Including the young man with dark circles, everyone quickly ran towards the front door; they didn’t want to face the ghosts that had passed the cleaning phase test, along with the NPC who just ran in, also helplessly running back the way they ca, directly facing the ticket inspectors that might appear ahead.
But their luck was indeed bad. They had barely run past two compartnts when suddenly two ticket inspectors appeared in front of them, blocking the way, both tall, strong, and unfriendly.
"Do ticket inspectors fight ghosts?"
With the way forward blocked, the young man with dark circles stopped urgently and asked the others.
"No, they won’t attack ghosts, they’ll only team up against us!"
The leading Black-robed Ghost imdiately responded, also stopping his advance, but hesitated whether to turn around and run back.
"Bullet Ti!"
Imdiately, the young man with dark circles erupted, using a signature skill of the gunner profession, boosting his own reaction speed to an astounding level, then dashed past the two ticket inspectors ahead, running further forward.
The two ticket inspectors, seeing soone able to break through their defense, beca furious; one turned to chase the young man with dark circles, while the other rushed towards the Black-robed ones and other NPCs in front of them.
Out of helplessness, these people could only choose to turn and flee, as it was very challenging to rush past the angry ticket inspectors in front while being witnessed by others; at least one would need to sacrifice themselves to get caught, but who would volunteer to be that sacrificial lamb?
A few seconds later, as these people had barely escaped one compartnt’s distance, an injured Black-robed Ghost got caught by the pursuing ticket inspector; without a word, the inspector violently grabbed his shoulder and hurled him towards the window!
Then sothing eerie happened; as the Black-robed Ghost hit the side window glass, it was as if he encountered no barrier; his body passed directly through the window, thrown outside the train.
"Ah!!!"
A scream followed from outside the window, indicating the unfortunate end that this Black-robed Ghost t.
At the sa ti, elsewhere, so distance from this compartnt, the greasy-faced middle-aged player and the cold-faced woman also ran into trouble.
"Hurry and escape! My skills have no effect on them!"
One mont, the greasy-faced middle-aged was hurling Wind Blades with a magic staff at several ticket inspectors ahead; the next, he turned and ran, urging the cold-faced woman protecting him upfront to retreat quickly. In his haste, he even cast a Wind Acceleration Spell for the both to speed up.
"Careful! There’s more ahead!"
The cold-faced woman first forcefully repelled two ticket inspectors trying to grab her with her shield, then turned, rushing to catch up. She saw figures in blue uniforms appearing ahead too and promptly warned the greasy-faced middle-aged running in front.
Initially, these two attempted an aggressive response when encountering ticket inspectors, but soon found these beings almost invulnerable to their attacks, making confrontation aningless and only drawing more enemies, trapping them inescapably.
This indeed resulted from their misunderstanding of the situation. Had they focused on evasion from the start, they wouldn’t have ended up in such dire straits so easily.
Such chases, pursuits, and blockades occurred almost throughout the entire train. Passengers were hunted by ticket inspectors while also facing threats from lingering ghosts. So, in desperation to escape the inspectors, even started attacking people beside them, dragging others down to save themselves, leading to chaos across the train compartnts, where only those with the sharpest instincts and nimblest moves could skillfully maneuver across compartnts to secure their safety.
However, when almost everyone else was frantically fleeing, cursing their plight, car 666, where Wang Zhifan was, remained a picture of tranquility. He was still lying on the couch, practicing, blissfully unaware of the dire situations unfolding in other compartnts.
This highlighted the superiority of the luxury compartnts, unaffected by any train events, sparing passengers much trouble and risk.
Not until half an hour later did this farce led by the Death Train co to an end, as Platform 16 finally arrived. The train was pulling in, and all ticket inspectors vanished without a trace, those remaining ghosts also reimprisoned by the train.
Wang Zhifan, upon hearing the platform announcent over the broadcast, did not rise from the couch imdiately. He figured there was no need to waste ti on the platform, though more practice wouldn’t hurt. But unexpectedly, soone ca knocking at his compartnt door, none other than familiar faces whom he had parted ways just hours ago.
"Brother! We were wrong! Please let us join your team! We won’t dare wander off again!"
The young man with dark circles knocked and shouted at the door of the luxury compartnt 666, with the greasy-faced middle-aged and cold-faced woman standing behind him, all looking sowhat disheveled, as though they had just run a marathon, exhaustion and fatigue unmistakable across their faces.
"Why are you back? And why are you two also here?"
Seeing this, Wang Zhifan got up from the couch and ca to the door; he opened the side door, which only he had the authority to unlock, seeing these three players who abandoned him at the previous platform standing there, utterly befuddled at what this was about now.
"Brother, we were wrong! Please give us another chance to join!"
Standing behind the young man with dark circles, the greasy-faced middle-aged imdiately responded to Wang Zhifan, expressing his apology.
"What’s all this about... Are you no longer reluctant to accompany to the forbidden area to complete the task?"
Unaware of what happened in the other compartnts while he was practicing in a dream, Wang Zhifan inquired why they had such a swift change of heart.
"We don’t mind!"
" We believe you can clear it!"
The three imdiately replied to him, aning they wished to secure his support.
"?"
Wang Zhifan, seeing their attitude change so drastically, showed so doubt; then he turned towards the athletic-looking female player watching from the side and asked her curiously:
"What’s going on... aren’t you planning to switch compartnts either?"
He rembered this woman clearly stated she would leave at Platform 16, but now she seed to have no intention of doing so.
"Yes, I’ve thought it through; I feel I still prefer the luxury compartnts."
The female player imdiately responded with a smile, indicating her stance.
"..."
All these consecutive changes left Wang Zhifan sowhat at a loss; sweeping his gaze over the four, confirming they didn’t seem like they were trying to fool him, he replied:
"You’d better think it through; this is the last chance to change tasks. I need not elaborate on the difficulty of that forbidden mission; once you join, reaching the next station ans no more quitting, and if things go south during the mission, don’t bla ."
He implied they could return if they wished, but any trouble encountered later would be the result of their own choice.
"Don’t worry, brother, we’ve thought it through."
The young man with dark circles hastily assured him at that point.
"We want to co back not impulsively but because the Death Train’s events are too tornting. Any further and we fear we won’t have energy left for the task; only by resting in your luxury compartnt can we recuperate... As for that forbidden level task, we’ve considered it: since the extraordinary ga can arrange such a mission, it must be passable, not purely a death trap. With your great strength, coupled with our help, we can surely clear it; completing the instance promptly is our top priority..."
This guy explained their change of heart clearly: mainly hey were driven by circumstance; unwilling to suffer through this tornting instance any longer, they just wanted to cling to Wang’s support and finish it quickly.
