After a conversation with the little flying elephant, Wang Zhifan ultimately decided to let this peculiar creature follow him. Considering its power might be needed against the Demon King, as for attracting attention, the little flying elephant would usually hide in his Space Ring and try to stay low-key.
Thus, Wang Zhifan continued riding the Red Deer Horse, flying towards his next destination, which was the Endless Dungeon. He planned to check if the Demon King had already broken the seal and returned there or to gather other information concerning the Demon King.
Due to the position of the Endless Dungeon being completely opposite to the Dark Tower, he found himself very close to his starting point on the journey, the initial town of this quest. Hence, he chose to return there on his way to find an appraiser or soone similar to evaluate his equipnt.
After spending a bit of ti, he found his rcenary helper Jack who remained in the town. Wang Zhifan expressed his intention, seeking the local’s experience and help.
Wang Zhifan found Jack at the entrance of the rcenary Guild. According to the lad, he had just posted a bounty seeking information about the Demon King and was preparing to continue gathering intelligence in the various taverns.
"Equipnt appraisal? If it’s ordinary equipnt, I can appraise it for you. I’ve been a rcenary for so many years and my vision isn’t bad, but if it’s very rare or high-level equipnt, I’d recomnd you go to the Artisan Association to find a high-level appraiser. They are the most knowledgeable about equipnt in this world."
At this mont, outside the rcenary Guild, Jack gave Wang Zhifan his advice, which was not too different from what the little flying elephant had said.
"Alright... How much do these high-level appraisers charge approximately? And where exactly is the Artisan Association in town?"
Wang Zhifan decided to take this advice, mainly because he didn’t think Jack could truly understand the equipnt he had acquired.
"The Artisan Association isn’t far from here, the cost is hard to say, I’ll take you there now."
With short red hair, Jack promptly led the way for Wang Zhifan, asking him as they walked:
"Why did you co back just one day after leaving? Are you not planning to go to the Dark Tower?"
To Jack, Wang Zhifan returning to town so quickly surely ant he had given up on the previous plan, especially since Jack didn’t understand how astonishing Wang Zhifan’s traveling speed was, thinking he had only left town for half a day and then returned.
"I will go, just after the equipnt is appraised."
Wang Zhifan didn’t explain much, letting him continue to misunderstand that he hadn’t gone far from the town.
Jack, indeed, did not doubt after hearing this, ending the topic and instead started telling Wang Zhifan about the latest intelligence he collected regarding the Demon King.
"Boss, this morning at the Wild Bee Tavern, I heard so news that all major kingdoms are currently recruiting strong individuals of all professions. Whether Mages, Warriors, Rogues, or Priests, all are very welco. So say these kingdoms are doing so to prepare for impending disaster, with one possibility being that the Demon King is about to appear! "Is that so? If I want to respond to the recruitnt, where should I go?"
Upon hearing this, Wang Zhifan was imdiately interested. Judging by the intelligence he currently understood, there was a high probability this news was true. Joining the local upper ranks was a good choice since at least those people had very rich information sources, far more reliable than him seeking the Demon King everywhere alone. Indeed, the local top-tier forces might have already pinpointed the Demon King’s current location.
"Boss, do you really want to go? Hmm... It’s possible those nobles know a lot about the Demon King... In that case, I suggest you go check out several royal cities. Jack was slightly astonished by Wang Zhifan’s interest in such a recruitnt. The reason being he knows very well what level of professionals the kingdoms require, knowing that no ordinary rcenary could et the requirents, implying Wang Zhifan’s confidence in his own strength.
"Alright, point out on the map which royal cities are nearby."
Hearing out Jack, Wang Zhifan took out a sheepskin map he had stored in his Space Ring, asking Jack to make so annotations.
He then, under Jack’s guidance, found the Artisan Association but didn’t let Jack accompany him inside. Instead, he let Jack leave early to continue gathering intelligence.
Wang Zhifan then took out the Mad Tree-man Mask to change his own appearance, transforming himself into an ordinary old man. Alone, he went in to schedule an appointnt with an appraiser, having all the equipnt he had obtained from the tower appraised.
The process need not be detailed. The appraiser was very surprised that the visitor could bring out such high-level equipnt. After appraising the equipnt attributes, he even asked Wang Zhifan if he had any intention to sell, saying that all major kingdoms were currently collecting such top-tier equipnt.
Of course, Wang Zhifan didn’t agree, nor did he pay attention to those secretive, investigative glances from the guild. He directly used "Into the Dream" and "Break the Dream" to escape on the spot, transferring to the surroundings of an external decoy he had prepared, making it impossible for anyone with designs to track him. They potentially didn’t even know his true identity, only assuming the ordinary elder he disguised as was his real appearance.
Certainly, Wang Zhifan acted with such caution not only to avoid trouble but also to prevent implicating his in-quest partner, the rcenary Jack. Otherwise, with his power, he could completely counter any troubles head-on.
