In fact, Fang Heng and Charlene had already sensed the escaping Seed of Ouroboros deep within the grotto.
Fang Heng glanced into the depths of the cave and took a step forward.
The interior of the cave was relatively spacious, but cold and damp, filled with the sll of mold.
Upon closer inspection, so of the uneven stone blocks along the walls were covered in sli with a purple-grayish glow.
The two of them said nothing, just quietly moving forward along the passage, their footsteps barely audible.
"Whoosh! Whoosh whoosh!!"
Suddenly, two alien beings leapt out from behind a protruding black rock, raising their short blades to stab at Fang Heng.
It was a stealth-type special skill.
The hidden alien guards, concealed in the darkness, launched a surprise attack on Fang Heng and Charlene.
Fang Heng curled his lips slightly, coldly glancing at the two aliens. His perception had already locked onto them.
The aliens' attack was swift and precise, reaching the level of elite creatures in advanced gas.
But they were still just elite-level.
Hmm?
Fang Heng suddenly noticed sothing as he stared into the eyes of the two aliens.
There was a hint of iridescence in their eyes.
Illusion?
Charlene had already acted ahead of ti.
Charlene had also used her ntal power to firmly lock onto the two aliens.
The mont the two aliens pierced the darkness with their blades, they lost control of their bodies, frozen in place by Charlene's ntal manipulation.
Fang Heng glanced at Charlene.
It seed to be a ntal control-type skill.
Moreover, Charlene had used her skill without revealing even the slightest ripple of ntal energy!
What a terrifying woman.
Even though his psychic abilities had reached the grandmaster level, he still couldn't discern Charlene's true strength.
Fang Heng speculated that Charlene was at least a demigod-level psychic.
Thinking about it, Charlene was still cultivating with the help of the Hila virus inside her body, and her strength had not yet reached its peak.
She was really tough on herself...
Fang Heng couldn't help but marvel inwardly.
"Bang! Bang!!"
The two aliens, now under ntal control, were slamd heavily against the walls, and after falling to the ground, they imdiately fainted.
Charlene nodded calmly and said, "They've been controlled by so sort of hypnosis or ntal suggestion."
"Mm."
Fang Heng nodded in agreent.
The disorientation he saw in the two aliens' eyes earlier must have been so sort of ntal control ability.
"Chi, chi chi..."
Hmm?
Fang Heng looked back at the fallen aliens.
From the ground of the grotto, faint purple sli began to appear, slowly spreading and enveloping the unconscious aliens, dissolving and absorbing them at a visible speed.
"Ability to devour and absorb life forms. This thod of absorption seems highly efficient, and considering the ntal hypnosis ability we just saw..."
Charlene furrowed her brows and muttered to herself, "Is this a special fusion entity of the Seed of Ouroboros? But it's strange. From the clues I've tracked, the Seed of Ouroboros theoretically cannot directly fuse with magical abilities..."
Fang Heng said, "You're mistaken. From my contact with Ouroboros recently, I can tell that the ordinary Ouroboros swarm cannot inherit or fuse with magical and psychic abilities. But the Seed of Ouroboros is different—it can fuse with any kind of power without limitation."
"I see..."
As they continued deeper into the cave, the purple-grayish sli on the walls and rocks beca more abundant.
The sli seed almost alive; whenever Fang Heng and Charlene got closer, it slowly absorbed into the surrounding walls.
They walked further down the cave, and soon, faint purple mist began to appear.
In the deeper parts of the cave, a thin layer of purple mist shrouded the surroundings.
Fang Heng's pupils flashed briefly.
Charlene was unaffected and walked straight into the faint purple mist.
"Looks like it's a combination of ntal control and so kind of physical hypnosis effect, like a hallucinatory dust," Charlene observed before nodding. "This way, even ordinary swarms could have a psychic illusion effect. Quite rare."
"Mm, it doesn't seem like a natural fusion, more like it's been artificially controlled..."
"Swoosh! Swoosh!!!"
As they were speaking, tiny worms suddenly leapt out from the sli attached to the walls, rushing towards Fang Heng and Charlene.
"Bang! Bang! Bang!!!"
The purple worms exploded mid-air before they could reach the two, landing on the ground and forming clumps of purple sli.
Hmm?
After the worms exploded, the sli on the ground quickly reford into the shape of tiny worms again, gathering at a rapid speed.
It was a self-regeneration ability, similar to the original devouring body?
Quite a variety of tricks!
Fang Heng's mind stirred as he decided to observe further.
"Whoosh! Whoosh!!!"
The sli suddenly ignited in purple flas, quickly turning to ash under the intense heat.
Fang Heng glanced at Charlene.
Impressive, a ntal fire!
Could higher-level psychic abilities directly achieve this?
"Soone's coming."
Charlene looked towards another passage on the right side of the grotto, furrowing her brows and saying, "The aura is familiar. It's like Ery, the one who disappeared."
"Interesting. Looks like the Federation's judgnt was correct. Let's hide and observe the situation."
Fang Heng said as he stepped forward, entering the secondary space projection.
Charlene, sowhat puzzled as to why Fang Heng chose to observe rather than resolve the situation quickly, nonetheless complied and stepped back. A spiritual barrier ford around her body.
Outside the barrier, their vision was blocked, and neither could sense Charlene's aura.
Soon, on the other side of the passage.
Ery, followed by more than twenty alien beings, appeared before Fang Heng and Charlene.
Ery didn't notice anything unusual and continued forward along the passage.
Many of the aliens following Ery were carrying heavy boxes.
Fang Heng and Charlene silently followed behind Ery.
They continued deeper into the cave until they arrived at a more spacious cavern, where Ery stopped.
The entire cavern was filled with thick purple mist.
In the mist, a large purple cocoon, attached to the corner of the rock wall, was continually shrinking, expanding, twisting, and fusing, releasing large amounts of mist.
Fang Heng squinted his eyes.
That thing!
The Seed of Ouroboros!
The fleshy cocoon was massive, gathered in a large chunk in the corner of the rock wall.
Ery looked at the purple cocoon, a glint of excitent flashing in his eyes. He licked his lips and said, "Why hasn't it started yet? What are we waiting for?"
The alien patriarch, Malcolm, who stood behind Ery, nodded respectfully and gestured with his hand.
A group of aliens moved forward, placing the heavy boxes they had carried beside the purple cocoon of the Seed of Ouroboros.
