"Gentlen, I believe we are in big trouble."
The Giant Demon in the main seat spoke gravely after the eight High Tier Giant Demons had gathered in the conference room.
Hearing this news, all the Giant Demons present were utterly astonished.
"Gone? All of them, overnight?"
"My Lord, are you sure you’re not joking with us?"
"Copper Hamr City is the largest producer of Airships and source of Magic Crystals among our Southern Cities."
"With the Power they wielded, you’re saying they’re all gone? It’s not like a large number of powerful natives could have just appeared on the continent, right? This joke isn’t funny at all."
One Giant Demon was utterly aghast, his expression a mixture of disbelief and incredulity.
The Giant Demon in the main seat didn’t want to waste any more words.
He imdiately took out a crystal ball.
The next mont, after he caressed it with his hand, a projected image instantly appeared.
In the image, Copper Hamr City was still Copper Hamr City.
The city walls were intact, and all the buildings within were almost undamaged.
There were no signs of battle, yet not a single person remained.
The entire city was as quiet as a ghost town.
At the sa ti, as the image shifted, it showed that in Copper Hamr City’s Airship Factory, many Magic Items and pieces of equipnt had either vanished or been destroyed.
As for the eighteen Mage Towers surrounding Copper Hamr City, without exception, they had all collapsed into ruins.
No signs of battle, and no one in the entire city.
One might argue that Copper Hamr City had received secret orders and evacuated everyone.
But with the Airship Factory and Mage Towers also destroyed, sothing was very wrong.
Copper Hamr City was in an excellent location with a high concentration of regional Magic Power.
Even if the Giant Demon high command had issued an order, they would never abandon this area.
So, it didn’t take much to conclude that Copper Hamr City must have encountered an irresistible Power and been wiped out by an unknown, powerful enemy in an instant, or at least in a very short ti.
Seeing such an image, the eight High Tier Giant Demons in the conference room all fell silent.
"Copper Hamr City lost contact eleven days ago."
"And the caravan we sent to transport supplies lost contact five days ago."
"Adding the days we’ve spent sending people to investigate... given Copper Hamr City’s current state, I think it’s highly likely our unknown enemy is still monitoring the surrounding area."
A Giant Demon spoke gravely.
"My Lord, you sent out the investigation team. I imagine you must have discovered sothing?"
"Was it the Human Race or so other kind of Demon? Do you have any leads?"
Another Giant Demon chid in with a solemn expression.
The Giant Demon City Lord then spoke gravely.
"Currently, based on the tracks around Copper Hamr City, the possibility of Human Professionals being involved is low. It looks more like a siege by a large number of Demons."
"But the Demons only left extensive tracks of activity outside the city; there were absolutely no signs of fighting inside. This is indisputable."
"However, if we assu so incredibly powerful Demon was responsible for what happened in Copper Hamr City, how do we explain the destruction of the Airship Factory and the Mage Towers?"
"Not to ntion, there’s no wreckage from fallen or destroyed Airships inside Copper Hamr City!"
"Therefore, this matter is full of suspicious points."
"In addition, the investigation team also discovered so previously unseen Demons appearing from ti to ti in the Earth Realm around Copper Hamr City."
"Among them were many Demons comparable to Low Tier Professionals."
"It is truly bizarre."
While the Giant Demon City Lord analyzed the situation, the other seven Giant Demons were also mulling over the information.
"The Demons on the continent’s surface... even if so are powerful, they are unorganized and have low intelligence. Could they really do sothing like this?"
"Besides, speaking of Demons, in our part of the Earth Realm, the Mist Forest is probably the only place with many of them. But our previous investigations showed that most of the Demons in the Mist Forest are very weak. They shouldn’t be capable of this, right?"
"Furthermore, from what we’ve discovered, so of the Human Race survivor settlents we previously left alone as training grounds have also been scattered. What kind of Demon or Human Race could accomplish this?"
"Honestly, given the current situation, I think this could only happen if an Underground City has reawakened, with a powerful Demon leading other Demons to the surface."
