"If the dungeon is targeting you, then you definitely won’t last long."

Chu Wei’s words resonated deeply with Wang Zhifan. Even soone like him, who had inexplicable cheat-like privileges, found it tough when the dungeon targeted him—so what about other players?

After the three finished their conversation, they swiftly concluded their investigation and returned to the side hall that the Wuji Sect had specifically prepared for them.

But when they got back, they found the situation was just as they feared. There were even fewer people than when they left. It wasn’t that those people went outside to wander; they had already gone down the mountain and left the peak!

"Damn it, the enemy hasn’t even arrived yet, and half the people have already run off? If the enemy cos, how can we rely on just us to fight them?"

At this mont, in the side hall dedicated to hosting players of the Wuji Sect, a young man with a stubbled beard suddenly couldn’t help but vent to his companions, clearly exasperated.

"Heh... Having half the people stay is already good. By my estimation, if a third of the people stay, it’d be a pleasant surprise."

The young man with the stubble next to a scholarly man in his thirties with glasses quickly replied.

"So, Mr. Wang, are we really not leaving? Are we really going to just work here honestly for others?"

Next to the man with glasses, a slightly dark-skinned, chubby guy spoke a bit disgruntledly, clearly unhappy about others running off and leaving them to fight the enemies.

"Best not to leave. If we all leave, this dungeon is truly over."

The scholarly man in his thirties adjusted his glasses with his left hand, his expression sowhat grave.

"Mr. Wang, I know your concerns... but we have to run when it’s ti to run."

Another middle-aged man with a square face quickly chid in, his tone slightly resigned.

"Better to die later than to die now."

He looked at the man with glasses, a resolute glint in his eyes.

"Let’s wait a bit longer."

The scholarly man with glasses, viewed as the central figure by the others, remained steadfast amidst their pressure. It seed he wasn’t willing to just walk into a pre-determined fate.

While they were discussing, more people left the hall to observe figures moving away from the mountain at the cliff’s edge, quickly looking for a way down the mountain.

Wang Zhifan and the others noticed that the number of players in the hall dwindled. Those who went outside left the mountaintop behind, inevitably affecting them too.

Chu Wei and Chen Ming’s faces turned grim. They were already relatively weak and relied on their confidence in Wang Zhifan and the prowess of other high-level players. But now, as everyone else fled, leaving just a few of them behind, how could they possibly assist Wuji Sect against the Devil Sect? Wouldn’t it be like striking a stone with an egg?

"Fan... I..."

Chen Ming was the first to crack under the invisible pressure. Seeing only the three of them and four other players who could leave at any mont in the hall, he increasingly felt staying equated to suicide and couldn’t help but want to persuade Wang Zhifan to lead them out, at least to live longer sowhere else.

"It’s fine, trust , even if it’s just the three of us... But if you truly can’t handle it, it’s okay to go down the mountain and hide."

Wang Zhifan remained composed, finally understanding where the dungeon’s trap lay for him, yet he had made his choice and didn’t care much about his teammates’ decisions.

On the other hand, Chu Wei gradually cald down. She initially grew pale as players fled and even prepared to persuade so to stay but ultimately abandoned that notion for various reasons, choosing to face possibly predestined fate with her companions.

So, in the hall that originally gathered eighteen players, only Wang Zhifan, Chu Wei, and Chen Ming remained, along with the four others who were also nearing their breaking point.

Within minutes, the scholarly man in his thirties with glasses stood up and approached Wang Zhifan, suggesting:

"Brother, aren’t you considering leaving? It’s tough to clear the dungeon with just us seven."

The glasses-wearing man’s eyes held curiosity, seemingly intrigued about why this young man was the least concerned about the dire situation from start to finish.

"There’s food and drink here, and a place to stay. Why leave?"

Sitting casually, Wang Zhifan turned his head and replied lightheartedly as if oblivious to the dire circumstances.

"Haha... You’ve got one big heart, brother."

Hearing Wang Zhifan, the glasses-wearing man grinned slightly but ultimately chose to lead his three partners towards the hall’s doors, leaving Wang Zhifan with a gentle farewell:

"Hope we et again."

With these four departing the hall, only Wang Zhifan, Chu Wei, and Chen Ming remained, the oppressive weight feeling almost tangible on their shoulders.

But Wang Zhifan remained indifferent, suggesting to Chu Wei and Chen Ming:

"You two should find sowhere outside to hide. I’ll handle things here. Don’t worry; we’ll clear this dungeon eventually."

Given the circumstances, Wang Zhifan realized it was better for him to remain alone, even though this appeared to be a trap set by the dungeon, he didn’t mind much.

"Fan, I’m not leaving."

Despite Wang Zhifan’s suggestion, Chen Ming surprisingly refused, even though he had been so nervous that he turned pale monts ago.

"I’m just asking you to find shelter outside, not forcing you out."

Wang Zhifan smiled, thinking the youngster on a wheelchair misunderstood, and clarified.

"No, Fan, I’m nearly a dead man anyway, so dying here doesn’t matter."

Chen Ming continued to insist on his decision despite Wang Zhifan’s words.

"..."

Wang Zhifan felt slightly speechless, then turned his gaze to Chu Wei, assuming she wouldn’t be as stubborn.

Yet when Chu Wei noticed his gaze, she simply shook her head lightly, not intending to heed his suggestion to leave.

"Ah Wei, why?"

Wang Zhifan found her reaction puzzling, as she wasn’t typically that kind of person in his perception.

"I won’t abandon my friends."

Upon being asked, Chu Wei replied calmly.
