"Do you rember our agreent? The Jealousy demonic seed isn’t dead yet, and you all already want to fight amongst yourselves?"
The other demonic seeds imdiately stopped and turned their attention toward Jing Ge’er.
One of them stared at Jing Ge’er and said in a deep voice, "Jing Ge’er, what do you an by this? Are you trying to use the Demon Core to restrain us?"
"All of you know how important the Demon Core is. Everyone wants its power to enhance themselves as much as possible."
Jing Ge’er swept his gaze across the crowd, paused, and said loudly, "But right now, Jealousy hasn’t been eliminated. I don’t want us to fight amongst ourselves first and let Jealousy benefit in the end."
Demonic seeds were all untad by nature and didn’t accept Jing Ge’er’s reasoning.
"Hmph, easy for you to say. Are you trying to trick us with human rhetoric?"
"With the Demon Core in your hands, of course you can say whatever you like. Once we take down the Tongues of Jealousy, Essekelina, you’ll be the one reaping the benefits and using the Demon Core to control us."
Jing Ge’er said, "The Demon Core will stay here for now. We’ll distribute it after we’ve dealt with the Seed of Jealousy."
"And how can we trust what you say? Who’s willing to believe you?"
"That’s right, Jing Ge’er. Why should you be the one to guard the Demon Core? I don’t trust anyone but myself."
A gaunt old man even sneered and said, "In my opinion, since the Demon Core is already in hand, why not fight right now? Let strength decide—whoever absorbs the Demon Core gets to keep it. That way we might stand a better chance against Essekelina."
Jing Ge’er said coldly, "It’s not that I disagree. You’ve all seen it—the Demon Core is still wrapped in a defensive layer. To truly obtain it, we’ll need ti to wear it down..."
"Heh, you’re too weak, so of course you need ti. Let do it—"
As the argunt heated up, Zhuang Yufei suddenly said in a low voice, "Everyone, stop arguing! She’s here!"
The mont she spoke, the others also sensed a powerful demonic seed aura rapidly approaching. They imdiately fell silent and turned toward the cavern entrance.
"Boom!!!"
A wave of hellish energy surged into the cavern, followed by Essekelina bursting in.
"It’s you!"
Though she had already had a premonition, the mont Essekelina saw the group of demonic seeds, uncontrollable rage surged up from within.
"Good! Very good! Since you’ve all co to , that saves the trouble of hunting you down! Today, none of you will leave alive!"
Whoosh!
Essekelina let out a cold laugh and dashed directly at one of the demonic seeds.
"Take her down first!"
The demonic seeds suppressed their inner grudges and temporarily joined forces to fight Essekelina.
With both old and new grudges at play, they all attacked with fury.
Jing Ge’er’s group no longer needed to worry about the Demon Core and also had the advantage in numbers. Essekelina, on the other hand, had suffered so losses in her previous battle with Fang Heng and was still affected by the negative effects of the demon binding chain, quickly falling into a disadvantage.
But the demonic seeds were not united.
Once they gained the upper hand, many consciously slowed down their attacks, starting to weigh pros and cons.
Everyone knew that even if they dealt with Essekelina, they would still need to fight for the Demon Core afterward.
Only a fool would waste strength at a ti like this!
Soon, fewer and fewer people were putting in full effort. Most began conserving strength, which instead gave Essekelina a chance to recover.
anwhile, on the 28th level of Hell—
After leaving the cavern, Fang Heng didn’t imdiately pursue Essekelina. Instead, he turned and quickly entered a hidden cavern on the 28th floor.
This bait plan had cost him. His sacred study level was completely drained, now reduced to only Level 1.
Fortunately, he managed to preserve his Great Sage bloodline level.
Also, his attributes ca from a combination of academic skills, so the weakening of a single sacred study didn’t greatly impact his overall combat strength.
That was why Fang Heng dared to act as bait.
If it had been another Great Sage from the Holy Realm, after being drained by Essekelina, their combat power might have been reduced to less than 1% of their peak.
"Pa!"
Fang Heng lightly tapped the ground with his toe and slipped into the cave ahead.
At the center of the cave stood a large magic array that had just been completed not long ago.
Fang Heng quickly stepped into the center of the magic array. The array rapidly activated in his right eye, and his ntal strength poured into it through his legs.
"Chi! Chi chi chi..."
The magic array glowed with a soft green light as it was infused with ntal energy.
A mont later, as the array continued operating, vines of Abe Akaya began to spread from the center, quickly covering the cave and the surrounding area.
Done!
"Abe Akaya, follow ."
Fang Heng ceased his ntal control and calmly left the cave, quickly heading toward the 29th layer of Hell where Essekelina was.
...
Soon, Fang Heng arrived at the 29th layer of Hell and followed his senses toward the magma area where his magical pet, Echidna, was.
As he neared the magma zone, sensing the shockwaves of battle, Fang Heng slowed down and hid at a distance, carefully observing.
Essekelina had already returned a step earlier.
But unfortunately for her, she was too late—his magical pet Echidna was already dead.
Just as Fang Heng had predicted, Essekelina was now entangled in battle with the demonic seeds.
The most difficult part of his plan had already been completed.
Now, he needed to let them fight like the snipe and the clam so he could reap the benefits.
But from what he saw, Essekelina seed to be gaining the upper hand?
Fang Heng narrowed his eyes slightly, observing everyone’s movents, and imdiately understood everything.
Good grief.
These demonic seeds were incredibly cunning. Though they appeared to be doing their best to fight Essekelina and wear her down, in reality, their positions and attention were subtly focused on the Demon Core in the rear.
Essekelina also wanted to seize the Demon Core to control the others, but the demonic seeds were well aware of its importance. If she tried to approach it, they would imdiately do everything they could to stop her.
Both sides were maintaining a delicate balance.
Fang Heng concealed his aura and observed the battlefield from afar, thinking to himself.
The demon binding chain could theoretically last over half a month, but its effects would weaken over ti. If the stalemate continued, the situation might change.
It seed he wouldn’t be able to play the fisherman after all.
He had to find a way to resolve the problem quickly.
Fang Heng’s gaze focused on the Demon Core, which was rapidly rotating around a stone pillar.
Looking closely, he saw that the Demon Core was surrounded by a dark protective layer.
The shockwaves from the external battle did not affect it.
The demonic seeds had yet to make a move on the Demon Core, most likely because of that protective barrier.
