the atmosphere in the hall beca rather awkward.
King Qin Guang maintained his previous unchanged, neutral expression.
His eyes slightly shifted to the side as he said calmly, "The Underworld’s Yin ssengers must uphold the law impartially. The Underworld has been under reform for decades now. Do you still think it’s the ti where you could easily engage in corruption, embezzlent, and turn black into white?"
As soon as these words were spoken, the faces of the two Yin ssengers turned ghostly pale, and their soul bodies even showed signs of instability.
"A hundred days in Tongue Pulling Hell, and if it happens again, you’ll take off your official robes and report to the Ten Halls." The Venerable God seated in the center of the Underworld declared the punishnt casually.
"Reporting to the Ten Halls ans that King of Reincarnation will send them to reincarnate."
"All previous rits and accumulations would be nullified, and the chance of becoming a Yin Spirit would be forfeited."
The two Yin ssengers broke out in cold sweat, fearfully knelt, and repeatedly prostrated themselves, calling the lord rciful.
Soon after, black spatial teleportation light flashed across them, and with a quick step, they vanished without a trace.
After casually handling the two Yin ssengers, King Qin Guang turned his gaze back to Lu Wenwu, his indifferent eyes revealing a hint of barely noticeable curiosity.
A mortal able to co to the Underworld with his physical body...
When was the last ti this happened?
It must have been that audacious monkey back then.
King Qin Guang thought to himself and slightly nodded towards Lu Wenwu.
Imdiately, a Yama’s Assistant took down a device resembling a thermoter gun from the high platform on the right and scanned it across Lu Wenwu’s forehead.
"Beep... beep... beep..."
The familiar electronic synthetic voice kept prompting, indicating that the scanning process was ongoing.
Unable to resist, Lu Wenwu asked, "What are we doing now? I read in books that isn’t Lord Qin Guang supposed to interrogate or sothing?"
"Oh, the interrogation process you ntioned is too cumberso. There are too many souls to handle over the past century, we can’t keep up. After the reforms in the Underworld, this inefficient thod has been phased out."
The Yama’s Assistant, unexpectedly easygoing, explained this as part of the detection process.
"Now, when souls arrive here, they directly go to the Mirror of Evil. It can display your life’s past, and then Lord Qin Guang can ask a few questions accordingly, then you may proceed to the Second Hall or the Ten Halls."
"Hold on, the third-generation Cloud Mirror of Evil system developed by the Ghost Departnt is slightly slower in response compared to physical detection, it takes about ten seconds, please wait patiently in place."
"All of one’s life past?" Lu Wenwu thought for a mont, then his expression changed drastically, "Wait, won’t that include the browsing history I’ve seen..."
The Yama’s Assistant clearly knew what that was about and nodded regretfully.
Lu Wenwu imdiately declared righteously, "Don’t scan! Stop the scan! I admit to whatever evil! Let’s not complicate things, just skip to the Fourth Hall to Wuguan Wang for the Karma Scale!"
Of course, stopping was not an option, nor was fast-forwarding.
Lu Wenwu suddenly realized that monts ago, it seed like King Qin Guang might have smiled discreetly?
Was it just an illusion?
"Lord Yama, detection completed," the Yama’s Assistant said respectfully.
"Mm."
King Qin Guang responded blandly.
With a lift of his finger, a blue-bound book automatically flew up, opened up and down like a laptop, and displayed itself in front of him.
Evidently, this was also a part of the Mirror of Evil’s cloud system.
So this was the notebook!
"Invincible Tyrannosaurus War God..." King Qin Guang lightly recited the na, "Perhaps, your wish can be fulfilled."
"Fulfill what?" Lu Wenwu was at a loss.
King Qin Guang did not explain, only the sound of pen writing "shashasha" ca from the notebook on the blue-bound book.
Then a flash of light occurred, and Lu Wenwu found himself in a large room resembling a courtroom.
Directly across from him, behind the judging bench, stood ten figures with varying dispositions, each possessing formidable presence. They were, indeed, the Ten Hall Yama!
Additionally, four seated figures were positioned on a slightly lower second tier, facing each other in pairs on either side.
Who else could they be if not the legendary Four Great Judges of the Underworld?
Nurous ferocious-looking Ghost ssengers and Yin Soldiers lined both sides, led by a team of Black and White Impermanence and a team of Oxhead and Horseface. The weapons they held—swords, spears, and halberds—all glimred coldly, exuding an ominous aura.