"Or perhaps, a native Deity has already reawakened in this world?"
"But how is that possible? Our clan has almost completely destroyed the Human Race’s faith. Even if so remnants exist overseas, how could that small population revive a Deity? It’s completely unreasonable."
A Giant Demon said with a grave expression, prompting another to speak up.
"Deities, an reawakened Underground City... such things are absolutely impossible."
"So, ruling out those two possibilities, the only thing I can think of is that a Saint Tier Human Professional from overseas has secretly returned to the continent."
"Perhaps they used the power of Spirit, paid a great price to enhance the offensive capabilities of their Spiritual energy, and then launched a surprise attack on Copper Hamr City with powers like illusions and dreams. That might be the only way to achieve this."
"As for the lack of any remaining corpses of our kin or human slaves in Copper Hamr City, I think it’s highly likely they were destroyed by other ans. As for the human slaves, if he intended to protect and relocate them, then I believe we should be able to track them down quickly if we intensify our investigation."
"Of course, no matter what, this is definitely not sothing a High Tier Professional could accomplish."
"We should inform the Lord Governor. This is a matter only he can resolve. Before that, I think all we can do is strengthen our defenses."
The Giant Demon City Lord looked at the two of them and nodded slightly.
"I’ve naturally considered everything you’ve thought of."
"I already relayed the news about Copper Hamr City to the Lord Governor earlier today, but his only reply was that he understood, and nothing more."
"I suspect the Lord Governor might not co to investigate this matter imdiately. After all, I’ve heard a massive hunt is being prepared overseas, and it seems the Lord Governor has already gone on campaign with the army."
"Therefore, I’m also considering whether this incident was caused by that very reason."
Hearing this, the eyes of the other Giant Demons lit up.
"That’s a real possibility! Perhaps the humans overseas caught wind of the Lord Governor’s movents, so they sent a powerful Professional to sneak back to the continent and create this horrific incident in Copper Hamr City to divert his attention."
"Is that so? But how do you explain those unknown Demons? They can’t have just appeared out of thin air, can they?"
"Demons? The Mist Forest has them. The Human Race has existed in this world for countless ages, after all. The native Deities must have bestowed items that can command Demons. It’s just a diversion."
"As for the unseen Demons, couldn’t they be summoned by powerful items like Demigod Artifacts or Holy Artifacts? Don’t forget, in the realm of Deities, anything is possible."
"..."
The Giant Demons argued for a long ti before the Giant Demon City Lord finally made a decision.
"Whether it was humans from overseas sneaking in or so other situation we’re unaware of."
"In any case, our Farm City is also at great risk of being attacked. So, next, I think we need to activate the city’s defensive Mage Towers!"
"We absolutely cannot let what happened to Copper Hamr City happen to us. Don’t be stingy with the Magic Crystals. What do you all think?"
With their own safety on the line, what was there to argue about?
All the High Tier Giant Demons agreed to activate the defensive Magic Barrier until the Giant Governor replied, or even personally sent soone to resolve the matter.
And so, after the council dispersed, the eight Mage Towers surrounding the Giant Demon City suddenly lit up with intense ripples of Magic Power.
The ripples spread out, quickly enveloping the entire city.
And just as the Giant Demons activated their Magic Barrier, that very evening, an army of Demon Beasts led by more than ten High Tier Magical Beasts appeared thirty kiloters away from the Giant Demon Farm City.
The High Tier Magical Beasts advanced slowly.
Behind them, an imnse host of over three hundred Middle Tier Magical Beasts and more than a thousand Low Tier Magical Beasts followed.
They let out a trendous roar, and amidst the constant trembling of the ground, they quickly halted five kiloters away from the Giant Demon City.
Each High Tier Magical Beast was like a small hill, their massive bodies gazing at the Giant Demon City with malice.
At this mont, inside the Giant Demon City, the High Tier Giant Demons had all arrived on the city walls, while a large number of Giant Demon soldiers had already taken their positions at the Magic Crystal Cannons set up along the ramparts.
