After upgrading his skills in the hotel, Wang Zhifan considered this journey to Jinlin City a success. Not only had he made a significant amount of money, taking the first step towards Fu’s lifestyle, but he also enhanced his strength, paving the way for future cultivation of the Great Dream Saber Scripture.
It was now six in the evening. Though the sky in Jinlin City was not yet completely dark, nightfall was imminent. Wang Zhifan decided to spend the night in the hotel and return to Dongjiang City the next day.
"Speaking of which, Mr. Han, the so-called coal boss’s secretary, arranged for to et him in a building tomorrow afternoon to complete a transaction. Should I really go? It feels like a waste of ti... Maybe I should speed things up and see."
Before beginning his cultivation in the hotel, Wang Zhifan recalled the suspicious-sounding purchase post from a coal boss he saw on the forum in the morning. Initially, he didn’t plan to pay attention to such scams, but since he was already in Jinlin City, where the supposed scamr was based, investigating the situation sounded interesting to him. However, he preferred not to wait until the next afternoon, aiming to resolve it by morning at the latest.
Thus, Wang Zhifan took out his phone and initiated contact with the coal boss’s secretary, Mr. Han, sending him a ssage via a communication app.
Wang: "Mr. Han, I have arrived at Jinlin City. Is Mr. Huang available to et tomorrow morning? I’d like to complete our 4.9 million rare-level long saber transaction early."
After ssaging Mr. Han, Wang Zhifan set his phone aside and prepared to begin cultivating the Great Dream Saber Scripture. However, the other’s response was quicker than he expected, as his phone chid with a new ssage before he could start his practice.
Mr. Han: "I’m pleased to inform you that the boss is available to et you tonight. However, he’s currently outside Jinlin City on a business survey in the suburbs. If you wish to expedite the transaction, please bring your equipnt to this address..."
As Wang Zhifan expected, the person he suspected to be a scamr revealed a typical trait—easily altering a previous agreent, trying to lure him to a remote location for the eting.
In the past, Wang Zhifan wouldn’t have attended such a eting, given the evident risk of falling into a trap, futile and unrewarding.
But Wang Zhifan had no such worries now. With his newly acquired Epic Ice Source Power, he was undoubtedly powerful, fully aware that few in the world could challenge him. Low-level scamrs like these were certainly no match for him.
"This address... it’s about an hour’s cab ride... maybe I should just go and see what’s up, a little exploration won’t hurt."
When one’s strength reaches a certain level, their actions beco increasingly unrestrained. Driven by curiosity, Wang Zhifan quickly left the hotel, took a taxi to the location specified by Mr. Han, aiming to grasp the slim chance of a successful transaction, thus advancing further on his path to becoming like Fu.
The cab ride was uneventful. Wang Zhifan chatted a bit with the taxi driver and browsed the player forum on his phone. About an hour later, he got off the cab, donned a mask and sunglasses, and headed alone to the eting spot.
It was not too late, not even eight in the evening, when Wang Zhifan arrived at a sowhat rundown suburban factory entrance. The large iron gates of the factory were shut, and the interior was dark and silent, with the adjacent guard post also shrouded in darkness and unstaffed.
"Are they ssing with , leaving hanging?"
Judging by the situation, he felt his ti might be wasted yet again, but before leaving, he sent another ssage to Mr. Han through the app, asking for clarification.
Wang: "I’m here. Where are you guys?"
A reply ca swiftly after his ssage was sent:
Mr. Han: "You’re at the factory entrance? We’re having supper at a nearby restaurant. Quickly pass through the alley on the factory’s west side; the restaurant is at the alley’s end."
To anyone alert, Mr. Han’s instructions would seem fishy, potentially prompting a retreat. However, confident in his ability to handle any risk, Wang Zhifan followed the directions into the alley beside the factory.
As anticipated, soon after entering the dimly lit alley, he sensed soone lying in ambush. Pretending not to notice, he walked to the alley’s midpoint under a streetlight, only to be suddenly surrounded. Several individuals blocked his path, pointing the muzzles of their guns at him from both ends.
"Kid, you’re the one trying to sell gear to our boss?"
Under the alley’s lamp, a dium-built, vicious-looking man in his thirties erged from between two gun-wielding young n, approaching Wang Zhifan with a nacing look.
"If your boss’s surna is Huang, then I suppose that’s the case."
Confined in the narrow alley with four gun barrels aid at him, Wang Zhifan remained calm, as if unaware of the peril he faced.
"Heh... then show us the goods first, so we can inspect them, and then we shall talk business."
The vicious-looking man wasted no decorum after hearing Wang Zhifan, applying pressure with a disdainful laugh.
However, this ti, Wang Zhifan refused to comply, responding promptly:
"Pointing guns at isn’t how business is conducted. I refuse to show the goods first. You guys need to show the money first."
A chorus of sneers echoed front and back as his words fell.
"Hahaha!"
"This kid is so damn naive!"
"Doesn’t realize he’s facing death and thinks it’s a negotiation!"
...
After the ard lackeys mocked Wang Zhifan, the vicious-looking man stood before him, gazed at him with an ominous glint, and slowly threatened:
"Kid, you better hand over everything willingly. Don’t force to take action, or you’ll die horribly... I know you might be soone from the Bureau, but here, that doesn’t matter. You’ll beco just another insignificant na on the missing player list."
The man’s words carried unmasked deadly intent, emphasizing he had seen through Wang Zhifan’s real identity. Yet, he remained indifferent, as they are the most ruthless desperadoes in the player community.
