Fang Heng saw several changes in Ery’s expression and sneered inwardly. He curled his lips and said, "Alright then, if you’re not going to speak, I’ll be on my way. I still need to report back. If I delay too long, the Federation will get suspicious. You can stay here and keep watching it. I’ll co back after I handle the situation."
Ery observed Fang Heng’s behavior and silently pondered.
He couldn’t directly control the Seed of Ouroboros or Fang Heng’s actions. What he could do was rely exert influence.
Just like with those alien races.
"Wait!"
Ery called out to Fang Heng and said, "Fang Heng, I rember you can control summoned creatures to fight. Could you leave so summoned creatures here to help us?"
Fang Heng looked at Ery and nodded, "Sure. What do you need them to do?"
It worked!
Ery felt a jolt of excitent.
The Federation would eventually discover his presence. With the current developnt speed of the Seed of Ouroboros, there was no way it would reach its complete form before the Federation arrived.
His only hope now was Fang Heng!
"The Seed of Ouroboros needs a large supply of energy to enter the next tier, including devouring various native creatures of this world, energy bodies, and we also need the world-specific purple crystals. Plundering these materials can help the Seed of Ouroboros evolve as quickly as possible."
Ery, feeling imnse pressure and backed into a corner by the Federation, laid out all the problems he faced in the hope of gaining Fang Heng’s help.
"And the Federation—we absolutely cannot let them discover the location of the Seed of Ouroboros’s flesh cocoon. With their current strength, there’s no way we can protect it."
Fang Heng coldly swept a glance at Ery and nodded, "Leave the Federation to . You do your part. Help the Seed of Ouroboros complete its fusion as soon as possible. Understood?"
Ery felt as if he had gone from hell to heaven upon hearing Fang Heng’s response.
There was hope!
Fang Heng had appeared out of nowhere, his identity unclear, but his strength was formidable.
Not to ntion his terrifying summoned creatures!
Ery steadied his emotions and nodded, "Alright, I’ll take care of things here."
"And keep an eye on your alien group. Don’t let them get in my way."
With that, Fang Heng turned and left the cavern.
Outside the cavern, Charlene revealed herself behind Fang Heng.
"This is risky, Fang Heng."
"I know. I’ve prepared for both outcos. If the Western District Federation is willing to give us the thod to break the ’lock,’ then these other tactics won’t be necessary."
Fang Heng turned to look at Charlene and said, "Wanna bet? Even if we gather enough Black Fog crystals, the Federation still won’t easily help us break the ’lock.’"
Charlene remained silent for a mont, tacitly agreeing to Fang Heng’s plan.
...
Star Map Control Center.
Fang Heng and Charlene returned the way they ca through the black prism, arriving back in the Black Fog Core Domain.
Augustine stood in the hall with a group of Federation soldiers. Seeing the two return, he asked, "So? Did you find any clues?"
Fang Heng shook his head.
"The Seed of Ouroboros is very unique. My perception can’t fully track it right now. I’ll have to search through each world one by one."
"You’ve worked hard."
Augustine had originally placed great hope in Fang Heng, but now his expression dimd. He nodded and said, "Thank you. If you find any clues, please let us know imdiately. The Federation will cooperate at once."
"Mm, I will."
Fang Heng looked around the hall.
The experts previously invited by Augustine had already entered various Black Fog Gas to investigate. Only the Federation soldiers in the sealed-off domain remained in the hall.
Fang Heng asked, "Looks like I’m not allowed to leave now?"
"The lounge is upstairs. Sorry, due to the special nature of this mission, you should remain within this underground secret domain until the mission is complete."
"But I have other matters to handle."
Fang Heng shrugged and continued, "I spoke with Instructor Benny earlier. Last ti, we successfully destroyed an SS-level insect nest, completely wiping out traces of the Seed of Ouroboros from that target world. The Federation military and I earned a large number of contribution points from that mission. These points should be enough to exchange for part of the Black Fog Core to obtain cultivation tools for the ’lock.’"
Beside him, Charlene added in a firm tone, "Benny promised that after the mission, he’d initiate the next tier of ’lock’ cultivation."
Augustine looked troubled. He waved his hand and said, "Please be patient, both of you. I’ve already discussed this with Instructor Benny."
"The Black Fog Core promised to you is already in the process of being procured. But due to the current ergency, and given that you’re on a special mission, as well as the ti it takes to purchase the core and simulate the training ground..."
As Fang Heng listened to all of Augustine’s excuses, he glanced sideways at Charlene and gave her a aningful look.
See? What did I tell you?
Charlene’s expression darkened slightly, then quickly returned to normal.
Fang Heng noticed the change in her expression and sighed inwardly.
He really wanted to ask her how many things she had done for the Western District Federation during this ti, and how much they had taken advantage of her.
Fine, I helped you get it back double.
He gave Charlene a look that said, "Leave it to ."
"Fang Heng, for now, it’s best to stay here," said Captain Zoran as he walked over to advise him. "I’ll keep an eye on the training progress. If there’s any news, I’ll inform you imdiately."
"Alright. We’ll keep tracking the missing Seed of Ouroboros. As for the Black Fog Core, I hope you’ll keep working on it."
"We’ll do our best."
Behind Augustine, a few senior Federation council mbers murmured among themselves. One of them stepped forward, looked at Fang Heng and Charlene, and nodded, "There’s one more thing we need your help with."
Fang Heng was already losing patience. He turned and asked, "What is it?"
"It’s about ’lock’ cultivation. Redeeming the Black Fog Core requires a large amount of contribution points. The Federation’s resources are tight. We still need a substantial number of contribution points. As mbers of the Spawns, you both should have received so rewards..."
"There’s one more thing—we hope the two of you could temporarily lend your contribution points to us. After this crisis, we’ll fully repay the loan and provide additional compensation..."
Lend?
Heh! Sounds nice when you say it.
Fang Heng sneered inwardly and said, "Alright then. I hope you can keep your word."
